Chapter 1584
Rosalind Taylor clenched the knife in her trembling hand as she stared at the bank card before her.
She wanted nothing more than to tear it into two and fling it at this woman’s face, telling her to get lost.
But she couldn’t!
She had nothing to rely on. If she tore it up, she would be left with nothing for real!
Money was a cruel reality. Dignity, spirit, none of those meant anything in the face of it.
There was no way she could take a job.
Suppressing her rage, she squeezed her hand and asked, "What did Tristan Collins say?"
"Ah, Mr. Collins, he said he wants nothing to do with this because Raine is too stubborn, stating that even if something really happened to your younger son, she would not agree to a kidney transplant. Moreover, I heard that Mr. Collins has already found a suitable donor. I don’t know if it’s true or not, but anyway, he doesn’t need Raine’s kidney now," She laughed.
Furious, Rosalind Taylor stabbed the knife into the fruit!
In her panic, she accidentally cut her hand, blood spurted out.
This startled Mrs. Spence, who gasped and covered her mouth.
She was afraid Rosalind might lose her sanity all of a sudden.
"I... I should leave now. You should persuade your daughter as soon as possible."
She quickly picked up her bag and hurried toward the doorway.
Despite the blood streaming down her hand, Rosalind seemed indifferent.
In despair, she screamed and threw the knife angrily into the room.
The sunset light cast a mournful yellow on her face, the room was eerily silent.
When life disappoints, even the sunshine seems gray.
-
The Spence residence.
It was dinnertime, and everyone in the Spence family was eating.
A servant came to report, "Madam, she still refuses to eat, and she said...ask the Second Young Master to come."
"I’m not going," Anders Spence said, his face expressionless. His reply was swift and coldly ruthless.
Mason Spence was equally indifferent, "We need to deal with her as soon as possible. Now that we have left the Alliance, we need to restore our relationship with the Fosters as soon as possible. Jameson and Cherry are a perfect match.
If Raine insists on not divorcing, then sue her."
Mrs. Spence nodded in agreement: "I think so too. The house seems gloomy with her around. It’s bad luck. If it weren’t for the company, I’d never have agreed to let her in. Look at all the awful things she has done. Jameson is sensible enough not to touch her. It will be difficult if she becomes pregnant."
Sophia Spence snorted, "So what if she has a child? We’ll raise it. We can afford it. Anyway, the divorce must be expedited. I don’t want to see her anymore. She is always wearing a resentful face. No one dares to visit us anymore. Besides, it also affects my future marriage prospects."
Mason Spence put down his chopsticks, looking serious: "Right now, it’s all about public opinion. Alexander Foster and Chloe Collins are the clear winners. Especially Chloe Collins, because of the Rescue Team incident, everyone now knows her name. I think, the Fosters and Carrington Enterprise will only grow bigger in the future. We need to start mending our relationship with them."
Mrs. Spence asked, "I heard that all those who wanted to kill her have now submitted to her. Is this true?"
"Indeed, it is true. In the past, the Whites labeled Chloe Collins as a troublemaker and called a meeting with several influential representatives. They unanimously decided to eliminate Chloe. Now, those people are vying to curry favor with her. Times have indeed changed," he said.
"Oh, then we better act fast and get Raine to sign tonight!"
Unbeknownst to them, every word of their conversation was heard on the second floor.
