Chapter 1561
As the words fell, a call disrupted their serene fishing.
Seeing that it was Layla Lowell who was calling, Chloe Collins quickly answered.
However, as soon as she picked up the call, a child’s voice could be heard.
"Auntie."
Hearing this voice, the two looked at each other, their eyes unconsciously softening.
"It’s Dawn, what happened?"
"Auntie, mom and dad are arguing again."
"Oh? Why are they arguing?" She patiently asked.
The little girl said, "Because dad snuck in from the balcony again, mom got scared and scolded him. She even asked him to leave, but dad didn’t want to. He kissed mom, and then they started fighting with pillows."
Chloe Collins chuckled, "Ah, Dawn don’t be scared, that’s not called fighting between your mom and dad."
"Then what is it called?"
"Hmm, you’ll understand when you grow up. Anyways, you don’t have to worry."
While Chloe Collins chatted with her on the phone, the conversation became longer and longer.
The man beside her sighed softly, quietly picked up his phone, and walked away to make a call.
Not long after, a ringtone echoed in Layla Lowell’s house.
At this moment, Charles Carrington was holding Lydia Lowell’s head with one hand to prevent her from ’going mad’ biting him, he used his other hand to reluctantly pick up the phone.
"Hello!"
"Did you enjoy venting your anger?" A gentle man’s voice teemed with a trace of coldness.
Knowing that it was Alexander Foster, Charles Carrington had to give him face, and he tempered his tone, "What’s up?"
"Go coax your daughter to sleep."
"My daughter? I..."
A glance confirmed that his daughter, who was just bouncing on the bed, had indeed disappeared.
He hung up.
He caught Lydia Lowell’s hand: "Stop messing around, Dawn is missing."
Lydia Lowell was taken aback, she turned back and rushed to search for her.
In the end, both found the sleepy daughter in a storage box.
Lydia Lowell held her heartache, hugged her, and asked, "Dawn, why are you here? Hmm?"
The young lady opened her sleepy eyes, looking at both of them.
"Mom, dad, you’re not arguing anymore?"
Lydia Lowell paused, "You hid here because you were scared that mom and dad were arguing?"
The young lady nodded.
Charles Carrington put his arm around Lydia Lowell’s arm: "Dawn misunderstood, mom and dad were not arguing, they were flirting. That’s an expression of love, so Dawn shouldn’t be scared."
"Really? It seems that auntie also said this."
Her eyes brightened a little.
"Of course, it’s true." In order to ensure their daughter’s mental health, she had to say: "Listen to your dad’s words, right?"
"So, you guys really love each other?" She asked seriously.
"Of course!" Charles Carrington responded and turned his head to kiss Lydia Lowell’s cheek.
Lydia Lowell frowned, but facing her daughter’s gaze, she endured it and awkwardly turned her head to return his kiss.
She was clearly aiming for his cheek, but unexpectedly, he twisted his head and she ended up kissing him on the lips.
He had a mischievous smile on his face, whispering, "Our daughter is watching."
With that, he leaned in to kiss her twice more.
Lydia Lowell pursed her lips and silently shot him a glare.
The little girl applauded, "Hooray, this is great, mom and dad are not fighting!"
Seeing their daughter happy, they both sighed in relief.
Later, they both bathed their daughter and put her to bed.
Leaving their daughter’s room, Lydia Lowell didn’t look at him: "You go out and close the door."
As she turned around, she was pulled back and her lips ended up meeting his.
A blush seeped into her complexion.
"Listen to me," he said, "Marry me."
With that, the man slowly lowered in front of her and a ring suddenly appeared, as he knelt on one knee before her.
