Chapter 1558: Chapter 1558 Difficult to Control Feelings_1

Chapter 1558

Cherry Foster ran far away, losing one of her shoes, yet not stopping.

"Cherry!"

Anders Spence called her name, overtaking her and pulling her into his arms.

"Cherry, stop avoiding me! You have been avoiding me for two years now!"

Cherry found it hard to imagine what a man might be feeling when he tears up after uttering a mere few words. The tears that wet her cheeks slid down the curve of her face.

Not long after, she too couldn’t help but cry, nevertheless remaining silent.

She didn’t know what to say, or where to begin.

So many words remained unspoken, separated by a barrier of identities.

By now, he was a married man, bearing no relationship with her.

"I miss you so much, there hasn’t been a day when I didn’t think of you. I thought I could forget you, but I couldn’t, Cherry...I was wrong, I should have whisked you away when we had the chance. I shouldn’t have succumbed to my parents’ pressure to marry that wicked woman!"

Tears blurred Cherry’s vision, but she remained wordless.

She knew clearly it wasn’t his fault. They had been made scapegoats of a larger family squabble, which intruded their relationship.

Mason Spence and his wife had stopped them from meeting, even threatening their lives.

The night they decided to elope, they were discovered by the Spence family.

Mason brandished a knife, threatening to hurt himself if Anders didn’t let Cherry go.

She knew all too well of Anders’ agony at that moment.

Hence, she was the first to surrender.

She left him that night, resolute to never see him again.

But she didn’t expect, her days in Morisia were agonizing, she could not forget him.

Later, she learned he was married, to none other than Raine Nolan.

A woman she abhorred immensely!

Thinking of that woman, she pushed him away.

"It’s all in the past, don’t look for me anymore!"

She ran with all her might, afraid of becoming weak-kneed.

But before she had run off far, he pulled her back again.

He kissed her recklessly, pouring out all his longings at that moment.

They were in love. They had planned their lives together after the College Entrance Exam. Their forced separation still stung like a wound.

Leaving the most beloved at the pinnacle of love, was something one could never get over in their lifetime.

Cherry lost her senses, forgetting he was a married man, and remembered only that he was the boy who had pursued her persistently.

The two kissed passionately, not separating for a long time.

Much later, they sat on a rocking chair in the garden, cuddling close to each other.

Anders held her hand, resolute, "I’ll go back and divorce her tomorrow. Our marriage was in name only. I never touched her. All we had was a mere certificate."

Cherry’s face paled, filled with apprehensions.

As she regained calm, her sensibility and cowardice returned.

"But, what about your parents? Our families are still at odds, reconciliation is impossible."

She lowered her head, "And, Raine Nolan won’t divorce you easily."

Anders was determined, "I don’t care about all that. I only know that without you by my side, every day is torture. Every time I see that vile woman, I feel sick to my stomach. I refuse to live like this. I will divorce her tomorrow! If she refuses, I will sue her in court!"

Cherry couldn’t help but sob again, "Why did we end up like this? I was supposed to be your girlfriend, and now I’m the third party..."
