Chapter 1461
Sophia Ford’s family was terrified, their anger reaching its peak. Without consideration for Robert Foster’s feelings, they immediately called the police to take her away.
Chloe Collins knew she couldn’t stop it. She could only think of a plan afterwards.
However, what happened next caught everyone off guard.
Not too long after Wanda Wesley was arrested, her birth mother showed up.
The woman who previously had nothing to do with Wanda now arrived prepared, bringing with her a mental assessment report.
The report indicated that Wanda had a mental illness and couldn’t be stimulated.
She agreed to bear all medical costs and would have Wanda sent to a mental hospital.
The matter persisted for two days, eventually coming to an end with Wanda being admitted to the mental hospital and Mrs. Wesley’s, apology and acceptance of her wrongdoing.
The master was still lying in the hospital, his vital signs stable, but he hadn’t woken up yet.
That day, Chloe Collins finally visited his ward.
She was supposed to come two days earlier, but the issue with Wanda delayed her.
She had a suspicion in her mind and today she was here to confirm it.
At the entrance of the ward, she was halted by two bodyguards.
"I’m sorry, Young Madam, the doctor said the elderly man needs to rest."
"I’ve already asked the doctor," she replied calmly.
Still, the bodyguards stood firm and refused to let her pass.
Before long, the old butler arrived and also blocked her from entering.
"Young Madam, please understand, the Master really needs to rest right now." He looked exhausted, apparently having not slept for a long time.
Chloe glanced at the man on the hospital bed through the window, pondered for a moment, and said, "If that’s the case, I’ll come when it’s convenient. Please take care of my grandfather."
Old butler: "Young Madam, you can rest assured."
Chloe nodded and turned to leave.
She didn’t leave but instead entered the ward nearest to where she was.
The room had two empty beds and was quiet.
She took off her hearing aid and waited for a long time. There was no sound from the Master’s ward.
It seemed that her suspicion was groundless.
Like most people, she also suspected that the Master’s condition was a farce, but it wasn’t premeditated; it was probably opportunistic.
The difference between the two was that, the master had planned this act just as Wanda was about to enter the Fosters’ residence and had waited for Wanda to fall into the trap.
Instead, the elderly man originally did not have this in mind, but when he was suddenly forced by a certain factor, he had to pretend to be dead.
While most people lean towards the former hypothesis, she sided with the latter.
Besides Wanda’s confession, there’s another piece of evidence that suggests the master did not premeditate this - the master originally wanted both Robert Foster and Wanda Wesley to go. If he had planned in advance, then clearly Robert being there would not be favorable to his plan, so there was no need for him to deliberately invite Robert.
Regardless of which was the case, they all suspected that the Master was faking it.
Therefore, she came here today to confirm.
At this moment, the silence in the ward gradually upended her initial speculation.
Perhaps, Wanda really had a fit, and the Master was just unfortunately present, accidentally hit and turned into a vegetable, with no feigned death involved.
But there was one thing she still couldn’t figure out.
Why didn’t Wanda Wesley follow when the old butler came to request assistance and instead slip away under the guise of using the toilet?
If she wanted to use this to escape responsibility, why did she later confess in front of Robert Foster?
Wasn’t this contradictory?
Her intuition told her that the Master must know something.
