Chapter 1435: Chapter 1435 - A Mr. White_1

Chapter 1435

At dusk, Chloe Collins and Layla Lowell arrived at the entrance of Harmony Complex.

From a distance, they saw Wanda Wesley standing in front of the Security Booth, her gaze scanning the passers-by.

The pedestrians, terrified of being snatched up by her for a random round, quickened their pace to distance themselves.

Just like before, Wanda Wesley ignored everyone.

Despite Layla’s best efforts to jog her memory, it was all in vain.

Even the picture of Robert Foster did not trigger any response.

As night drew near, Chloe Collins suggested they have dinner first.

Layla was about to invite Wanda Wesley to join them, but she saw her walking in a different direction.

"Hey, Wandy!"

Chloe Collins with a serious look said, "She’s going to apprehend someone."

Sure enough, Wanda Wesley zeroed in on a passer-by, a white-collar worker, and approached her as if stalking a prey.

Just as she was about to lay her hands on the woman, she took a step aside.

She missed.

The woman didn’t notice and walked away after a while.

Layla looked confused for a second, and then, realization dawned on her as she looked back at Chloe Collins. Seeing the minor movement of her finger, Layla immediately understood.

Based on the afternoon’s inspection, the team at the laboratory understood the changes happening in Chloe’s body and her ability to control objects.

Witnessing it firsthand now made Layla a little emotional.

She even curiously reached out, felt nothing, and was amazed.

Meanwhile, Wanda Wesley behind them remained expressionless, looking quizzically down at her legs which had moved involuntarily.

"Let’s go," Chloe Collins said and walked ahead.

Layla turned around and saw Wanda Wesley following them unconsciously.

Chloe’s hand moved in a gesture, and it seemed like there was an invisible thread drawn between her and Wanda Wesley.

Fortunately, Wanda Wesley showed no signs of becoming irritable; instead, she was like a curious baby, dumbly following them.

They chose a quiet Japanese Restaurant to dine, each table separated by elegant screens.

Once the dishes were served, Wanda Wesley showed an eager look to fill her stomach. Seeing this, Chloe Collins withdrew her controlling power.

She behaved well, did not roam around, and quietly ate her food.

Layla kept filling Wanda Wesley’s bowl, creating a small mound of food.

She said in a worried tone, "She’s so thin, Robert Foster would be heartbroken to see her."

Chloe Collins showed the barest flicker of emotion in her eyes but did not respond.

Her gaze fell on the necklace around Wanda Wesley’s neck, her mood slightly heavy.

The meal didn’t last long and was over in half an hour.

Luckily, Wanda Wesley seemed to have let down her guard completely around them and was responsive to their words. However, she still did not remember them.

Seeing that it was about time, Layla took Wanda Wesley to the washroom while Chloe Collins called the waiter to settle the bill.

"Miss, the bill for your table has already been settled by someone else."

Chloe Collins looked up in surprise and asked, "Who settled it?"

"It was a Mr. White."

"Where is he?"

"Mr. White left about 15 minutes ago. He asked me to give you this."

Chloe Collins took the light pink card and opened it to see four words: Don’t come to find me.

She clenched the card, her eyes hardening.

Even though they had lived together for many years, she was now finding it hard to understand what was going through Milton White’s mind.

Whether it was the USB flash drive or settling the bill, it seemed like he was luring her to find him. But now, he left her this note?
