Chapter 1434
Various labels were pasted above.
No one resisted; their eyes were blank, seeming to have a very friendly relationship with the medical staff.
At a certain time, they would willingly come out of the room to participate in a new round of drug experiments, or undergo a full-body check-up.
At this moment, Wanda Wesley appeared.
She was fully armed with a vacant look in her eyes, carrying a person twice her size into the room. Following the instructions of the experimenters, she placed the person in a transparent room and then walked out.
"Is she on a mission?" Layla Lowell asked.
Chloe Collins frowned and said, "At this stage, she must be drug-controlled and exploited by them as labor."
Then, the computer screen switched, showing the same laboratory, but at a different time, seven months apart from the last scene.
An alarm suddenly sounded, the experimenters running around frantically, creating chaos.
"The experiment subjects have been set free, it was Wanda Wesley’s doing!"
"What’s going on! Hasn’t she been transformed yet?"
"The transformation failed, her subconsciousness is awakening, she can’t stay here!"
"She attacked the Conference Room! Hurry, move everything!"
The video ended abruptly at this point.
"That’s it? That’s all? What happened afterward, did they kill Wanda Wesley?" Layla Lowell asked anxiously.
"She didn’t die; she is now in Orlando." Chloe Collins replied.
She looked at the computer screen, lost in thought.
This had come from Milton White, which conveniently resolved her doubts.
But what was his purpose in doing so?
"In Orlando?"
"Yes, I heard that she appeared there suddenly six months ago and has been loitering around the Harmony Complex every day, repeating a single action."
"What action?"
"Abducting people. I think it must be a side effect left by their modifications. Her subconscious remembers her mission, thus she keeps repeating this pointless action. But the Harmony Complex ..."
She frowned, still puzzling it out.
Recalling the dialogue just now from the scene, Wanda Wesley had attacked the conference room.
The conference room was where all sorts of information collected.
"Chlo-Chlo, what’s with the Harmony Complex?"
"The Harmony Complex is the headquarters of Carrington Enterprise. Ever since she came back, she’s stayed there and hasn’t left. We’ve all tried taking her away, but it’s been futile."
"I want to go see her."
"Okay, this afternoon after I go back to the base for a check-up, we’ll go together."
"Then I’ll have Aunt Evelyn take care of the baby first."
They left the room, their friends outside calling them over to join in.
She sought out Alexander Foster and told him about the USB flash drive.
Upon hearing her, Alexander Foster said, "He really doesn’t know when to quit."
There was a great deal of story behind this single sentence. She asked him for details, but he diverted her with a laugh.
A moment later, he became serious and whispered, "I must be honest with you, my dear. He has been trying to find you all this time, but I stopped him."
Chloe Collins was silent.
A glimmer of melancholy slowly seeped into her eyes, faint and subtle.
Alexander Foster suggested, "If you wish to talk about Wanda Wesley, it should be me who goes to meet him."
She laughed, "What are you worried about?"
"Well, I’m indeed worried. I’m afraid my wife might run away." He joked, wrapping his arm around her waist and kissing her cheek.
She was also aware that this matter would probably be best handled by him.
Because of their senior-junior relationship, she might be lenient with Milton White.
Letting him handle this would be the most fitting.
By the evening, Chloe Collins and Layla Lowell arrived at the entrance of the Harmony Complex.
