Chapter 1163
He seemed less rigid than the last couple of times he visited.
"You’re just getting up so late." He moved his lips and uttered his first words.
Obviously, those words were inappropriate between them. The girl in front of him only glanced at him before moving on.
"Well, I heard that you particularly like the food from Hidden Nooks. These are the breakfast items I got from queueing today. They might be a bit cold, but, they should taste good."
Chloe Collins sat down, took the seafood porridge handed to her by the nanny, and said lightly: "Mrs. Reese, can I have some soy sauce?"
A few seconds later, a young hand passed over a soy sauce bottle.
"Here." Anders Spence’s gaze carried a hint of caution.
Chloe Collins looked at him seriously and asked: "Do you have too much time on your hands?"
Anders Spence put down the soy sauce and earnestly said: "It’s still about that matter, Cherry won’t listen to my explanation. I hope you can help me, I can agree to any conditions."
As Chloe Collins reached for the spoon to drink the porridge, he quickly scooped a small spoonful and offered it to her lips.
She: "٩◔̯◔۶"
Anders Spence: "This... I didn’t mean that."
He put down the spoon.
Chloe Collins shifted her gaze, reached into the Hidden Nooks bag, pulled out a box of pan-fried dumplings, and said: "Two minutes."
Anders Spence was overjoyed, nearly lost control of his expression, then regaining himself slightly, he said with poise: "Consider this as me owing you a favor, I’ll definitely repay you!"
Chloe Collins bit into a dumpling, without looking at him, and waved her hand dismissively.
"I’ll wait for you outside."
He felt somewhat awkward sitting there.
About twenty minutes later, Chloe Collins came out of the restaurant.
Arriving at the West Wing, they were informed that Cherry Foster had already gone to school.
Anders Spence turned his head and said somewhat embarrassingly, "Then let’s go to the school."
Chloe Collins casually glanced at her watch: "The two minutes are already up."
With that said, she stepped on her bike’s pedal, ready to cycle away.
Anders Spence swiftly moved in front of her bike, holding down her handlebars.
A pleading look in his eyes: "Please..."
His lips moved slightly, and he changed his words: "Please, we’ve been giving each other the cold shoulder for so long. If we don’t make amends, we’ll really break up."
Chloe Collins: "Oh."
She responded dismissively and rode off.
Anders Spence was left in confusion. Had she agreed, or not?
He immediately led his bike and chased after her.
He thought it would be easy for a car to catch up to a bike, but it turned out he was way too naive.
The roads were kind of congested at that time, and he could only vaguely see the tail light of Chloe Collins’s bike, and he could lose her at any moment.
Fortunately, the destination was clear, and despite rushing and sometimes lagging behind, he still made it.
Over here, Chloe Collins had just parked her bike when his car arrived.
He hurriedly got out and ran over.
"I’ve asked around, Cherry is in the Student Council. Could you please go with me?"
Chloe Collins looked at him directly, her voice was indifferent: "You are very annoying."
With that, she headed in the direction of the Student Council.
Anders Spence followed with his head lowered in frustration, not daring to speak aloud.
His mind was completely occupied by how to appease Cherry Foster.
When they were kids, she was the one who would always say that she would marry someone else when she grew up, cancelling their childhood marriage agreement. His heart had been hanging for more than a decade, and he thought that things would finally be smooth sailing this year, but it turned out to be even more uncertain.
He followed Chloe Collins’ leisurely steps up to the entrance of the Student Council office building, then took the initiative to lead the way for Chloe Collins.
"Cherry is part of the Secretariat Department, on the second floor."
Chloe Collins walked up at her own pace, attracting quite a few stares along the way.
