Chapter 207: I Love Him

Chapter 207: I Love Him

(JERICHO)

"No one’s bullying anyone." Sasha studies Wesley closely. "Your father wants me and everyone in my family dead. Tell me, Wesley. Would you want someone like that in your family?"

"I am not my father. And if it helps, I hate my father." Sweat breaks out of Wesley’s face and his breathing picks up. "I’m not like them. That’s why I left. They hated that I was nothing like them, and they constantly berated me for it. I don’t know how else I can convince you, but I’m nothing like them." He says in a hoarse voice.

"How can we be sure?" Sasha insists.

"I don’t know. I don’t know know how I can prove anything else to you."

"You don’t have to prove anything to him." I hug Wesley and glare angrily at my brother.

"You have to. If you want my blessing."

Tyler gets up. "isn’t it enough proof already that Wesley protected Jericho and baby Reign? I think if there’s something to speak to Wesley’s motives, it’s that. We know that the Sharks clan helped to orchestrate that move with the Sawyer clan. If Wesley had been in on that, he would have let Jericho and baby Reign die at the park."

"Exactly." I add. "I wouldn’t have been alive today if Wesley wasn’t with me in the park that day. He risked his life and jumped right in front of me to save me. He didn’t have to do that."

"Who knows, maybe he was trying to put a front to trick us." Sasha grimaces.

"No." I roll my eyes. "If he was on the Sayers side, he’d have gladly left me to die. Come on, Sasha. You know that is true. As much as the Sawyers hate us?"

Sasha rubs his jaw, looking thoughtful. "Maybe."

Wesley shifts uneasily and when I glance at him, I notice that he has gone very pale. "Are you okay?" I ask, concerned. He nods rapidly, but the sheen of sweat on his face makes me uneasy. "Come on, sit." I gesture to the chair that sits a few feet away.

Wesley clears his throat and takes a step towards the chair, but his leg gives away and he falls. He crumples on the ground like a heap. I leap fast and kneel beside him, gathering him in my arms "Wes? Wesley?"

Tyler kneels beside me too. "He looks so pale."

"Yeah." I stroke a hair off Wesley’s forehead. "Wesley, are you okay?"

Everyone comes and circles around us. Miles and Sasha look at each other skeptically. I swear they think he is faking."

Motherfuckers.

I stroke Wesley’s pale cheek gently. "Wes," I whimper. "Wake up."

Mother looks concerned. "Should we call an ambulance?"

"I...I don’t know." I grimace.

Wesley’s eyes slowly flutter open, and he looks confused as hell. When he shifts his gaze to mine, he looks slightly relieved. "Jericho." He calls me softly.

"You scared me." I bend and press a gentle kiss on his forehead. "What happened, why did you faint?"

He shuts his eyes. "I think the pregnancy made me anemic."

There is an uncomfortable silence for a moment.

"Pregnancy?" Miles scowls.

I grimace as they all stare at me, waiting for an answer. I wanted to bring out the news about the pregnancy in a subtle manner. Too bad, the cat is out of the bag. "Yes. Wallet is pregnant. We were going to tell you, but you all started yelling about him being a Sawyer. I didn’t get the chance."

"Jesus!" Sasha grits his teeth. "You got a Sawyer pregnant, Jericho?"

I glare at him angrily. "He is no longer a Sawyer. What do I need to do to convince you?" I yell.

"Wait a minute." Miles narrows his eyes. "I thought he was barren."

Wesley sits up and his color seems to be returning slowly. "I thought the same. That is what two separate doctors told me."

"So, you aren’t barren?" Miles scratches his head.

"Not if he is pregnant." Tyler laughs.

I help Wesley up and he leans on me. I then slip an arm around him. "Maybe you should sit down."

"Okay." He says quietly.

I lead him to a chair, hovering around him nervously. He is still paler than usual, but there is a hint of pink in his cheeks.

Sasha watches us with a scowl on his face.

Mother brings Wesley a glass of water, and Tyler sits beside him. I feel a spark of hope as I watch them tend to him. If Tyler and mother accept Wesley, I know Miles and Sasha will soon follow suit.

Miles comes and stands beside me, hand in his pockets as he rocks back on his heels. "So, is he really pregnant?"

"Yes." I say in a clipped tone.

"Uhm..." he clears his throat. "You’re sure it’s yours?"

I turn to face him and ball my fists. "Say one more disrespectful thing and I’m gonna punch you, Miles."

"Relax, kid. I’m just asking." He holds his hands up.

"Yeah. I know exactly what you’re trying to imply. The baby is mine."

"Okay. Okay. But it isn’t bad to ask." He shrugs.

"Ask again and I’ll hurt you." I hold up my fist and growl.

He lets out a gruff laugh. "I’ve never seen you this feisty, Jericho. This is unusual."

Sasha joins us, still looking grumpy. "Frankly, I prefer the lazy disinterested Jericho instead of this belligerent one."

"Since when?" I scowl. "You nagged me persistently to step up and act like an Adonis. That’s what I’m doing now. You and Dad were always bull headed, going after what you wanted. I guess it’s now my turn."

Sasha shakes his head. "Are you sure you’re in love with Wesley?" he genuinely looks confused. "Even though he is Irish?"

Miles nods in agreement. "It’s indeed strange."

I scowl at them both but address my brother. "Do you love Tyler because of his race?"

"Of course not." He blinks at me.

"Then why would Wesley’s heritage have anything to do with my reasons for loving him? I love him. I don’t care where he comes from."

"I guess." Sasha grumbles.

Miles nudges Sasha’s arm. "I don’t see how you will win this one, Sasha. Tyler and your mother already like Wesley. And he is pregnant. You can’t boot him. So, there goes that argument."

Sasha puffs out his chest. "Of course, but I’m deciding the vote. What I say is what will happen. If I say that Wesley isn’t allowed here, then he goes. No matter what Tyler or Mother think."

"Right." Miles nods. "The alpha has to run the roost."

"Amen." Sasha says smugly.

"Sasha?" Tyler calls out. "Can you please go get my fleece blanket for Wesley? And my favorite blue pillow for his back? Please hurry."

A faint pink paints Sasha’s cheek. He opens his mouth to argue but then he sighs and says. "Yes baby. I’ll be right back." He then lowers his head and leaves the room.

Miles and I glance at each other. We can’t help but laugh.

"See what you’ve just signed up for, Jericho?" Miles says. "It will no longer be about you. It’s about your omega too."

I glance at Wesley. He looks kind of overwhelmed with all the attention that he is getting from mother and Tyler. Our gazes meet, then he gives me a weak smile and a thumbs up.

I grin back and say. "I think that suits me just fine, Miles."
