Chapter 206: I Wont Let You

Chapter 206: I Wont Let You

(JERICHO)

Wesley and I are in Sasha’ study. The tension in here is so thick that it can be cut by a knife. I had called Tyler and Mother earlier and asked them to be there as a stabilizing influence, and it looks like Sasha called Miles for reinforcement too. It doesn’t really surprise me that Sasha wanted to have Miles by his side now. But the way that they are glowering at Wesley as if he came here to steal the china doesn’t sit well with me.

Mother is seated on the leather chair, hands clasped on her lap. Beside her is Tyler, perched on the arm of the chair, looking like a cat as he watches his husband. Sasha is pacing in the room relentlessly like some caged tiger.

I have my arm around Wesley’s waist, and I can feel that he is trembling. The fact that he is scared makes me want to do more to protect him. Everyone is now aware that he is a Sawyer. I’m sure that it is terrifying for him to be in the lion’s den, so to say. But we have no choice except to face this head on. I want Wesley to be fully immersed in my world, and there’s no way that’s going to happen without my family’s blessing.

"He’s a fucking Sawyer." Sasha yells as he jabs his finger towards Wesley’s direction.

Tyler shakes his head. "Everyone is already aware of that, dear."

"Then why is he in our house?" Sasha rakes his finger through his hair. "He’s the enemy, Jericho. I can’t believe you brought him here. What were you thinking?"

"I was thinking it was about time I introduced my omega to the family." I say, trying to sound as confident as possible. I hope no one notices that my legs are shaking. He might be my brother, but one thing about Sasha is that he is a force to be reckoned with when he is angry.

Mother grimaces, but she tries to keep her composure. "W...what, Jericho, you mean you claimed him?"

"Yes." I lift my chin.

Wesley goes stiff as all eyes turn on him.

"Uh oh." Tyler winces as he gives his husband a wary glance.

"I’m sorry." Sasha huffs like a blow dryer. "You did what?" he says the word what in a pitched tone.

I suck in a calming breath. "I love Wes. And he loves me back. And I want to be with him. So, I claimed him. You’ve been hounding me to claim an omega forever, Sasha. You should be glad that I did."

The veins in Sasha’s head and throat bulge visibly. "You know quite well that you were expected to claim an omega from a respectable, upstanding Italian family. Not only is Wesley Irish, he also the son of fucking Peter Sawyer!"

"I know exactly who Wesley is, Sasha." I put my hand into the small of Wesley’s back because his trembling has gotten worse.

"Show me the mark, now." Sasha growls.

Wesley moves closer to me and I hug him. "Stop shouting, Sasha. God! You’re scaring Wesley."

"I don’t care whether I’m scaring him or not." Sasha’s eyes are dark and angry. "Show me the bite mark. I need to be sure that this is really happening."

Wesley pulls away from me then shows his throat. They all let out a collective gasp as they all take in that he indeed has a bite mark on his neck.

"You can’t be serious, Jericho." Sasha shakes his head. "Why can’t you ever just do things like they are supposed to be done?"

"You wanted me to claim an omega. I have." I scowl. "Why do you care who it is that I chose to claim? I think love is more important than his social standing."

"Since when?" Miles laughs mockingly. "You have always trashed the very idea of love your entire life."

"That isn’t true." I scowl. "I have always been envious of your relationships. "Tyler and Sasha’s. Yours and Arlo’s. I don’t have any issues when it comes to love."

"But you slept around a lot." Tyler says. "You were always so vocal about not wanting to claim an omega, Jericho. Even I know that."

I meet Tyler’s gaze and heat rushes to my face. "Well, that was before I met Wesley. When I saw him, something clicked and I knew that I wanted to claim him."

"Even though he’s a Sawyer?" Mother asks with a wobbling voice. "You know quite well that your father and that man hated each other with passion."

It catches me by surprise when Wesley speaks up. "That was after I left home. I didn’t know anything about the feud that your husband had with my father, Mrs. Adonis. But I have never had any feud with the Adonis family myself."

"So you say." Sasha mutters.

"Why are you blaming Wesley for the things that his father did? He left his family because their actions didn’t go right with him. Why should you hold him responsible?"

"How can we even be sure that he really left them behind? He could be feuding them with information about the Triple Triads for all I know." Miles says.

"About what?" Wesley asks. "I haven’t been here for about a month and I have no idea what you guys have been doing."

"True." Tyler says. "I also agree with Jericho. Nobody should be blamed for the sins of their father."

Sasha shoots Tyler an impatient glance. I’m sure that he is displeased at the fact that his omega isn’t agreeing to anything that he says. "They deserve the blame sometimes."

Tyler gazes at Sasha. "Maybe it is, but so far, I haven’t heard of any tangible accusation against Wesley. It’s just a lot of angry generalizations about him being Irish. With all due respect, baby, I think that is bullshit."

"Well...I don’t." Sasha says.

"If you ask me, bringing Wesley into this family is lime bringing a rattlesnake in a cage full of mice." Miles adds.

Sasha ignores Tyler and inches closer to Wesley. Wesley doesn’t exactly wilt, but he takes a step back and I step in front of him and scowl at my brother.

"Back off, Sasha." I hiss. "Don’t try to bully Wesley. I won’t let you do that."
