His Genius Wife Is A Superstar -
Chapter 1637 1637: Touchdown in the Philippines
The next few days saw more performances by Iris Long, Enrique Valdez, and their ensemble of musicians on various TV programs.
The Chinese version of "I, the Dreamer" proved extremely popular in the domestic market. It pushed down the original English version from the top spot to number 2 in the music charts. Both versions dominated the domestic and other Chinese music charts abroad.
After a super busy schedule shuttling from one studio to another, Iris finally stopped (temporarily). She needed to prepare for her departure to the Philippines.
Iris and Jin Liwei took their twins, cats, and dogs and dropped them off at Lu Zihao and Long Jinjing's house. Jiang Ying Yue and Lin Yehan also brought Little Jun and his two guard dogs, the limping Gravy and the young Buster, to the Lu house.
The cousins all looked excited and delighted to see each other again. From how they acted, it was as if they hadn't seen each other in decades.
Little Jun led his cousins to play various games with Popcorn and the dogs.
As usual, Ice Cream only greeted everyone before finding a place to nap. The fat, grey cat had no idea that his Uncle Haohao had arranged a hellish diet and exercise regimen for her in the coming days.
The Lu twins, Little Misha and Little Dima, crawled all over the floor, doing their best to chase their older cousins.
The adults smiled while watching the children play together. It was such a joy to see the cousins get along. All of them wished that the children would remain close when they grew up in the future.
"Don't worry," Long Jinjing assured both Iris and Jiang Ying Yue. "I'll take care of your children. Both of you can focus on your business in the Philippines."
The two thanked her and continued chatting with one another.
Lu Zihao took Jin Liwei and Lin Yehan for a quick tour of his home's training grounds.
Although Lin Yehan was clueless about the fact that his Fifth Brother Lu Zihao had created his own criminal organization, he wasn't completely ignorant. There were signs. However, he chose to deny the possibility that his fifth brother would do something illegal. In the end, he chose to trust in Lu Zihao, believing that the suspicious signs he kept noticing were only superficial and had nothing to do with the truth.
Neither Jin Liwei nor Lin Yehan intended to clarify the truth to Lin Yehan.
Jin Liwei felt that it wasn't his business to reveal things to their other sworn brothers. If Lu Zihao had still been his real fifth brother, then he would have intervened without question. However, the current Lu Zihao was his brother-in-law in soul, the infamous Nikolai Vetrov. Revealing his real identity was out of the question, as it would also endanger the truth about his wife's real identity as Evelina Vetrova.
As for Lu Zihao, he had less concern about revealing the truth. He wasn't the real Lu Zihao anyway. Although he had grown closer to the original Lu Zihao's sworn brothers, at the end of the day, he was the cold-blooded Nikolai Vetrov.
All he needed to do was to ensure his family and sister's safety. That was his primary priority alongside seeking revenge for the downfall of the Vetrov criminal empire.
At this time of the day, there weren't a lot of people training on the grounds. Jin Liwei and Lin Yehan recognized some of them including Robin and Shun, Long Jinjing's bodyguards. Lin Yehan also saw his stepson's combat master.
Later, the adults herded the children, cats, and dogs for lunch. Long Jinjing personally cooked the main dishes. The homemade food might not look aesthetically elegant but they sure tasted amazing. She also didn't forget to prepare food that the children liked. Of course, the cats and dogs also had their own food that they devoured without leaving even a crumb.
When it was time for their parents to leave, the Jin twins hadn't realized the gravity of the situation yet. They thought that it would be just like every working day. Their parents would leave for work and come back home in the evening.
Little Jun was already starting to understand things. His parents had already explained to him that they would be leaving for an international trip with his Mama Xiulan and Uncle Dom. He even promised to take care of his little cousins, protecting them from harm just like his cool Uncle Haohao.
After kissing and hugging the children, Iris and the others finally left.
Iris' eyes became moist, as she thought about leaving her babies for a few days. Jin Liwei noticed his wife's emotions and pulled her into his arms. He also felt uncomfortable leaving his children, but he wasn't as emotional. They would be back soon. Besides, their children were in good hands.
Long Jinjing loved her nephews just like her own children. Lu Zihao would also make sure that the children were all safe from any danger.
In addition, Bacon had the entire property in his eyes, watching every single little thing like a hawk. The black cat AI had a high position within Shadow Winds. He had his own subordinates within ShaWn, the computer tech division of the group. Even Lu Zihao had to be cautious when dealing with his cat AI nephew as Bacon had already fleeced his Uncle Haohao of millions as compensation for made-up emotional distress.
Hence, Jin Liwei wasn't as worried as his wife about leaving their children at the hands of his sister-in-law and brother-in-law. The Lus were trustworthy.
In addition, Long Jinjing had mentioned during lunch earlier that Grandpa Lu would also be staying over at their home to spend time with all his great-grandbabies.
From the Lu's, Iris and the others headed straight to the airport. Their luggage had already been placed into the waiting private jet in advance.
Xu Tian, Jin Liwei's long-time assistant, stood waiting by the private jet's stairs to welcome them.
The sun was shining brightly in the clear, blue sky. Perfect weather to fly.
Now that they were here, Iris felt reluctant to leave. She hugged her husband's waist and pressed her face against his chest.
Jin Liwei smiled and embraced his wife more tightly. He also felt reluctant. If possible, he wanted to accompany her right away. Unfortunately, he still had some important business to finish today before he could be free to join her in the Philippines.
"Go on, love," he whispered to her ear. "I'll follow you tomorrow."
Her response was to tighten her arms around his waist. She was already missing her husband and children.
Jin Liwei sighed but the reluctance in his eyes was not any lesser than hers. He kissed the top of her head and escorted her up the stairs and into the private jet where a male flight attendant greeted them.
He looked at Dom, Jiang Ying Yue, Lin Yehan, and everyone else accompanying his wife to the Philippines.
"Take care of my wife," he told them, his tone and expression serious.
"Leave the boss to us, Sir Boss," Dom assured him, patting his chest.
The others followed suit.
This time, it was Iris' turn to sigh. Although she felt reluctant to leave, she still needed to do it.
This trip had been planned long ago and even got delayed due to her godson's kidnapping incident.
Deep down, she had also been looking forward to this trip to the Philippines. After another sigh, she steeled herself and let go of her husband's waist.
"You okay?" Jin Liwei asked.
She nodded.
He kissed her on the lips and hugged her again before letting her go.
With another sigh, she headed to her seat beside Dom. Jin Liwei waved at her before climbing down the stairs.
Back on the ground, Jin Liwei watched as the crew folded the private jet's stairs and closed the door. Then his car drove away so that the jet could finally begin its take-off sequence.
"Sir, here is the summary for the meeting later," Xu Tian said, interrupting his thoughts.
Jin Liwei took the documents and began reading while Xu Tian briefed him about the other party's background. He wanted to finish today's business tasks early so that he could follow his wife as soon as possible.

The Philippines.
A few hours later, the private jet landed at the airport.
Dom was already on the phone coordinating with his family to welcome them. Iris and the others chatted in the jet while waiting for customs and immigration officials to clear them.
"What did you say?" Dom exclaimed in Tagalog.
Iris glanced at him. She wasn't proficient in the Filipino language but she could understand enough for regular conversations.
After Dom hung up, Iris asked him, "Is there a problem?"
He shook his head. "I don't think it's a problem, Boss. My sister, Linda, just told me that there's a large crowd of people waiting for your arrival outside. There are also a lot of reporters. Originally, she only invited a few members of Black Stars Philippines and a couple of reporter friends to welcome us at the airport. She never expected that there would be so many people showing up uninvited."
Jiang Ying Yue immediately straightened her back and looked serious. She glanced at her colleagues. They nodded at each other, silently preparing themselves to protect Iris more carefully.
Iris frowned. "Are we being a nuisance to the other passengers and the airport staff?"
"Don't worry, Boss," Dom said. "My sister already coordinated with the airport's security and the local police to help with crowd control in advance. She won't let anything taint your experience here in our home country. Please rest assured, Boss! Think of this as a good thing! So many Filipinos are excited to meet you in person!"
