Chapter 673 - 21 Su Shijun’s Gift_1

Chapter 673: Chapter 21 Su Shijun’s Gift_1

The wooden box was over a meter long and about half a foot wide and tall. The whole body was reddish and faintly marked with several black stripes; the texture was clear and vertical. A sniff revealed a slightly sour scent. Holding it in his hand gave a very heavy feeling.

There were no other decorations on the wooden box, just a large red ribbon tied around it. The ribbon had a complex knot but surprisingly easy to untie.

Zheng Qing simply pulled on the end of the rope and the entire ribbon easily fell off the box.

He looked up at Su Shijun with some uncertainty.

The witch nodded her head encouragingly, as if encouraging him to open the gift.

With a light sigh, and a twinge of excitement, the public pay-student pried open the lid of the wooden box--which was quite different than he had imagined. He thought such a heavy box would have a sturdy lid. But, akin to the ribbon, it opened quite easily.

He was even more surprised by the gift inside the box.

"A charm gun?" Zheng Qing raised his eyebrows, a strange expression came across his face.

In the wooden box, a lance about a meter long and stout lay quietly on the red velvet cloth. On the side of the gun barrel, dozens of Fu bullets of various colors were neatly stacked. Underneath the gun body, there was also a thin booklet. Zheng Qing guessed it was most likely instructions on the use and maintenance of the gun or the manufacturing method of the corresponding Fu bullets.

"The Remington M870, a classical charm gun produced by Martin Tuo Alchemy Company, is a pump-action shotgun. It possesses a compact rune structure, reliable curse performance, and the Fu bullets pack a tremendous punch, most suitable for use in the hunting ground."

Su Shijun took a step forward and pointed at the charm gun in the box as she explained to Zheng Qing, "I remember you using a slingshot to launch Fu bullets in the hunting ground, it is quite smart, but the power is too small...so I prepared this gift for you. How about it?"

After speaking, she observed the male witch in front of her with a victorious face, as if she wanted to see his expression of surprise.

Zheng Qing worked hard for a while, and finally squeezed out a somewhat more natural smile on his face. This smile might still have been a bit stiff, but he’d tried his best. Then he exclaimed in a loud voice, "It’s actually a Charm Gun! It’s great... I was actually planning to use the money from selling my hunting spot to buy one!"

As he spoke, he silently tucked the gray cloth bag deeper into his bosom.

"Now you can save that money," Su Shijun raised her arm with her fingertips lightly tapping Zheng Qing’s shoulder, a satisfed nod. "You can buy something suitable for Poseidon... oh, and the amulet. He’s not even grown yet, how could you omit preparing an amulet for it?"

Zheng Qing was about to explain when the witch, as if by magic, pulled out a peach charm from behind. The charm, about the size of a fingernail, was engraved with many small runes that shone colorfully, clearly a lot higher-end than Zheng Qing’s Black Donkey’s Hoof.

"Remember to put it on him later!" Su Shijun instructed.

Zheng Qing nodded continuously, and privately began to contemplate how to negotiate with Poseidon to ’borrow’ its amulet occasionally.

Before he could come up with an appropriate method, the owner of the office began to usher him out.

"It’s getting late. Tomorrow is Monday, and you have Old Yao’s class... So, see you next week?" Su Daxu raised her hand, giving a slight wave. Her meaning was very clear.

Zheng Qing nodded continuously.

Just as he was about to step out of the door, he suddenly remembered something and turned around hastily.

"Are you familiar with Professor Montreya?" Zheng Qing asked abruptly, he had already started trying to avoid using honorifics in front of this powerful wizard.

Luckily, the beautiful Su didn’t seem to mind this detail.

"The one researching bloodline purification and skill transformation?" Su Shijun raised her eyebrows, as if she were indifferent to the name Zheng Qing mentioned: "He’s no gentleman... Why ask about him?"

Hearing the witch’s evaluation, Zheng Qing was momentarily stunned.

After the hunting match yesterday, Old Yao had told him that Professor Montreya is an expert in the field of bloodline research in the school. If you have any doubts about the congestion in your right eye or your lineage, you can consult with Professor Montreya.

But according to Su Daxu’s implication, this professor seems to be ’a bit dangerous’! Old Yao had never mentioned this.

After hesitating for a moment, the young public expense student eventually briefly explained to Su Daxu why he wanted to find Professor Montreya, and supplemented with a grunt, "...Old Yao, that is, our Dean Yao, said that you are very familiar with Professor Montreya and that you can introduce me to him... But if you think it’s unreliable, then let’s forget about it."

"I wouldn’t say it’s unreliable." Su Shijun leaned against the desk, stretched out her arms, and stretched lazily, revealing her exquisite silhouette. The young public fee student tried his best to move his gaze to a glowing berry hanging on a vine in front of him.

"...Montreya is indeed an expert in researching bloodlines. But I’m not really familiar with him, it is the elders in my famil that are. Apparently, the bloodline purification techniques he developed earlier are very effective, so several large families in the Consortium of the Under Moon have frequent dealings with him."

"The reason I said he’s not a kind gentleman is because he only has magical research in his eyes... if there’s something odd about you, I can’t guarantee that he won’t sneakily leave a trick."

"This is school... It shouldn’t be to that extent, right?" Zheng Qing chuckled nervously, hair-raising.

"It’s precisely because this is school that he would only leave a small trick on you." Su Daxu glanced at the male witch and sighed softly, "If you were outside school and you had some strange and bizarre lineage, and you were not under the patronage of the Wizards’ Alliance, I bet that Montreya could clone hundreds of samples from you, dissecting you in a variety of ways... eating you completely, without any hesitation whatsoever."

Zheng Qing sniffed and supported himself with the nearby door frame.

He felt a bit weak in the legs.

The world of magic was dangerous, and he wanted to go home. The young male witch mentally chanted to himself.

"Ha ha, eat completely." Zheng Qing laughed forcibly in denial: "He’s not a demon."

"Demons only eat the flesh. Some paranoid wizards would swallow you whole, not even sparing your soul, not even your shadow!" Su Shijun added in indignation, seemingly recalling something.

"... I’ve already felt that the school is protecting the students too much. They’re always worried about this or that, trying to isolate you in an ivory tower, in case you have any negative influences."

"But they never knew, the world outside, the real world, is ruthlessly cruel."

"You go and flip through history. Although every skewed page is written with the word ’morality’, between the lines, they’re all about ’cannibalism’!"

"If you can’t even face ’cannibalism’, how can you have the courage to face this real world! How can you have the courage to change this damned world!"
