Chapter 449: Chapter 118: Half-Face Has a Name_1

After leaving the stands of Jiuyou Academy, Half-Face did not immediately turn toward the stands of the other academies.

He squeezed through a narrow gate at the edge of the stands, crossed a winding, deep corridor, and finally arrived in a simple room.

As this room was located directly beneath the stands, the roof was sloped. Through the grey ceiling, one could faintly hear the stomping and cheers of the audience in the stands above.

Besides a row of Japanese paulownia wardrobes in front of the inner wall, and a long, slender wooden bench in the middle of the room, the four bare stone walls were devoid of any decoration.

This was the rest area for Hunting Ground One. Normally, the hunting teams training in Hunting Ground One would rest and change their hunting robes in this narrow room, perhaps even setting up a table for a strategy discussion.

But today was evidently an exception.

All the hunting teams were fully prepared in the rest areas established by the school outside the hunting grounds, thus rendering this room slightly superfluous — but of course, Half-Face may have thought otherwise.

He deftly walked to the row of Japanese paulownia wardrobes, opened the third door, and from inside took out a white robe.

This was an Alpha Academy robe.

Perhaps because it was an old robe, the silvery-white surface of the robe was somewhat shimmery, and the black edging was a little fluffy. Most Alpha Academy wizards would reject such an undignified robe, but Half-Face was an exception.

He took off his red Jiuyou Academy robe and his blue Starry Sky Academy robe underneath it and promptly put on the white one.

When he once again stuffed the two changed robes into the wardrobe, a white ghost-face mask slid out from the wooden wardrobe.

Half-Face picked up the mask, squeezed it, hesitated for a moment, but in the end still stuffed it back into the wardrobe.

"It doesn’t block my sight anyway, no use wearing it..." he muttered to himself. He closed the wardrobe, picked up the notebook and betting tickets on the bench, and then turned and left the rest room.

By the time he reappeared in the stands, he was already standing among the young Alpha Academy wizards — evidently, the slightly worn white robe had earned him quite a few strange stares.

"One of the tricks to doing business is to attract as much attention as possible from your customers... If I can’t even draw your eyes, how can I expect you to be willing to give me bags of gold beans?" Half-Face, trying to sell his betting tickets to a few young Alpha wizards, chuckled and explained his attire.

The young wizards of well-born families were obviously skeptical about his remarks, but that didn’t stop them from taking out handfuls of jade coins and gold beans to buy some ’happiness’ and ’pleasure’ at the school’s hunting party.

Half-Face did not linger too long in the Alpha stands.

After many of the parchment slips in his hands had disappeared, he finally saw a grey-robed wizard waving at him from the edge of the stands.

"That’s all for today! We’re done for the day!" Half-Face announced, put away his law book, and returned the peacock feather pen to his breast pocket. He then cheerfully waved goodbye to those around him: "There’s still over half a month left for the school hunting meeting, no hurry!"

After waving farewell to the customers, Half-Face squeezed through the crowd, and disappeared from the sight of the young wizards in the blink of an eye.

He didn’t go too far.

Carefully avoiding the attention of others, Half-Face followed the grey-robed wizard to a narrow staircase entrance.

Much like the situation under the stands of Jiuyou Academy, there was a different scene under the stands of Alpha Academy.

On both sides of the winding, deep corridor were elegant and unique wooden doors, just like those deep within Alpha Castle.

After a few turns, the grey-robed wizard stopped in front of a sienna wooden door.

Half-Face noticed that there were no Door Gods hanging on these wooden doors.

The grey-robed wizard raised the small hammer hanging on the door and lightly knocked on the round wooden soundboard below the lintel.

"Thump, thump, thump."

The dull knocking sounds only dislodged a little dust from above, but it didn’t carry far in this dim corridor.

The door opened silently.

But the grey-robed wizard didn’t immediately go in.

"Sir, Mr. Neville has arrived." The grey-robed wizard bowed slightly toward the room, showing respect.

Half-Face automatically stood tall, trying to maintain his fragile dignity in this oppressive environment.

"Come in," called a deep voice from within the room.

The grey-robed wizard gave way, indicating for Half-Face to enter. And then, he followed behind, and silently closed the door again.

Upon entering, Half-Face marvelled at the sudden brightness.

It was a spacious rest room.

A gigantic floor-to-ceiling window took up an entire wall opposite the door, stretching from the ceiling all the way down to the baseboard. It was all one huge bright glass window.

The sunlight streamed in diagonally from above the window. Whether it was due to magic filtering or not, it was not blinding, but rather gave a bright and soft feeling.

The window was directly facing the ’Eye of the Vortex’, not missing a bit.

You could clearly see every single movement within that small world through this window.

A small coffee table stood in the center of the rest room. The polished black marble tabletop had flecks of silver, giving it the appearance of a deep night sky.

Around the coffee table was a circle of white low-backed leather sofas.

A tall and stout figure sat in the main seat of the sofa. Although this figure had his back to the door, the incoming guests knew at once that they had not come to the wrong room at the sight of this figure’s back.

In the corners of the room and behind these low-back sofas, a few figures lingered in the shadows.

Half-Face did not steal any glances.

Presently, he was a cultured Alpha wizard, so it was crucial to maintain enough etiquette in front of his host.

Until the host spoke, he held his silence.

However, this did not mean that everyone else in the room would do the same.

"Nice to meet you, Mr. Neville!" A short burly wizard stepped out from behind the low-back sofa, stretched out his hand with a crude smile on his face, "I’m Andrew Taylor from Quebec, just started freshmen year... "

Half-Face — or he could also be addressed as Mr. Neville — noticed that those short fingers stretched out were covered in magic rings.

"Ah, of course, of course." Mr. Neville gave a false laugh, shook Andrew’s fingers, then quickly withdrew his arm: "Young master from the Taylor family... Not long ago, you just rejected a young cub from the Karen family’s dueling invitation in front of everyone... Your name is more prominent than most werewolves at Alpha Academy!"

Andrew Taylor suddenly widened his eyes.

His face turned bright red.
