Chapter 202: Chapter 126: Aristocrat Under the Moon_1
Matthew Karen, arms folded, stood solitary on the lawn.
As a nobleman in the Moonlight, he scorned the idea of standing under the sun and having broad discussions with the crude classmates in his class. As the one possessing the pure bloodline of the Karen Family, he always faced the frank and enthusiastic smiles of others with a reserved attitude.
Because of this, classmates gradually kept him at a respectful distance.
However, Matthew didn’t mind other people’s attitudes at all. On the contrary, he thought that it was the correct way for classmates to interact.
The sunlight was a bit dazzling.
Matthew wore a broad hat hood on his head and refreshing fish-skin gloves on his hands. Not a single piece of skin was exposed to the sunlight. Yet, a fiery rage was raging in his heart, making him restless.
A few minutes ago, he had watched the entire clandestine conflict between Zhang Ji Xin and Andrew Taylor.
From his point of view, it was a complete provocation from this wolf cub in his class.
However, the way the conflict ended left him somewhat unprepared.
There was no firm and decisive retaliation, no hearty fighting, and even Zheng Qing and his mates didn’t issue a single stern warning to that wolf cub’s offense!
"Where is the sense of honor in this class!" The young Moonlight noble roared in his heart, scanning his surroundings discontentedly.
Not far off, Tang Dun was sweating profusely, running around trying to tidy up the scattered ranks. A few minutes ago, he had just awakened to his responsibilities as the class monitor and wanted to control the chaotic situation within bearable limits before Assistant Hilda appeared— he didn’t notice the clandestine conflict that had occurred in some corner at all.
On the other side, Zheng Qing and his comrades were engaged in a heated argument about something. According to the snippets Matthew heard, it seemed that there was a deeper conflict behind this confrontation. But this could not conceal their mistake of ignoring the class’s honor!
Most of the people were simply basking lazily in the sun, paying no attention to the conflict, which had been extinguished.
"This is a kind of offense." Matthew Karen’s palms slowly clenched. He murmured to himself, "I must do something."
In the long and rigorous education he received, everything could be abandoned, except for etiquette and honor always held in the heart.
Even though he didn’t like the atmosphere at Jiuyou Academy, as a member of this class, his honor should have him as its guardian!
Thinking of this, Matthew Karen took off the fish-skin gloves from his hands and removed the hat hood from his head.
His pale face exposed to the sun, making him a little uncomfortable.
But he quickly stabilized, narrowing his eyes, he headed towards Alpha Academy’s team with a dignified stride.
This move quickly attracted the attention of others.
Whether they were freshmen from Jiuyou Academy or from Alpha, they were all curiously sizing up this handsome Moonlight nobleman. The girls, in particular, were whispering to each other, guessing what he wanted to do.
On the edge of Alpha Academy’s ranks.
Andrew was chatting happily with his buddies.
The young master of the Taylor family had a smile on his face that came from the heart, seeming not to care at all about the magic ring that had just been snatched away.
"Did it work?" Julian asked nervously by his side.
"Fool." Despite his grave expression, the young master of the Taylor family couldn’t suppress the laughter in his eyes, "Because of your rashness, I wasted a magic ring..... Luckily, I still have the ’Nightmare Talisman’ that uncle gave me."
For the wealthy Andrew, one or even ten magic rings made little difference.
As long as he could achieve his goal, he could throw out a hundred magic rings without batting an eye.
Whenever he thought about the talisman paper he had given to Zheng Qing, Andrew couldn’t help but feel a bit smug. He boasted to his companions, "Only our Taylor family, who has a Talisman Master, can embed a ’Nightmare Curse’ into a ’Gentle Rain Talisman’. He’s in for a treat this month."
Upon hearing this, Julian and others couldn’t help but praise him.
"It’s a pity, though," Andrew’s tone shifted, expressing slight dissatisfaction, "If I could have gotten that drop of blood, Mr. Sepulano would have been even happier."
"You’ve already given him a nice gift," Julian comforted him, "Perhaps tomorrow evening, you’ll receive an invitation to Mr. Sepulano’s weekend party."
Andrew nodded modestly, unable to conceal the satisfied smile on his face.
No one doubted the power of the Blood Comrades.
Perhaps this very evening, my gift will be revealed to Sir Friedman and Mr. Sepulano.
Just then, a cold and proud voice interrupted Andrew’s musings.
"Draw your Law Book, Andrew." Matthew Karen walked up to the young master of the Taylor house in front of everyone, opened his redwood hardcover Law Book, tore off the title page, threw it in front of Andrew, and lifted his head high, "If you still have a sense of honor."
Almost everyone sucked in a cold breath.
Andrew stifled his laughter, watching as the page with a light blue watermark floated gently down to the ground, his eyes revealing confusion. He did not speak immediately.
Julian and others looked around anxiously, attempting to find some support.
Everyone watched Matthew standing in front of Andrew nervously, none of them saying a word.
In fact, no one expected this kind of thing to happen—most of them didn’t even know why Matthew was suddenly challenging Andrew to a duel.
But with the teacher absent, no one dared interfere in the sacred duel between nocturnal creatures.
For a while, the lawn fell into a long silence.
"This is Green Valley, not the valleys of Quebec." Matthew seemed to sense his opponent’s confusion, explaining briefly, "No one can act recklessly without paying a price!"
The Taylor family’s estate is located in the mountains of Northern Quebec. This statement was both an explanation and a warning.
Andrew came to a sudden realization.
Zheng Qing also realized it at the same time.
"What is he doing!" Zheng Qing looked at Matthew in surprise, wanting to step forward to stop him, "Is he crazy? The school rules clearly state that students are not allowed to draw their law books on each other!"
Xiao Xiao stopped him by pulling his robe again.
"Don’t get agitated." The always calm special admissions student looked at Matthew, who was standing back to everyone not far away, surprisingly calmly. "I didn’t think that rebel vampire family would teach such a conservative nocturnal aristocrat."
Zheng Qing sharply noticed the difference in Xiao Xiao’s choice of words.
"A nocturnal aristocrat?" Zheng Qing raised his eyebrows.
"Yes," Xiao Xiao nodded, he opened his massive notebook, took out a pen and began to record vigorously, "Though all vampires call themselves ’nocturnal aristocrats’, not all are recognized by others as one...It’s an honour, and more importantly, a duty."
"All things will perish, only glory lasts forever!"
"Starting from today, at First University, Matthew Karen can be called a true nocturnal aristocrat."
