High School of Demon Hunting -

Chapter 1198: Chapter 260: Accident in Practice Class
Discussion on the Spring Hunt had actually been ongoing for more than a week, whereas the event, originally scheduled to commence last Friday, was still indefinitely postponed until this Friday.
The school had consistently remained tight-lipped, but contradictory messages were occasionally leaked by the student council. For instance, the External Affairs official confidently claimed to be discussing sponsorship matters for the Spring Hunt with the merchants of Beta Town, yet the Study Affairs official firmly asserted that their department had not received any notice that this year’s Spring Hunt would resume. Meanwhile, the Public Relations section remained ambiguous throughout, neither admitting the postponement of the Spring Hunt nor daring to confirm its outright cancellation.
In short, discussions concerning the Spring Hunt became the hottest topic in the eleventh week of the term, second only to the Jiuyou and Alpha Academy conflict; even the occasional restlessness of the Lake Bell Fishman Tribe failed to command more attention from the students.
On the first day of May, which was also the Friday of the eleventh week, a full week had passed since the normal start date of the Spring Hunt, yet there were still those in the school who hoped to receive notice from the school the next day, informing everyone that the Spring Hunt would proceed as usual.
"In the past, the school has experienced similar situations,"
Next to a cluster of bamboo at the edge of Green Valley, a warlock was declaring to his companion, "My uncle told me, when he was in school, an unidentified demon once roamed the campus, forcing the school to cancel various internal and external group activities, including the Spring Hunt, which was delayed for an entire half a month. Then, after the demon was captured, the Spring Hunt was held as normal the very next day."
"Your example is not comparable at all," his companion shook their head dismissively, countering, "The reasons for this year’s cancellation of the Spring Hunt are very, very complex... It’s nothing like one wandering Wild Demon. Instead of harboring unrealistic fantasies here, you’d better hurry and sell those Talismans and potions you’ve stockpiled before they become ineffective and it’s too late."
Zheng Qing couldn’t help but snicker softly upon hearing this.
Then he turned his head to look at Zhang Ji Xin. Sure enough, the Red-faced Male Wizard was stone-faced, pretending not to hear the conversation. But Xin Fat Man would not give him the chance to feign ignorance.
"Your Talismans have expired, haven’t they?" the fat man pointed accusingly, poking Zhang Ji Xin’s shoulder rudely: "Brother Qing already told you to sell those about-to-expire Talismans in the store, and you agreed at the time, didn’t you? But then you changed your mind... Now look, you’re so poor you’ve had to pawn your underwear."
Zhang Ji Xin’s face turned purple with rage, and he remained silent, not answering the fat man’s question; instead, he changed the subject: "How do we deal with them today?"
Saying this, he pointed towards the edge of Green Valley.
Several companions looked in the direction he indicated and saw a group of White-robed, looking haughty, passing in front of a group of Red-robed; both groups with their chins tilted high, each looking through their nostrils as they crossed paths.
The practical courses were a mix of several academies and took place in Green Valley. Green Valley, located in an open valley on Buji Island, was surrounded by rolling hills and slopes with ankle-high soft green grass underfoot. The first-year practical classes of First University were all held here.
Due to the conflict between Jiuyou and Alpha, the school had once attempted to separate the practical courses of the two sides, but after just one week, they realized in vain that even though the students from Jiuyou and Alpha were separated into different classes, they were in fact still taking classes in the same part of Green Valley.
Conflicts that were meant to happen still occurred.
So, starting last week, the temporarily separated classes had returned to their original state. This exception was limited only to the first-year practical classes.
To prevent the students from using the practice of magic as an excuse to fight, the teaching assistants were losing their hair in anxiety, closely watching those troublemakers throughout the class with red eyes; at the slightest provocation, they would cast a Soft Leg Curse as a lesson, while the emergency therapists stationed at the edge of Green Valley turned a blind eye to all this.
Under such intense pressure, Green Valley’s practical classes had managed to continue smoothly for the past two weeks.
"Cleaned up?"
Upon hearing the Red-faced Male Wizard’s choice of words, Zheng Qing looked at him as if he were a monster, "Have you forgotten about last week’s practical class where you and Andrew collapsed for most of the period and we had to help you leave afterwards? How can you still be so reckless?"
"It is said that if one suffers from the Soft Leg Curse too often, they may lose control of their bladder and bowel functions," Xin Fat Man timely reminded, "If you plan on occasionally wetting your pants in the future, you might consider provoking Hilda."
Hilda was the teaching assistant responsible for the practical classes of the mixed group from Astronomy Class 08-1 and Alpha Academy students. Due to the high pressure of her job, she had been quite irritable these past two weeks.
Students from both sides had been frequently reprimanded by her.
Hearing his companion’s advice, Zhang Ji Xin felt somewhat indignant, "Should we just allow those hypocrites to roll their eyes at us freely? There are things that, even if it means wetting our pants, must be done."
Despite this, the warnings from Zheng Qing and the others did have some effect. When Hilda gathered the students from both academies to stand face to face, Zhang Ji Xin, though still with arms crossed and a sour expression, ultimately refrained from charging forward with fists swinging as he had in the previous class, fighting with the youngster from the opposing side.
On the other side, Andrew from the Taylor family also stood with a grim expression, his feet rooted to the spot.
This relieved everyone.
However, as attention was focused on those fiery-tempered students, a young wizard with a usually low presence and well-behaved demeanor stirred up trouble.
It was Nicolas.
During a paired exercise, Nicolas was grouped with a skinny warlock from Alpha Academy. Initially, everything seemed normal; Nicolas bowed politely, and the Alpha Male Sorcerer returned the gesture properly.
They each drew out their Law books in rhythm.
Then, the Alpha Male Sorcerer suddenly flashed a mocking smile, his lips moved as if he said something to Nicolas. The usually calm half-blood werewolf’s eyes suddenly reddened, and with a low growl from his throat, he threw down his Law book and lunged straight towards the Alpha warlock.
Caught by surprise, Assistant Hilda happened to be turned away answering a question from another student. By the time she heard screams and the commotion and turned back, Nicolas was already brawling with the Alpha sorcerer. Using the formidable physical capabilities of a half-blood werewolf, the warlock was beaten into a mess, his head swollen like a pig’s, and blood flowing from his nose and mouth, looking quite horrifying.
"Hui Tui!"
Hilda shouted, casting a short spell to separate the two young wizards and using a stunning spell to prevent the situation from further deteriorating, stopping any movement from either side.
