Chapter 62: Dangerous Deal

The morning light slipped through the curtains.

Savra was already up, shirt half-on.

She was brushing her hair like nothing had happened.

Zain opened his eyes slowly, resting back against the headboard.

He wasn’t surprised to see her up first. She always was.

But what caught his eye was how untouched she looked.

No limp. No soreness. No sluggish movement.

Just the same confident sway as ever.

Even though last night... he’d gone harder than ever before.

Much harder.

Zain narrowed his eyes slightly. "Still fine, huh?"

Savra turned, smirking. "You sound disappointed."

He sat up, his gaze trailing down her legs.

"I fucked you harder than ever last night. Rougher. Brutal."

His voice dropped.

"And you’re just walking around like nothing happened."

Savra’s smirk didn’t fade. "I told you already, didn’t I?"

She tossed a towel over her shoulder.

"Thanks to the regeneration node I implanted into my body, I can recover instantly."

"Reset everything. No marks. No pain."

Zain leaned back on one hand, his other resting on his thigh.

"Don’t lie to me, Savra."

Her gaze flicked toward him.

"I looked into it. I asked three different gearsmiths, even one black market dealer."

His tone sharpened. "There’s no such tech. Not even prototypes."

Savra’s smile thinned slightly, but she kept her cool.

"I got it from BB-1. Private circle. Off the books."

Zain raised an eyebrow. "That so?"

"Yeah," she said, crossing her arms.

"You wouldn’t know it. You’ve never stepped foot in the High District."

Zain chuckled darkly. "Convenient excuse."

She tilted her head. "It’s not an excuse if it’s true."

Zain’s smirk faded just a little. His voice dropped lower.

"I might believe you..."

She raised an eyebrow.

"...if not for my scanning ability."

Savra frowned.

"I thought your scan could only detect someone’s rank?"

Zain shook his head.

"Focus. That’s just the basic layer."

He leaned forward, elbows on his knees.

"If I’ve fought someone and seen their ability in action, my brain will store that data."

"The more I interact, the clearer the scan becomes."

Savra crossed her arms, expression unreadable.

Zain continued.

"After last night, I kept thinking that you must have some kind of ability that kept healing your body mid-act."

"Thanks to that, when I scanned you once again this morning..."

He tapped his temple.

"It finally appeared. Mid-Tier ability: Rapid Healing."

Savra’s lips parted slightly.

"It accelerates your physical regeneration. Enough to repair soft tissue, muscle fatigue, maybe even light fractures."

He tilted his head, eyes narrowing.

"But it doesn’t block pain. That means..."

He smirked again.

"You still felt everything I did to you last night."

Savra blinked—then burst out laughing.

She stepped forward, shaking her head.

"Damn. A brat like you, figuring out one of my hidden cards."

She leaned in close, finger tracing his jaw. "You’re dangerous."

Zain didn’t move. "I already told you I was."

Savra grinned. "Not only are you good in bed..."

She licked her lips.

"...you’ve got some pretty useful abilities too."

Then her expression shifted—just slightly.

The smirk softened into something colder.

"But I need to tell you this."

"Because you’re my partner... I’ll give you a warning."

Zain raised an eyebrow, listening.

"Don’t dig too deep into things that aren’t meant for you."

She met his gaze directly.

"If you push too far, you might end up losing your life."

The silence hung between them for a beat.

Then Zain chuckled, slow and dark. "Interesting."

He leaned in, grin spreading wider.

"Now you’re just making me more excited."

Savra blinked, then laughed lightly, tilting her head.

"Of course you are."

She smirked. "You’re the man I chose, after all."

Zain’s gaze sharpened. "Damn right I am."

Then he stepped closer, his voice dropping with intensity.

"Let’s make it more fun. How about a bet?"

Savra narrowed her eyes. "What kind of bet?"

Zain didn’t flinch.

"If I uncover all your secrets... every hidden truth you’re keeping—"

He paused, smirking. "—and I’m still alive after that..."

His tone turned wild.

"You become my slave. No conditions. No limits. Lower than me in every way."

Savra arched a brow, intrigued.

Then she smiled. "Sure. If you live through it, I’ll be your slave."

She leaned in, whispering, "You can do anything you want to me."

Zain extended his hand. "Deal?"

Savra’s smirk widened. "Deal."

She shook his hand.

Zain’s grip was firm. "Don’t break it."

Savra pulled back with a gleam in her eyes. "Of course not."

Zain’s gaze shifted as he mentally opened the interface.

He spoke in his mind—cold, calm, absolute.

[Hack Initiation: Unbreakable Bet Protocol]

[Condition Lock: Cannot be broken, resisted, or denied once the terms are fulfilled]

[Cost Required: 1,000 Hack Points]

[Status: Executing...]

Zain’s eyes didn’t change as the hack executed silently in the background.

But inside, he smirked darkly.

"With this... she can’t run. Not from me."

He turned to her, his smirk cutting sharp across his face.

"I can’t wait to uncover all your secrets," he said slowly, voice laced with challenge.

Savra met his gaze, unflinching.

"Me too," she replied with a lazy grin.

"But try to stay alive, yeah?"

She stepped closer, her tone softer, more dangerous.

"You’re the first man I’ve ever chosen. Don’t disappoint me."

Zain chuckled. "Don’t worry about me, Savra."

He leaned in, lips near her ear.

"Just start worrying about yourself when I win the bet."

Savra raised an eyebrow, her grin twitching. "Bold talk."

Zain straightened, eyes gleaming. "I’m not just talk."

Savra’s smirk didn’t fade.

"Good. Then I’ll enjoy watching you chase me."

Zain turned, heading for the kitchen.

"Sure. Enjoy it while you can."

He strolled in casually, eyes scanning the counter.

"Let’s see if there’s any food."

He opened the fridge, then glanced over his shoulder.

"I’m starving."
