Chapter 25: Chapter 25: They’ll pay for everything.
Liam arrived at the hotel. He followed the track Cleo had sent him, and he ended up in front of a trendy hotel.
He walked up to the receptionist desk. "Hi sir, how may I help you?" The receptionist, a young lady, asked with a smile.
"I’m here for my wife," he growled at the receptionist.
The receptionist eyebrows furrowed, and she hesitated before responding. "I’m afraid I don’t have any information about a guest by that name, sir."
Liam’s face darkened. "Don’t play games with me. I know she’s here."
The receptionist’s expression remained neutral. "I apologize sir, but I’m not going to disclose any information about our guest."
Liam stood there, and for a second, he wondered why he was so concerned about Eleanor. Not that she was important to him.
Just then, his phone rang. He snatched it up, his heart sinking as he saw Selene’s name on the screen.
"Sir, where are you?" Selene asked immediately he picked up. "You’re supposed to be in a meeting with the marketing team right now."
"I’ll be right there." Liam quickly ended the call. He cursed under his breath.
He had completely forgotten about the meeting. He raced back to his car as he tried to call Eleanor’s phone for what felt like the hundredth time.

Eleanor stood in front of Liam’s mansion. She had been dropped off by Sebastian not quite long ago. As she scanned the building, she noticed some footsteps hastily approaching her.
At first, she thought it was just someone passing by but as the footsteps grew louder, she realized that someone was coming straight to her.
She tried to scream for help but before she could make a sound, a huge palm gripped her mouth, silencing her. She struggled to break free, but her arms were pinned behind her back.
The next thing she knew, she was being dragged towards a waiting car. She kicked and struggled, but her efforts were futile.
She was thrown into the backseat, and before she could even sit up, the car sped away from the curb.
Eleanor woke up in an abandoned warehouse in the outskirts of town. There were crates of guns, boxes of knives, and even a few grenades scattered about.
The air was thick with the smell of pungent blood, and Eleanor could feel some shadows moving in her presence.
One of the men threw her into a dirty, rusty chair and began to bind her wrists and ankles with a rope. Eleanor struggled against her restraints but they were too tight.
"You’re going to pay for what you did," one of the men said as he approached her, sneering and raising his fist.
"Let’s give her a bath." He said as he turned on a big valve on the wall. The sound of rushing water filled the air.
Eleanor looked up to see water pouring down from the ceiling.
The men laughed as Eleanor struggled to get free. But she couldn’t. The water was rising fast, it was already up to her throat.
Liam bursted into the warehouse, followed by some of his men.
His heart sank as Eleanor submerged in a tank of water, her body limp and lifeless.
It happened that Cleo was able to track down Eleanor’s location through her phone. Liam knew she would be in danger, so he assembled a team of his most trusted men and together they hatched a plan to rescue her.
His men took down the kidnappers, securing the area as Liam cradled Eleanor’s limp body in his arms. He had already called an ambulance. As they arrived, Liam gently laid Eleanor on the stretcher.
In the ambulance, Liam watched as the Paramedics worked to stabilize her. As they sped towards the hospital, Liam’s mind replayed the events leading up to this moment.
At the hospital, Liam paced anxiously outside Eleanor’s emergency room, waiting for the doctor’s update.
Finally, the door opened, and the doctor came out with a reassuring smile.
"She’s going to be okay," he said. "But she needs enough rest."
Liam heaved a sigh of relief as he entered Eleanor’s room. She lay in bed, her eyes closed and her chest rising and falling with each breath.
He went close to her, a frown appeared on his face when he felt her temperature with the back of his palm.
She was running a temperature but still sweat filled her body.
He went out and came inside with the doctor almost immediately. A little look of concern appeared on his eyes as the doctor checked her.
"She’s having a concussion but will be fine after she wakes up," Mr Green, the doctor reassured, checking her vitals.
He left the room after he was done.
Liam sat beside Eleanor, lost in a deep thought. He jolted from his thoughts by a faint groan. His breath caught in his throat as he watched Eleanor stir, her eyes fluttering open.
She blinked, her blurry vision began to clear, her face full of confusion.
Eleanor searched the face which was hovering around her. "Liam?" She said in a weak ad raspy voice.
Liam’s face hardened, and he clenched his jaw. "Yes, it’s me. You’re finally awake." He rose from his seat.
Eleanor watched in confusion as she furrowed her brows. She tried to place her memories together. She remembered the ugly warehouse, some men pushing her into a tank, then nothing.
’Was it Liam who saved her? Why would he do that?’ she thought.
"How could you not be careful?" Liam yelled, his hands clenched by his side.
"How could you get yourself kidnapped?" He frowned and continued.
Eleanor’s confused face turned into surprise. She let out the breath she unknowingly held up, looking up at him, her eyes filled with pain. "I was abducted. It wasn’t my fault." She said simply.
Then she paused, her eyes lit up as she seemed to remember something. "Were you able to identify the men?" She asked in a serious tone.
Liam nodded and gave out a sad smile. "They’ll pay for everything, even if it means death."
