Without a thought, he rushed off to open the door and dash downstairs, only to bump into Naomi who reflexively held up the first aid box on seeing him coming close.

He slammed his nose against it and swore as he staggered back, hands on his nose.

Naomi flung the box to the floor just beside the bed and ran towards Daniel who was in pain. Without thinking, she pulled his hands away and grabbed his other chin with her hand, forcing him to look at her.

"Are you okay? ...I’m so sorry... I thought you were someone else... I thought you’d be in bed."

"It’s okay...Naomi." He replied, their gazes locking again and she pulled away on realizing how close they were.

"Let’s get you treated so you can freshen up and change." With that, she began preparing the cotton by spilling some hydrogen peroxide on it after which she pulled out a gauze and a small jar of tablets.

He watched her dutifully do these things and felt something tingle from his chest down to the soles of his feet at her genuine care for him.

However, when she turned, he pretended to have an indifferent look.

"Try to hold the pain. This will sting." Saying that, she led him to sit on the bed and bent over him, carefully placing the cotton on his scorched flesh.

His hissed and unknowingly grabbed the edge of the bed, resisting the urge to start screaming in pain. Sting? This hurt like hell!!!

He tried to bear the pain though and tried to think of many things to take his mind off the pain.

"Can you just zip it and let me do this." She snapped back at him in anger.

"I’m 18 and soon-to-be Alpha, I’m not a child." He announced in a curt tone.

"Well," She pushed the towel up his face and wiped the blood running down his nose. "I’m 23. So that makes me older. You have to listen to me and stay still." When he pushed her hand away, irritably, she was already done so she turned, ready to leave when she suddenly felt two strong arms hug her from behind.

His scent came at her like a wrecking ball, shattering all her resolve and restraint. She felt that warm tingling sensation spread around her body causing her entire being to think less of a human and more of a fox with carnal desires. What was happening to her? She felt so hot and uncomfortable but in a good way.

The same could be said for Daniel but... worse. He wanted to eat her up right there at that moment. The torment was so much. The thought of her rejecting him crossed his mind and he almost shuddered at some point but he realized that it was better. The sooner she did, the lesser he was this attached to her. Maybe going along with her people wasn’t a bad idea. He just wanted to be sure they weren’t going to hurt her. Till then, she didn’t have to know they were out for her

There was a high possibility that they’d be among the public today. He leaves the room along with the gauze she had kept for him. After a quick shower, he wrapped it around his stomach himself, glancing at his reflection in the mirror, wincing as he carefully wrapped it.

When he was done, he put on his outfit. He had on a turtle neck sweater and and slik fitting chinos. His loafers were brand new like his wrist watch. After arranging his hair and making sure his earrings were off, he proceeded out of his room. The house was empty but for the three of them.

Barton was already in his hatchback and Naomi was seated at the back, cupping her hands in between her thighs. Lust and desire filled his eyes just staring at her innocent posture from the rear view mirror. Moon goddess help him.
