Help! My Male Employees Are Having Babies! -
Chapter 72: Signs of Trouble
Chapter 72: Signs of Trouble
Paul went into work at the warehouse a little bit early, hoping that nobody would notice his new pants two sizes larger. He couldn’t believe he’d already gained 4 inches in his waistline. Williams’ baby was growing fast and from all indications it was going to be big.
Paul got some paperwork together, rearranged a few things on the workspace, and moved the chair down a little bit in height so that his abdomen wouldn’t hit it so easily. He was getting ready when the crew started to come in. He heard them behind him and didn’t bother to turn around to give them the rundown for the day. He was talking and noticed that nobody was really paying attention to his daily rundown.
Charlie was the first one to say anything. "So when are you going to tell us, Paul, about your trip to the delivery room?"
"Tell you what, Charlie? What the hell is going on? Why in the hell is everyone looking at me with a stupid look on their face?"
"Well Paul, it could be because of the sign that is over top of your workstation." Charlie gestured upward.
Paul looked up and saw something hanging above the station. He took a couple steps back and looked up to see a nice pretty colored sign: **CAUTION QUIET AREA - BABY UNDER CONSTRUCTION**. Paul’s mouth fell open. Who in the hell did this? Who outed him?
Roy walked up and stood beside Paul, looking up. "Well I see they got it up finally. Put that order in over a week ago. This construction crew is getting sloppy."
Paul looked at Roy. "Did you put this damn sign up?"
"Me? Nope, that’s not what I’m carrying around. No way I’m climbing a ladder. But you damn well know who did."
"Tell me who did."
"All I did was order the sign. I don’t know who put it up, but it’s about time it did go up. The place needs to be looked after for that baby to develop right." Paul looked at the sign again. "Had to be someone tall to do it, and that only leaves one person. At 7 foot 2, that could easily put that sign up. Must have been Hanz."
"Nope, you’re wrong again. He was busy last night, all night long, stretching my vent. And boy did he give it a workout."
"That’s disgusting, Roy. Nobody wants to hear about your man banging you all night long."
Roy grinned. "Paul, you are just jealous because my man didn’t tap it and run. You’re still around, but when’s the last time he touched you? Or are you too chicken to let him? Afraid you might like it? Let loose, enjoy life, because he is one good man and you know that."
Robbie walked in. "Damn, that sign looks perfect up there. I did a damn good job getting it up this morning. Even beat you here, didn’t I, Paul?"
Paul couldn’t say anything against Robbie. Number one, Robbie was bigger, Robbie was stronger, and he was the boss’s son-in-law. "Robbie, you know you didn’t have to do that. I was trying to keep it on the quiet side."
"Yeah, and William is about ready to go out of his mind. He wants to hold you, he wants to be near you and that baby while he makes love to you. Don’t fuck it up, boy. Even though Jonathan’s there, he needs to be with you and this baby also. Give him a chance."
Charlie spoke up. "Paul, whatever it is, work it out. You will share a child, so put your differences aside and do it for the baby’s health and yours. He must’ve been something to give you a child. I’ve heard you for years saying no man would ever get near you, and definitely not in you, to leave any kind of baby. He’s special."
Paul sat at his workstation and thought about what Charlie just said. William was one hell of a man to do what he did for him, and he had spurned him at every corner. Paul picked up the phone and dialed William’s number.
"This is William, can I help you?"
"Hey, how you doing? Well, everybody knows thanks to the sign that was put up. Won’t you come down to see me here at construction warehouse? Some of the guys want to meet the man that was good enough to get me pregnant."
"Thank you."
About two minutes later, William walked in and walked directly to Paul’s workstation. He tapped him on the shoulder, and when Paul turned around, William wrapped his arms around him and kissed him like a man that was starving for affection for a millennium. A few tools and clipboards were dropped during the event.
Charlie was the first one to speak. "I’ll be damned. Paul done hooked him a human, and one hell of a looker at that. From what I can see, I’m gonna sit down really quick. I don’t want him tapping my vent—he’s huge."
Paul stood up and walked William around, introducing him to everyone in the warehouse. "I’m sorry, guys. I kept the relationship on the quiet. I know some people still don’t approve of Genmen and humans seeing each other, much less reproducing and having a hybrid baby."
"Mr. Paul," José remarked, "if they don’t approve of it, fuck them. Fuck them in their vent or whatever humans call it. Who you fall in love with, who you have a child with is only your damn business, no one else’s. If they have a problem, then it’s their problem, not yours and definitely not that child’s. But I can say, don’t let him near me. I can’t handle that much there. You’re a lot better Genmen than I am."
That brought a definite roar of laughter from all the guys. Paul informed everyone that they all had their assignments for the day, but him and William had a few other things that they needed to do instead, so he would be taking the day off.
"Yeah, just make sure you can walk in the morning," Charlie called out.
Paul and William walked out the door. William reached over and took Paul’s hand; Paul didn’t pull back and they walked to Paul’s place for a day of passion. They got to the cottage and William started to remove Paul’s shirt when he realized that Paul was already showing.
"Damn, you got big already."
"I know. I’ve gained 4 inches in my waistline already, and at times I’m a little uncomfortable laying on my side."
"Have you seen Lex lately for an exam?"
"No, I’ve been putting it off, William. You know I was already 6½ weeks along when you did me the favor and changed the baby to hybrid. So I guess it’s just catching up."
"No, Paul, we’re going to see Lex now. I want a scan done on you. I need to see what’s going on in case there’s a problem."
This worried Paul. Why would William be concerned? Was there something somebody hadn’t told him about the genesis of the changing process?
"Okay, William. We’ll go to the clinic to see Lex."
