Chapter 68: Uncle Tim and the Noise Next Door

Chapter 68: Uncle Tim and the Noise Next Door

Ty walked into the office unannounced and stopped in his tracks. "I’m sorry, grandfather. Did I disturb something? I’ll leave."

"No, Ty, you didn’t disturb anything. Me and your uncle were having a heart-to-heart talk."

Ty’s mouth fell open—he didn’t know what to say. "My uncle?"

"Yes, Ty, I said your uncle. Tim is your uncle; he is your father’s adopted brother. Nobody knows this yet but you. You walked in unannounced and kind of got a heads up, so if you will keep this quiet, we’re going to have a dinner and announce it to everyone."

"Father, instead of the dinner party, can we have an outdoor cookout and invite the entire ranch to attend?" Ty suggested. "I know it would be a little more expensive for sure, but I’m not all about pomp and prestige. That might be for other people, but you know me—I’m just one of the guys out here. So what if I’m your son? I’m still one of the guys of the Z1."

Zack smiled. "I think an outdoor cookout would be fantastic. We can also announce the partnership between the Z1 ranch, the ECH ranch, and Jonathan and William’s company to provide affordable housing for everyone."

"Well, grandfather, if you want to do that, I suggest that we use the open field behind the house. Put up tents or pavilions and go all out—invite the entire community to the Z1. It will be a great place to announce your museum, library, and learning center for all Genmen and humans alike."

Tim looked at Ty. "You didn’t say anything about us hybrids. We do count also, don’t we, my nephew?"

Ty laughed. "Yes, we do—we sure do count. And maybe if both my brothers will keep their legs crossed, and we don’t have any births between the two of them to interrupt the cookout."

"Grandfather, one other question: when are you going to tell dad?" Ty’s expression grew serious. "I don’t know how he’s going to take knowing he has a brother. I know he was gone and he stayed away due to his choice, but something like this needs to be told by you and Tim in private before the party, in case he doesn’t have a positive reaction. Robbie would be a good one to have here also. I’ve heard him grumble and even growl a little bit when you called Tim ’son,’ or used the phrase ’yes, my son, what can I do.’ Then again, he might be perfectly fine with it because that would fill in the blanks."

"Thank you, Ty. We’re going to talk it over and discuss it between all of us, then bring your dad in and sit him down and go over all the paperwork with him before the party. That way he can be included in the party as one of my two sons who will one day take over when I retire and run the Z1 ranch together as brothers." Zack paused thoughtfully. "Harry and my children will take other ventures that we’re spinning off and make them their own in due time, but all of my grandkids are included. And speaking of grandkids, Tim, do you want to tell him?"

Tim cleared his throat. "You’re the first one in the family to know, outside our little group—I have a son on the way. Actually, two sons on the way. I’m expecting myself, and I also have conceived a child with my new partner in life, Jared. It will be our first one together."

Ty looked at Tim curiously. "So the child that you carry within you is not Jared’s?"

Tim smiled. "No, it’s not. This one here is a precious gift for Ed and Carter Hawthorne—it belongs to Ed."

"I couldn’t ask for a better uncle than you, Tim. I’m glad that you are part of my family, and your secret is safe with me. But don’t make me wait too long—I’m gonna bust unless I can tell someone." Ty hugged Tim warmly.

Tim smiled back. "I expect to see you with that beautiful Sonia on your arm at my party. And my dear nephew, you need to start thinking long-term with her."

Ty shook his head in agreement. "I’ve been thinking the same thing. I might ask her at the party to marry me, if she’ll accept the engagement."

Zack placed his arm around Tim. "Let’s go see Jared so you can tell him your good news."

---

Jared couldn’t believe what he was hearing from the two of them. How could someone keep this from someone they supposedly loved? And to find out that not only was Tim his son, but he was of mixed blood? Then again, he thought about it—there was no reaction when they made love and created the child, so he must have mixed blood within his body also. That was a lot to deal with.

But Jared did have one good thing to suggest: that it should be made a private meeting only between Luther, Tim, and Zack. He could explain to his two sons why he did what he did, and they could get to know each other as brothers finally.

Tim hugged his father’s neck and took Jared’s hand, and they walked to the house that they would share with Ed and Carter.

---

Jared met Ed and Carter, and they all sat down together and discussed what the ground rules for living within the household were—what was expected of Jared and what he expected from them in return. Tim told them what he had just found out: that his real name was Timothy Zachary Spinelli, and he along with his brother Luther Benjamin Spinelli would inherit the Z1 ranch.

Ed smiled. "Well, you know you get a chunk of this one too. Not only does that baby get some, but you get a lot of it also. You are bringing something into Carter’s and my life that we thought we’d never have—a child. And if things work out, maybe children."

"You never know what the future brings," Tim replied. "Mr. Carter might accidentally have one of his own. Miracles happen."

By gauging Carter’s reaction to Tim’s statement, Jared concluded that there was more to Carter not having children so far into their relationship. Maybe one day they would sit and talk about it like he had with Mr. Harry.

It was getting late. "I’m tired and would like to retire," Jared announced. Tim said his goodbyes to Ed and Carter, took his soulmate’s hand, and they went to their room.

---

Ed held Carter and wrapped his arms around him. "You never know—with all the medical advances we make, there is a possibility that one day you could have a child within you. Our child. Nothing is inevitable."

"You know we tried, Ed, and it just doesn’t happen. I don’t have any eggs—that’s all there is to it. I’m glad that we can at least depend upon Tim to help fill this childless home." Carter’s voice carried a note of resignation.

As Ed and Carter lay in bed gently caressing each other, Ed leaned down and took hold of Carter’s right nipple and tenderly gnawed on it. This was getting Carter hot, and the sounds coming from down the hall weren’t helping either.

Carter snickered. "Sounds like you taught him all of your signature moves, my husband."

"I taught him everything I knew. If he’s half the lover I am, we’re going to have to peel Jared off the roof in the morning." Ed and Carter listened to the sounds of Tim and Jared as they made passionate love—Jared was plenty loud. This got Carter hotter, and Ed was definitely in the mood, so they began to make passionate love together and tried to outdo the younger set down the hall. It sounded more like a competition going on than just lovemaking.

The louder Jared got as Tim made love to him, the harder Ed tried to please his partner.

"You know, Ed, kinda sounds like Tim went down south of the divisional line. I know that noise well." Carter’s observation was breathless.

"Well then, if he can go down there, so can I." Ed headed south. The moment his tongue touched Carter’s entrance, he hit high orbit.

Lovemaking went on for several hours, and when everybody was through, it quieted down. All you could hear was a couple of well-pleased bottoms gently snoring.
