Chapter 92: Travelling Back

Lin Feng glanced at the others, waiting for them to climb onto the back of the Frostvenom Python.

Surprisingly, the first to join him was Chen Mei.

Though she still seemed a bit nervous, it was clear she was trying to force herself past the earlier incident.

Feeling a twinge of guilt, Lin Feng broke the silence, asking the question that had been on his mind.

"How did you meet Elena?" He tried to sound casual, clearly wanting to steer the conversation away from what had happened.

Let’s just pretend that didn’t happen.

Hearing the question made Chen Mei’s eyes light up as she quickly regained her enthusiasm.

"Elena and I go way back. We first met as kids when my father paid a courtesy visit to hers in Brightshore City, and we hit it off immediately—probably because even back then, she was ridiculously strong!" Chen Mei replied solemnly.

Lin Feng felt a bit dazed at her words.

While he had expected Elena to be powerful, hearing such an evaluation from Chen Mei made him realize he had severely underestimated her true strength.

His mind drifted back to their first meeting.

If I remember correctly, she was already at the 9th level of Qi Condensation—and she wielded a spear. I wonder if that was her Heaven’s Pact...

"We sort of grew up together in a way since we both attend the same cultivation academy," Chen Mei said casually, a smile on her face. It was clear she had moved past the earlier incident.

I guess she’s forgotten about what happened. That’s good.

Lin Feng thought to himself, breathing an inward sigh of relief.

It was a comfort knowing Chen Mei didn’t hold a grudge—he wouldn’t even know what to do if the young miss of the Chen Clan wanted him dead.

"Oh right, I forgot to mention—once you get to Brightshore, you, me, and Elena will probably see each other around the academy!"

Chen Mei added excitedly. "If you ever need help with your cultivation, just come to either of us. We’ll always have your back!"

Hearing this, a warm feeling spread through Lin Feng’s chest.

It meant more to him than he expected, knowing Chen Mei was willing to go so far for him.

"Thank you!" Feng said seriously, bowing his head slightly.

"Why are you being so formal? Aren’t we friends?" Chen Mei replied, trying to act like it wasn’t a big deal.

Yet, the way she glanced at Feng out of the corner of her eye made it clear—being called a friend meant a lot to her.

Feng was stunned. He hadn’t expected Chen Mei to say something like that, and the warmth in his chest seemed to multiply tenfold.

"Yes, we’re friends," Feng said with a smile as he looked at her.

At that moment, Chen Li, Huang Bei, and the Yao twins finally managed to climb onto the back of the Frostvenom Python.

The two brothers immediately started complaining.

"What the heck? It’s so hard to climb this thing!" Yan Hao grumbled, breathing heavily as he lay flat on its back, clearly exhausted.

"Yeah, isn’t there like a ladder or something?" Yan Li added, collapsed on the back and struggling to steady his breathing.

Bonk! Bonk!

"Ow! What was that for, Big Bro Huang?" Yan Hao and Yan Li groaned in unison, looking resentful.

It was obvious they felt wronged for being hit just for stating the obvious.

"You two should be more respectful. This isn’t a ’thing’—it’s a member of the spiritual beast race. If you can’t call it by its full name, at least address it as Senior Frost," Chen Li said sternly.

He turned to the Frostvenom Python and bowed his head in apology on the twins’ behalf.

Hearing Old Chen’s words, the twins quickly sobered up.

A trace of fear flashed across their faces as they hurriedly bowed their heads and said—

"We apologize, Senior Frost, for the disrespect! Clearly, an ultra-powerful spiritual beast like you isn’t someone who would be easily offended. Your heart is as vast and magnanimous as the endless blue sky!" Yan Hao blurted out, his voice quick and slightly nervous.

"That’s right! Senior Frost clearly transcends the mortal world and would graciously let bygones be bygones!" Yan Li added hastily, his words stumbling over themselves.

The Frostvenom Python, watching the whole scene unfold, remained silent.

It was clear he couldn’t care less about the twins and, without acknowledging them, began to rise slowly into the sky before dashing forward, cutting through the air with graceful ease.

For Feng, it was his first time being this high up.

Below him stretched a vast, endless sea of silverpine trees, their pale, frost-kissed needles shimmering under the sunlight.

The trees stood tall and proud, their silvery hue casting an ethereal glow across the landscape.

Wisps of mist curled lazily between the branches, drifting like wandering spirits through the forest.

The cold air was crisp and biting, brushing against his face as the Frostvenom Python glided smoothly through the sky.

Rays of golden sunlight pierced through the canopy, scattering beams of light across the treetops and making the frost glisten like scattered jewels.

In the distance, jagged mountain peaks rose toward the heavens, their snow-capped summits gleaming beneath the clear, azure sky.

Far below, frozen rivers carved their way through the forest like silver veins, their surfaces shimmering as they reflected the sun’s light. ’

From this height, the world felt vast and boundless—a serene, untouched beauty that seemed to belong to a realm beyond the mortal world.

Feng couldn’t help but feel a sense of wonder stir within him.

For a moment, all his struggles and worries seemed small in the face of such breathtaking grandeur.

Noticing his awe, Chen Mei smiled softly. She stepped closer to him and, in a low voice, said—

"Beautiful, isn’t it? These silverpine trees are the pride of our city. They’re the reason it stays cold year-round—well, aside from the fact that we’re so high up, of course," she said, her gaze drifting over the stunning scene below.

Feng, still a bit dazed by the breathtaking scene unfolding before him, slowly nodded in agreement.

"Yeah... I’ve never seen this much snow before, especially this time of year," he said, his voice carrying a hint of wonder.
