When Feng heard what Chen Mei said, his breath paused for a few seconds as something changed within him.

The nervousness he felt slowly started to disappear as his eyes narrowed, shining with a dangerous light.

He moved his head slightly so that he was staring directly into Chen Mei’s eyes before he spoke.

"I don’t really know what you mean, and I don’t really know what kind of burden she has, but if it’s something that can be dealt with just through the power of my cultivation base, then..."

Feng said as he started to circulate his Blackwood Dominance Art, releasing the suppressive effects of his Alpha Wolf’s Domain.

Darksilver spiritual energy suddenly exploded outward, causing a storm of spiritual energy to burst forth.

"Then, if I have enough time, I don’t think even you can beat me," Feng said confidently, his eyes shining with a powerful light.

Although it was true that Feng had started to feel intimidated by all the geniuses he had met as of late—Elena, Chen Yang, and Chen Mei seemingly being the most powerful of them—

What the system said was also correct.

Considering the fact that he had just started cultivating a couple of weeks ago at most, his rate of progress was terrifying.

Chen Mei was also shocked, as she clearly hadn’t expected Lin Feng to have this kind of reaction.

The powerful suppressive force she felt from his darksilver spiritual energy, although not strong enough to affect her much at her cultivation level, still gave her an idea of Lin Feng’s potential as she thought to herself.

Where did this guy come from? Did Elena just pick him up out of nowhere back in the Blackwood Forest?

Lin Feng, seeing the reaction he got from Chen Mei, felt that he had sent enough of a message.

Slowly, he dialed back his spiritual energy, took a single step back, and bowed his head slightly before continuing to speak.

"I thank the young miss for protecting us. I will surely repay this kindness in the future."

Feng himself didn’t really understand why he had done such a thing.

Considering how he grew up in Raincloud Village, he was never the type of person who wanted to be the center of attention.

And yet, for some reason, when he heard Chen Mei doubt his potential, a sort of anger started to bubble up within him, as if he had been provoked.

So, he had shown off a bit of the suppressive aura from his Alpha Wolf’s Domain to send a message.

I don’t really know anything about Elena’s burden.

I don’t even know much about her.

But if the problem is just about strength, then even if I’m unqualified right now, in the future, none of these geniuses will be able to hold a candle to me!

Feng thought to himself as he waited for Chen Mei to respond.

He had already made his stance clear on the matter of not being strong enough to carry Elena’s burden.

Her black hair made her look mesmerizing, yet Lin Feng didn’t react as he had before.

Instead, he stared at her with quiet confidence—some might even say a bit of arrogance.

Chen Mei, seeing that Lin Feng had started to take control of the situation, suddenly forced herself to calm down.

She quickly regained her usual demeanor, a cheeky smile appearing on her face before she said, "All right, hotshot, my bad. I didn’t mean to hurt your pride—that was my mistake. It was really just a warning. You know the saying, ’A jade too radiant is bound to invite thieves.’"

Lin Feng, seeing that Chen Mei was genuinely apologetic about what she had done, also started to calm down.

However, all of his bravado from before suddenly began to backfire as his thoughts spiraled into chaos.

When Chen Mei saw the expression on Feng’s face, she suddenly laughed, already having a good idea of of the kind of person Lin Feng was as a mischievous glint flashed in her eyes as she started scheming.

Hmph, this guy actually dared to intimidate me with his spiritual energy?

"I’m guessing you’re planning to go to Brightshore City and join Brightshore Academy.

The entrance exam is happening in a few days, but considering your strength, I doubt it’ll be hard for you to get in.
