Chapter 44: Sixth Level of Qi Condensation
Feng quickly called on the Blackwood Ruler, handing him the largest cut of the Red-Tipped Brown Boar.
He also built a makeshift bowl large enough to satisfy the Blackwood Ruler’s needs.
"Here you go, senior!" Feng watched as the Blackwood Ruler excitedly dug into the food that was prepared.
As it started to eat with gusto, it was clear that it enjoyed the meal because its tail was wagging left and right.
"It’s time for me to eat as well," Feng thought to himself as he got a small wooden bowl and poured the broth inside.
He also grabbed a large chunk of the boar meat to eat.
CRUNCH
The first time Feng tasted the Red-Tipped Boar Meat, he was in ecstasy.
It was the first time he had tasted something this delicious.
Not only that, but the spiritual energy he received was clearly far greater than any of the meals he had eaten so far.
It filled his body with strength, and he felt like a bowl filled with water, ready to burst.
"Guess that still wasn’t enough to break through, but I can feel that I’m very close to it,"
Feng said as he felt the energy coursing through his body.
However, he chose not to focus on that for now and simply enjoyed his meal.
Next, Feng quickly drank the broth from his wooden bowl, and the taste was even better.
It felt like he was eating something prepared by a master chef, even though he had just used a random assortment of herbs and spices found in the forest.
"I guess this is the difference when you eat meat from a high-level spiritual beast," Feng said as he quickly drank the soup, enjoying the taste.
AWOOO
Feng suddenly looked up from his meal and saw that the Blackwood Ruler had finished eating its portion.
Although he wasn’t sure how many kilograms the Red-Tipped Brown Boar weighed, he was sure it was at least 1,000 kg, and most of it had been eaten by the Blackwood Ruler.
Even though Feng also wanted to eat more, it was clear that his small physical body wasn’t capable of consuming as much as a spiritual beast.
Once Feng and the Blackwood Ruler finished eating, Feng decided to rest for a bit before continuing his journey.
He knew that it would take quite some time before he reached the end of the Blackwood Forest, even with his improved physique.
And so, Feng chose to sit down and cultivate.
He started absorbing spiritual energy into his body and used the Blackwood Dominance Art to facilitate the creation of even more darksilver spiritual energy.
After around two hours of cultivating...
BOOM
Feng didn’t know it at the time, but due to his limited talent, the percentage of spiritual energy he absorbed and actually converted to darksilver spiritual energy had always been very low.
However, now, because of the gift given to him by the Blackwood Ruler, improving his talent...
A spiritual energy whirlpool suddenly formed around Feng’s body, causing the surrounding trees and water to shake.
A suffocating pressure enveloped the area as the spiritual energy sea within Feng’s body expanded once more, increasing both his reserves and his spiritual energy output.
[Congratulations to the host for his breakthrough to the sixth level of Qi Condensation]
Upon hearing the mechanical voice inside his head, Feng slowly opened his eyes as a surge of power filled his body.
He first checked how much stronger he had become due to his breakthrough.
"Hmm, at the 5th level of Qi Condensation, even without my integration, I could reliably fight against someone at the 7th level of Qi Condensation.
With my integration, I could definitely fight someone at the 8th level, and if I pushed myself, I could most likely hold back someone at the 9th level—but just barely. At least, that’s what I think."
"But now that I’m at the 6th level, if I push myself hard enough, I don’t think it would be that difficult to defeat someone at the 7th level of Qi Condensation.
And even without my integration, I could fight someone at the 8th." Feng thought to himself as he tried to estimate the level of his strength.
"Hey system, is it normal for me to improve this quickly?" Feng asked.
[It is recommended for the host to first stabilize his cultivation base before attempting to break through to the 7th level of Qi Condensation.]
[Rapid improvements in cultivation can cause instability in the host’s cultivation base, making it more likely for a spiritual energy backlash to occur.]
When Feng heard what the system said, he started thinking.
Although he wasn’t sure how fast other cultivators progressed through the Qi Condensation levels, he knew that his rate of improvement was abnormal.
If he didn’t slow down and allow his body to adjust to his current level of strength, there was definitely a possibility that his mind wouldn’t be able to keep up with the strength of his spiritual energy, causing a backlash.
"All right, I should probably slow down a bit.
But I probably don’t have to worry too much—the farther you get into Qi Condensation, the harder it is to break through anyway.
And when I fight a few people, this instability in my cultivation base will disappear."
Feng looked up and saw that the Blackwood Ruler was still there, guarding him.
It had probably stayed around to act as his dharma protector once it realized that Feng was about to break through.
He quickly stood up and bowed his head.
"Thank you once again for your kindness, senior! If not for your guidance, I wouldn’t have been able to progress this far. I will forever remember this debt," Feng said solemnly, bowing deeply to show his sincerity.
AWOO!
The Blackwood Ruler let out an excited howl, clearly pleased with Feng’s rapid progress.
Without hesitation, it stepped forward and affectionately licked his face, its large tongue smearing warm saliva all over him.
Feng instinctively flinched but quickly chuckled, wiping his face with his sleeve.
He didn’t mind at all—in fact, he was filled with gratitude and joy.
"Alright, alright! I get it, you’re happy!" Feng laughed, patting the Blackwood Ruler’s thick fur as the great beast wagged its tail in satisfaction.
