Chapter 173: Gathered Together
Chapter 173: Gathered Together
Jiang Hao looked toward the crowd for a fleeting moment. Looking at their expressions, he understood at least one thing, that the Main Consciousness had definitely been a lot more lenient.
Or it might have created some potential traps to even separate these cultivators from the real worthy geniuses. After all, most of them were only able to make it here because of forming groups.
"It might be true, senior sister."
He was really considering putting his mask back on again. Although if he truly chose that, then he might have to wear that mask for life, maybe.
So accepting some gazes might be a better option. Or maybe... he should just kill them all. After some time, people would just feel fear when they looked at him.
Fear is one thing that can change even the most basic habits of anyone.
They came back to their houses. Nobody claimed them because most of the city knew who they belonged to, not to mention, there wasn’t any difference between the houses in the main safe zone city.
Hunlang was again sitting outside, and when it looked at them, its eyes lit up.
"Hunlang, did you miss me?"
Ming Yue immediately went toward her.
"Wuuuuu..."
Yi Lin immediately came out too.
"Sister Ming, where were you guys? I thought you had left."
"Where would we go? Well, we just left to do some sparring last month. You seemed to be in a state that shouldn’t be disturbed, and Hunlang didn’t seem too keen on informing you about it either."
Ming Yue replied.
"Ah yes... I was on the edge of reaching my next stage in sword’s way."
Yi Lin responded.
"Oh yes, your whole sect is made up of sword’s way practitioners."
Ming Yue nodded knowingly.
"Yes, Sister Ming. It goes well with our cultivation technique."
Yi Lin nodded in acceptance.
"Well then, all we have left is to wait for the beginning of this competition, I guess."
There was nothing left to do for them anyway. They had come into the inheritance site mainly to confront their enemies on the same ground.
They were able to obtain four inheritances, so it was quite a good endeavor for them. Not to mention, looting the storage bags of properly equipped cultivators from the three sects was also quite valuable.
They had come as peak-stage Core Formation realm cultivators, and now, they were already in the mid stage of the Soul Sea realm in just one year, and that too without spending a single spirit stone.
The spirit density was more than enough for them to cultivate with ease.
With their actions of killing thousands of cultivators, along with the cultivators from these three sects, it was a given that they would gain more enemies... those who would willingly join these three sects.
Not to mention....those two sects would be desperate to do something to eliminate a latent threat like them with utmost urgency, so they might even force the other sect to join.
It would be all up to these sects. If they gave in to the pressure of these two behemoths, then there will be more enimies for them to deal with it.
All in all, they were bound to gain more enemies. Although it wouldn’t really change anything...they had already expected these types of situations beforehand.
Now, this one-year time period was about to end.. and the competition would begin. Since there were definitely cultivators who had passed these trials, they doubted it would be difficult for them.
It is true that they were now in the Soul sea region, but it hardly mattered with their battle strength.
...
Five days passed...and Jiang Hao, with Ming Yue, came in front of a pathway. It was built inside the city itself, starting from almost the middle of the city and stretching to the base of the mountain.
The size of the pathway was about 1000 meters. Right now, it was completely empty, as there was a shield around it that blocked cultivators from entering.
It was said that only those with a solid foundation could reach the foot of the mountain, and only those truly worthy of being called geniuses could climb it.
Cultivators from all over the city had already made their way to the opening site of the pathway, waiting for the competition to begin.
The rewards for reaching even the base of the mountain were very generous.
The rewards given by the main consciousness came in the form of spirit stones and rare spirit herbs. And since they were all at the peak of their realm, the spirit herbs provided were all of the Nascent Soul realm.
As for the spirit stones, it was said that the inheritance site had its own spirit mine, and given the spirit density here, the grade of spirit stones awarded were always mid and high-grade.
These spirit stones were very hard to find in the real world. Only a few places in the real world had the required density to create high-grade spirit stones, and those places were basically above hidden spiritual veins.
Among the awarded treasures were also weapons, talismans, array designs, and some other unique items.
It was said that the treasures given by the main consciousness to cultivators always returned to the inheritance site after the cultivators deaths.
This maintained the availability of treasures for every opening. There was also the fact that sometimes, in battles..both sides ended up dead, and if no one claimed the treasures of these cultivators, then the main consciousness was the one to take them. There were many such cases every opening, so there was never a shortage of treasures in the inheritance site.
Cultivators who only reached the base of the mountain were given treasures and resources from these loots.
As for those who were able to climb the mountain for certain distances, they were awarded treasures that were unique and valuable.
All in all, it was the main consciousness’s decision which treasure was to be provided to whom. One couldn’t choose by themselves.
But that wasn’t the issue.
The competition lasted for a week. This time period was enough to climb to the top of the mountain and claim the inheritance too.
Right now, Jiang Hao and Ming Yue were standing exactly in the middle, along with Yi Lin and Hunlang.
Around them was no one..and this was a good outcome, as other places looked a little crowded.
Once again, Jiang Hao understood the value of fear. No wonder every sect always tried to instill fear in their adversaries...it just gave them unsaid advantages.
Usually, the competition started at noon. Although the sun here wasn’t the real one, but a replica created by the seniors who made this inheritance site. It was easily discernible as it was far smaller.
