Chapter 171: Infiltration
Chapter 171: Infiltration
According to what Ngozi told Eros and Amanda, she entered the camp of the grand order and discovered that a planned raid on the dungeon was on its way. In fact, they were hoping to do it this night.
Eros thought hard at this and shook his head. Of course, he did not mind the chaos between the grand order and the Royal family and their allies.
However, he was very interested in the information that would be secretly shared in that meeting about the intricacy of the dungeon.
Although he was an incredible person and had abilities beyond human comprehension, he still rather have enough information before heading into danger.
Too much information was never a crime. Besides, it could better ensure that he secured the lives of Ngozi and Amanda who were his women. Eros raised his head to both women.
He was most familiar with the abilities of each one of them. Ngozi could merge herself with the shadows. Her title as an assassin was not just for show.
And Amanda with her naga origins as a snake woman was also good for covert operations. She could sneak into places others could not. Besides, both women’s powers had been amplified after meeting him. Eros was going to use their abilities to his advantage.
"Forgive me, my beautiful ladies, but I will require your assistance." He asked politely.
Both women chuckled lightly, "You don’t have to be formal with us, you know!" Amanda raised a brow at him.
"True!" Ngozi smiled at him, "Just tell us what we should do and we will do it."
Eros nodded with a broad smile on his face. Revenge though they all had their faces hidden under their masks to hide their identities, both women knew that he was smiling at them.
"In that case, I want both of you to go play with the camp of the grand order a little. Disrupt their plans as best as possible. I want you to delay them enough for me to get enough information from the meeting that the royal guards have planned with the other wealthy families."
Both women nodded. "It will be a pleasure!" Amanda crackled her fingers. She was the more violent one.
While Ngozi enjoyed the silence of the darkness. "Good!" Eros waved his hands passing both women little trinkets, each a spacial ring to store items. "You can contact me with these in case of emergency and I also have little gifts that can aid your battles within."
Both women took it with gladness. They knew that anything that came from eros was practically a treasure.
"Don’t worry, when it’s time to use it, you will be able to!" Eros added. "Good! Now let’s go" Instantly, Ngozi merged with the shadow of the night and with a sharp hiss, Amanda changed form from that of a human to a small snake and followed Ngozi.
This transformation was an ability she had acquired after meeting Eros. Eros too went to the camp where the meeting would be taking place.
Under the shroud of an ink-black night, Amanda and Ngozi set out on their mission, the camp of the Grand Order their target. The plan was simple yet daring: infiltrate the camp and sow chaos, delaying their planned raid on the dungeon. With the elements of surprise and darkness as their allies, they moved with a purpose, guided by the moon’s faint glow.
Ngozi, embodying the essence of a shadow, moved with such stealth that not even the dry leaves underfoot dared to betray her presence. Amanda, meanwhile, transformed into a snake, her slender form weaving through the underbrush, her eyes glowing with a predator’s keenness. Together, they were specters in the night, unseen and unheard.
Reaching the periphery of the Grand Order’s camp, they paused, surveying the layout. Guards patrolled the perimeter, their movements lazy and unsynchronized—a testament to the complacency born of perceived security. Ngozi gave Amanda a nod, and in an instant, Amanda reverted to her human form, her features set in a mask of determination.
Their first objective was the kitchen area. It was here that the food for the camp’s soldiers was prepared, a mundane task that was about to become the linchpin in their plan of disruption. Amanda created a distraction, knocking over supplies on the opposite end of the camp, drawing the attention of nearby guards with the clatter. Their heads turned, and they moved to investigate, leaving the kitchen momentarily unguarded.
Seizing the moment, Ngozi slipped into the kitchen. The pouch of dark powder, a gift from Eros, felt heavy in her hand—a symbol of the trust and responsibility bestowed upon her. She moved quickly, her hands steady as she distributed the powder among the pots, the substance dissolving without a trace into the stew and bread dough. The powder was no ordinary laxative; imbued with special properties, it was guaranteed to induce a swift and debilitating effect, ensuring that those who consumed it would be incapacitated.
As the deed was done, Amanda and Ngozi regrouped, slipping away as silently as they had arrived. But their escape was not as smooth as their entry.
The commander for this mission for the grand order was none other than Frown.
And on leaving this place, both women felt the intense force that his aura carried.
This was a different kind of soil pressure.
Although it did not suffocate them or the like, but they still felt it.
After all, this was the pressure of a Person in the peak of the soul Apostle realm.
Near Frown’s command tent, they found themselves cornered, the path back veiled by the sudden appearance of Frown’s personal guards, their faces obscured by veils, their presence emanating a formidable aura.
At the same time, Ngozi’s sharp ears could catch whispers within the tent.
Obviously, Frown was giving out orders to the men under him.
To be precise, to his second in command. After all, he had been given a special task and his aim was to visit the Snake mountain.
According to the words by his master, the red Anchor stone of destruction was in that place, and he needed to get it.
Ngozi wanted to listen more, her assassin instincts getting the better of her, and she leaned too close to the tent.
Unfortunately, Frown suddenly stopped talking as he turned sharply in that direction.
"You dare invade my camp?" His voice was thundering and Ngozi felt the intention for death deep within her very veins.
"Fuck! We need to get out of here." She whispered to Amanda.
It was then that Amanda revealed the device Eros had given her—a small, unassuming artifact that held the power of teleportation.
Eros had spoken the truth. She would know its use once she held it.
Within this device shaped like a smart phone was Eros experimentation with spatial energy.
With a sense of urgency, Amanda activated it, a soft glow enveloping them. In the blink of an eye, they were transported away from imminent capture, reappearing at the edge of the camp, their hearts racing but their mission accomplished.
Meanwhile, the meal for the night had been shared amongst the soldiers of the grand order.
As the camp descended into chaos, with soldiers clutching their stomachs and cursing their fate, Amanda and Ngozi made their retreat.
The sounds of confusion and orders being barked out faded into the distance as they put space between themselves and the camp.
Their operation was a success. The Grand Order’s raid would be delayed, their forces in disarray. With a mix of satisfaction and adrenaline still coursing through their veins, they headed back to rendezvous with Eros, ready to share the tale of their night’s work and the victory they had.
Meanwhile, Frown stepped out of the tent and behind him another figure.
This one had a white mask of tears on his face.
"Should I follow them?" Tears asked...
