Chapter 60: Chapter 60 Splitting the Earth
"Uncle, is it over?"
When Casius resumed his human form, descending step by step from the sky, Noah approached him. As he asked in surprise, he glanced curiously at the giant serpent that had returned to the mountain peak behind his foster father.
"It doesn’t like to fight."
The man’s tone revealed a sense of helplessness. Discovering a powerful being capable of challenging him in battle was certainly delightful, but realizing that the opponent preferred tranquility and disliked combat left him feeling quite frustrated.
After all, the opponent was a Spirit of Nature, not an evil creature filled with a desire for destruction and slaughter. If the opponent didn’t want to fight, he couldn’t force it.
In fact, the reason the Big Snake initially fought with all its strength was because it hadn’t understood his intentions. Once it realized that he was merely a battle-loving brute, the Snake began to hold back.
Defending without attacking, it gradually extinguished the man’s fighting spirit. Such a battle was completely devoid of fun for him, becoming more and more uninteresting.
"Oh!"
Noah understood. The status of a Spirit of Nature was extremely special. Unless necessary, it was best not to incur their wrath, let alone draw weapons against them, as this would invite hostility and rejection from a region.
Only someone like his foster father could wield his sword against a Spirit of Nature without hesitation, simply because it was a worthy opponent.
The most absurd part was that such a reckless action did not incite malevolence from this Spirit of Nature, showing how stable the emotions of this azure-scaled giant serpent truly were. Perhaps having lived long enough, such trivial matters failed to rouse its emotions or provoke its wrath.
"Are they willing to follow you?"
Casius turned his gaze to the group of Cloud Giants. Although he had been contending with the Spirit of Nature in the sky, he had also noticed the changes happening on the Cloud Island.
"Some are willing."
Noah replied, stating that he had selected a total of ten adult Cloud Giants, including Angus. Of course, while it seemed like nine, in reality, it also included the relatives of these Cloud Giants.
In other words, Noah would take away almost half of this Cloud Giant tribe. Notably, the strongest Giant Commander among them was left unselected by Noah.
Though the Giant Commander had discreetly suggested negotiating a contract, in Noah’s eyes, this guy was too arrogant, relying heavily on his own strength.
Even if he signed the contract, he might not be easily commanded. In front of his foster father, this guy would be compliant but wouldn’t carry himself with the demeanor suitable for a follower.
A guy like that, who might not know his place, could cool off elsewhere, as he was merely a Cloud Giant who broke through boundaries—nothing special. Noah could cultivate someone anew.
"Only a portion?"
Casius raised an eyebrow slightly, then noticed many Cloud Giants showing expressions of grievance and reluctance.
"Your Excellency, we all wish to follow Your Highness, but His Highness dismisses us and refuses to form a contract."
The Giant Commander stepped forward. Speaking of grievance, who could compare to him? He had even volunteered himself but was still spurned by the Young Dragon.
"Why are you unwilling?"
"They’re too ordinary."
Noah replied with a reason he himself found nonsensical, and indeed a bit perfunctory.
"This place overlaps with a location that Selena told me about. Besides that, I know three other places where we might find Cloud Giants, but we may not encounter another tribe."
Casius surveyed the Cloud Island Secret Realm, thought for a moment, and then spoke slowly.
"Uncle, what do you mean?"
"If they’re willing, just take them all. If it’s really not feasible, I’ll take you to those other places to have a look."
"Then I’ll follow whatever you say, Uncle."
Noah stretched out his claw, scratching his chin with tiny sparks flying. He didn’t mind, since at his current age, having Cloud Giant followers was wholly reliant on his foster father’s prestige.
Whatever his foster father said was what it would be; after all, his courage to pick and choose comes from his foster father.
But these brief words were astonishing to the Cloud Giants who couldn’t help but show joy. This human, awakened with Titan Bloodline, pampered the Golden Dragon to such an extent that a biological son would receive no more.
"You all tidy up, and once I return, come back with me."
Most Giants owned tangible assets; leaving their homeland was a tough decision for them.
However, the decision to migrate was unanimously passed by all the Giants on the Cloud Island Secret Realm. Not only did they have the chance to follow someone with a Titan Bloodline, but most importantly, their homeland was too dangerous.
No one realized earlier that there was an ancient Spirit of Nature near the tribe. Though it had essentially ignored them, who knew about the future?
A Spirit of Nature was a certain manifestation of natural will, and nature itself is unpredictable. If one day the Big Snake grew angry and attacked, they wouldn’t even be enough to fill its stomach.
The Giants packed their belongings, and Noah followed his foster father to continue searching other locations where traces of Cloud Giants had been seen.
As expected by his foster father, they did not encounter a second tribe of Cloud Giants. The glorious era of Giants had long ended, with various branches scattered around the globe.
Like the Giant Dragons, Giants were rare and scarce species. They could only be seen where ordinary beings could hardly survive or reach.
Even so, Noah was full of joy; this trip had been incredibly fruitful for him—gaining a Cloud Giant tribe, plus a few other Cloud Giant families scattered outside.
Compared to the joy of the Golden Dragon, Casius’s expression remained very calm. In Noah’s eyes, it seemed somewhat lonely, evoking a sense of indescribable solitude.
A warrior with combat desire burning like flames, yet unable to find a suitable opponent.
This was Noah’s understanding of his foster father.
"What do you think of Uther City as your fief?"
Amidst Noah’s swirling thoughts, the man who had brought the Young Dragon back suddenly asked.
"Huh?"
Lost in thought, Noah was momentarily puzzled,
"My fief? Right now I don’t..."
The Golden Dragon, initially instinctively trying to decline, halted. Suddenly, he realized he was no longer in a state of a lone dragon—satisfied and without worries.
He had Giant followers now, setting the Little Fairies among flower fields was ample enough. But a group of giants needed a vast and resource-rich land to sustain them; he indeed needed a fief.
However, Uther City was the origin city of the Augustus family. Such a city wasn’t his to desire; even finding a flat land to build a city from scratch was better than accepting Uther City.
