Chapter 50: Edgar DarkMore
Chapter 50: Edgar DarkMore
A few seconds ago, everyone had just been going through their day when suddenly a screen flashed across their retinas—specifically for those who were believers of the Holy Church.
The content of the message was:
[The individual Gabriel Reyes is now considered an enemy of the Holy Church.]
[Crime: Disrespect to the Church and attacking its members.]
Just below the message was an image of Gabriel.
The people were stunned for several minutes. They exchanged glances. From the shocked expressions on others’ faces, it was easy to tell they had received the exact same message.
In the Realm of Ascendency, once you became a member of any faction, messages and information could be freely passed among one another by the head or higher-ups in the faction, requiring only the consent of some key members.
Such messages weren’t frequent, as there were limits to how many could be sent in a day.
The last time one of these had been sent was about two months ago, hence the reason for their stunned reaction.
"Attack a member of the Church? Who dares?!" a man growled in an angry tone.
"Someone actually dared to attack the most powerful faction in the kingdom? Hahaha! They must be looking for death."
Meanwhile, Gabriel was slightly shocked when he saw the accusation.
He raised a single brow. "A-Attack a member of the Church... did I do that in my sleep?"
Apart from awakening his class and the encounter with two knights, there hadn’t really been any scuffle between him and the Church.
At least not yet.
"Those bastards... why am I even shocked?" Gabriel shook his head with a light chuckle.
What did he expect from one of the most vile organizations that hid under the pretense of righteousness?
At that moment, someone spotted him and pointed.
"Wait— isn’t that him!?"
"Yes! It’s him! Everyone surround him, let’s beat him up!"
"Hahahaha! Fool—you’ll regret your decision!"
Gabriel slowly raised his head, looking at the group surrounding him and grinning like hoodlums who had finally caught their number-one nemesis.
His gaze swept around. Some of them were dressed in knight armor, others in casual clothing, and a few wore robes, which looked out of place in this world—but were common among the Church fanatics.
With slow and measured steps, Gabriel began to walk forward. His eyes were cold and listless.
The first person in his path gulped when those electric-blue eyes stared into the depths of their soul.
They felt their body tremble and, as if on autopilot, moved out of the way.
"Hey, you! Attack him! Why are you all just standing there?" a large man with scars on his face bellowed.
Seeing no reaction from the others, he sneered and charged forward. "Hmph, bunch of weaklings! I’ll do it myself!"
As he walked, Gabriel felt a presence charging toward him from behind like a cannonball.
’Well, it’s always good to set an example with one,’ a smirk appeared on his face as he swiftly turned around. The speed at which he spun was so fast that the man’s eyes shrank in fear—unable to follow his movement.
At the nick of time, without restraining his strength, his fist shot forward in a violent blur, slamming into the opponent’s arm.
BANG! CRACK!
The impact of the clash forced the giant man to reel back, eyes wide with disbelief. A stinging pain radiated from his arm. When he glanced down, his pupils shrank.
Half his arm was obliterated.
"ARGHHHHHHHH!" a painful scream echoed across the square as the large man dropped to the ground, groveling in agony.
"He shattered his arm with one hand!"
"Just... how high is his Strength stat to pull off something like that?!"
The others began to distance themselves even more from the red-haired youth after seeing how he casually destroyed someone’s arm.
Gabriel stepped forward and stomped on the man’s bloody hand, making him yelp in pain.
"Let this be a warning to all of you," he said in a calm voice. "I won’t be so merciful next time."
With that, he quietly left the scene, everyone watching with wide eyes. His words had been brief, but they carried tremendous weight.
This was definitely an incident none of them would forget anytime soon. It was at that moment a new fear awakened in the hearts of the Church’s followers.
As for Gabriel, the only reason he had spared them was because this was within city limits. Killing a citizen was a crime—he would have been apprehended and fined.
Although he expected a fallout with the Church, he hadn’t expected it to happen so soon. Well, he would just have to go with his initial plan: destroy them.
Once again, they had proven how vile and evil they truly were by trying to frame him.
Gabriel’s next destination was naturally the Black Market, where he sold off some of his loot to the ever-happy Damian.
Afterward, he pulled up his system status to check his current progress.

His gaze lingered on his level for a while, and his eyes glinted. ’My suspicion was right... the Berserker class requires more experience points than any other class...to think I only Leveled up three times from all those fighting.’
There was only one way to increase his experience faster—by actively taking on quests.
While lost in thought, he arrived at his original destination, a large building with a bold sign that read:
[Sir Edgar’s Class for Newbies]
Gabriel quickly approached the reception and asked respectfully:
"Sir Edgar’s class?"
The receptionist blinked, then pointed down the hall. "Third door on the left."
"Thanks," Gabriel nodded and walked toward the indicated room. It was a wide hall, filled with several adventurers, all staring at a handsome middle-aged man at the front. They sat with focused attention, their eyes filled with respect.
The man was none other than Edgar DarkMore—
One of the strongest individuals in the capital and...
Gabriel’s eyes flashed sharply. "...A spy."
