"From now on, when we ride the school bus, President, you take the outer seat. I want the one by the window."
Yahashiki suddenly made such a request, after they got off the school bus.
Yan Huan, holding a bunch of gifts, had a somewhat helpless expression,
"Normally, I don’t accept these, so you can just refuse them directly."
Yahashiki turned his head to look at him, his face reddening a bit, he said with an animated gesture,
"How how how... How can I refuse? I’m not you, where would I get that much experience! And wouldn’t it be very impolite to refuse others?"
"It would not be, okay? Or you could just ignore them until I’m awake to deal with it..."
Outside the noisy chatter of various students in the school, a rhythmic construction noise was heard—ding ding dong dong—drawing Yan Huan’s attention.
Looking towards the sound, he saw the silhouette of a nearly completed building in the distant northern section of the campus,
"The school is building again, huh? So noisy early in the morning."
"It looks like it’s a new classroom building. They started construction during the winter break, and it’s expected to be completed this month."
Talking about this and that, Yan Huan and Yahashiki walked to the top floor of a teaching building, which was complete property of the Student Council.
At the end of the corridor, in front of a room, the door plate read,
[Yuanyue Academy Student Council Office]
Yahashiki fumbled at the mailbox hanging at the door, but it came up empty,
"Strange, no documents were delivered this week?"
"How could that be? Today’s Monday."
Every Monday morning the Student Council holds a meeting. This is the reason Yan Huan and Yahashiki didn’t head to their classes but came here instead.
Usually, over the weekend, the school’s administrative organs would send documents to notify the Student Council of the next week’s schedule for them to plan their work.
As to why the mailbox is empty at the moment?
Yan Huan approached the door, while signaling Yahashiki to open it, he said with a smile,
"Vice President Sakuragi is already here."
"Ah? This early?"
Yahashiki pushed the door open, revealing an office space of approximately thirty square meters.
The wooden floor was covered with a wool carpet. Two black sofas surrounded a glass coffee table, upon which a potted plant sat.
There was a sofa against the wall, opposite a row of cabinets stacked with various documents and books.
At the end, curtains were open, and lattice floor-to-ceiling windows let in the morning light, illuminating a slightly large desk by the window sill.
On the desk, a golden nameplate read,
"Yuanyue Student Council President"
Beside the bookshelf nearby stood a girl dressed in a black British-style school uniform.
Her hair, tied up at the back of her head with a simple white ribbon for adornment, had locks at the temples trailing down with a hint of sakura color.
A dark green jacket over a white blouse wrapped around her petite, soft body, with a white bow tie at the shirt collar, adding a touch of beauty.
Beneath the long dark green skirt, white legs peeked out, clad in white socks and black leather shoes that were slightly lifted off the ground—she was dusting the collected dust from the bookshelf with a duster.
Because of her height, she had to stand on her tiptoes to clean the upper shelves.
Upon hearing the door open, she brought her heels back to the floor and turned around, revealing her delicate features.
Her eyes twinkled with liveliness, and a sizing-up look fell on Yan Huan who entered the room holding a big pile of things.
She smiled, looking as beautiful as a fairy,
"Good morning, President, Yahashiki."
"Good morning, Sakuragi."
"Good morning, Vice President Sakuragi."
Yan Huan walked to the coffee table and put down the big pile of things he was holding,
"Sakuragi, see if there’s anything you’d like to eat. Let’s all finish these together."
Sakuragi Hitomi put down the duster, not paying attention to the snacks. Instead, her gaze was captured by a pink envelope.
She picked it up, examining the words on it,
"Dear President Yan Huan!"
Holding the envelope, Sakuragi Hitomi then fixed her gaze on the name written below,
"Class 1-C, Park Shuwen"
The envelope was unconsciously crinkled, and after a moment, she spoke,
"...Hmm, but let’s wait for Yuanlina and Ashley to arrive before eating together."
Then, she set the letter down on the table and went to the tea cart to pour tea.
"Alrighty."
Behind her, Yan Huan and Yahashiki sat on the sofa, sorting the snacks.
Sakuragi Hitomi brought back two cups of hot black tea and placed them in front of Yan Huan and Yahashiki.
"Please enjoy, President, Yahashiki."
"Ah, thanks, Sakuragi."
"Thank you, Vice President!"
Afterward, Sakuragi Hitomi placed two more cups on the coffee table and sat down opposite them, holding a cup in her hand.
Not long after, the door opened again, and a vibrant female voice came in,
"President! Sakuragi! Yahashiki! Good morning!!"
Turning to look, a girl in a JK uniform with gradient dyed pink and red hair strode in confidently,
Her face bore distinctly mixed-race features. Her grinning smile complemented her confident posture, revealing her full body curves.
Behind her followed a tall, blonde-haired girl without much expression, seemingly accustomed to the previous person’s buoyant demeanor,
"Good morning, everyone."
These two were the Student Council Secretary Yuanlina and the Discipline Committee Chairman Ashley.
"Morning, Yuanlina, Ashley."
"Oh! There’s so much good food! Where’d it all come from?"
