Global Lords: Hundredfold Increments Starting With the Undead -
Chapter 1444 - 1014, Giantstone Ruins
"""
Fang Hao stared directly at him.
There was no lie in his words.
But human thoughts have a way of shifting with changing circumstances.
If I were just an ordinary transmigrator and had fallen into his ambush, locked away in a dungeon,
without the power to escape, who knows if he would have gone even further.
Especially since I travel with the Dragon Queen, such a voluptuous woman.
"Teach him a lesson."
Whizz, whizz, whizz!!
Under the stunned gaze of the transmigrator, streaks of golden light pierced through his limbs.
Before he could even cry out, Fang Hao said coldly, "Shut up."
His just-opened mouth snapped shut instantly, though his bulging eyes and his contorted, crimson face displayed the overwhelming pain he was enduring.
Fang Hao grabbed his drooping head and said, "You broke the rules for transmigrators and must be punished. I'm not killing you today—this is your one chance. If it happens again, I'll level your territory."
The transmigrator endured the pain, nodding his head repeatedly.
He was truly terrified.
These two people before him were monstrous, far beyond anything human.
How did I get so foolish, prying into the affairs of the Giantstone Ruins?
What happens there has nothing to do with me; my troops can't even venture inside.
Now, I'm left nodding incessantly, hoping he won't kill me outright.
"I'll keep an eye on you from now on—be a decent person!" Fang Hao patted his shoulder, stood up, and walked out with the Dragon Queen.
Outside the dungeon, a crowd of human soldiers had gathered, armed with spears and iron swords, encircling the entrance tightly.
As the two moved forward, the soldiers retreated bit by bit.
They dared not approach but didn't leave either.
Ordinary soldiers couldn't see the attributes of heroes, but they instinctively understood that these two were far beyond their ability to handle.
Fang Hao didn't want to waste time with them here.
He opened the Gate of the Worlds directly and summoned a Double-Headed Corpse Dragon. With the Dragon Queen in tow, he climbed atop its back.
After verifying the coordinated location, the Corpse Dragon leaped into the air, rocketing toward the target point.
As they departed, the soldiers blocking the dungeon entrance finally rushed inside, shouting.
They rescued their lord and soldiers.
...
The wind roared in Fang Hao's ears as the Corpse Dragon swiftly navigated through the clouds.
Once out of the city, they quickly entered a rugged, forested mountain trail that was challenging to traverse.
Looking down, Fang Hao saw uneven terrain and a canopy of trees so dense it blocked the sky, stretching endlessly into the horizon.
The area resembled an untouched primordial forest.
No wonder "Hulith" said it would take two or three days—on such terrain, you'd need a week.
Thankfully, using a flying mount significantly reduced wasted time.
The Dragon Queen smoothed back her wind-tangled hair and asked, "Why would the map's location be in a place like this?"
Fang Hao shook his head. "It's hard to say. Based on previous map experiences, the locations are always ancient ruins or special places. Because no one visits them, the maps become wild areas for transmigrators to fulfill their exploration and adventure needs."
"Transmigrators enjoy adventuring?"
"Not really. Most transmigrators are cautious by nature. But their progression relies on opening treasure chests. Ordinary adventure maps are simpler than storming a city, so most choose the adventure route." Fang Hao thought for a moment before explaining.
Not every transmigrator is like me.
Many never have the troops to take over a city in their lifetime—instead, they continually explore and venture into maps.
"I get it, but why don't you teleport me to the site when you arrive?" the Dragon Queen asked, tilting her head to gaze at Fang Hao, seated beside her.
Fang Hao grinned as he grabbed her hand and said, "What if there's danger along the way? Just like in the dungeon earlier—that was quite perilous."
The Dragon Queen shook her hand, but seeing him hold firm, she let it be.
"A hundred excuses every day," she continued.
Fang Hao countered, smiling, "I just want to spend more time alone with you."
"Cut it out; you're making me uncomfortable."
Though she complained, she shifted closer to Fang Hao, leaning softly against his chest.
As the two nestled together.
Whizz, whizz, whizz!!
Chunks of stone shot upward like cannonballs.
Their bodies tensed as they looked down to see ogres scouring the ground for rocks to hurl at the Double-Headed Corpse Dragon.
The whistling sound of stones tearing through the air echoed incessantly.
"This place is crawling with ogres—they're everywhere," the Dragon Queen remarked.
Fang Hao focused his gaze on the large group of ogres farther ahead.
Up ahead, hordes of ogres sprinted through the forest like migrating beasts.
Fang Hao compared the map—the direction they were headed matched the target point.
Gently patting the dragon's back, he commanded, "Speed up."
He ignored the ogres throwing stones below and hastened toward the destination.
...
Giantstone Ruins.
A site of crumbled architecture, its stones half-buried in earth, with vines climbing the remains and covering them in a sea of green.
It never had an official name, but due to the towering, grand structures, it was dubbed Giantstone Ruins.
In this rugged terrain, where thick vegetation obscured paths, the ruins stood out with their distinctive presence.
At the moment, fierce fighting and primal roars echoed from the front of the Giantstone Ruins.
Ogres surged out of the dense forest from all directions, launching an assault on the central human encampment.
Their scarlet eyes glimmered with bloodlust.
Like starving wolves spotting plump sheep.
Ogres hurled stones that smashed against the walls. Soldiers unlucky enough to be struck were sent flying by the immense force, spraying blood as their armor crumpled.
More ogres wielded massive clubs, pounding relentlessly on the makeshift walls.
The walls swayed and buckled under the assault.
It was only a matter of time before they gave way or collapsed.
"My lord, at this rate, everyone here will perish," a hero said urgently while striding over.
These wild ogres were simple-minded—they couldn't be reasoned with or bargained with.
To them, the humans in the encampment were nothing more than fresh meat.
The earlier they struck, the sooner they could feast.
The transmigrator lord's face darkened. He glanced back at the ruins and opened the Book of Lords again.
He sent messages to others, warning them that the encampment was surrounded by ogres.
If reinforcements didn't arrive, everyone would die here.
Time crept by.
The ogres seemed to swarm endlessly, emerging in greater numbers. Meanwhile, the defending humans dwindled.
Boom!
With a heavy crash, the wooden walls collapsed, kicking up a cloud of dust several meters high.
The ogres roared with glee and charged inside, tearing into the humans ruthlessly.
Some ogres picked up human corpses, stripped off the armor and clothing, and began feasting hungrily.
The chewing sounds pierced through the shouts and screams in the chaos.
The humans retreated, huddled at the outermost edge.
"Lord, use the scroll—escape while you still can. We can't hold out much longer," the hero urged.
The transmigrator shook his head. "We'll break out together—save as many as we can."
"That's impossible—the ogres know this terrain better than we do. A frontal assault will fail. You still have time; my lord, please flee."
The transmigrator felt his heart shake as his nose grew sour.
As the lord, heroes can be resurrected at the territory altar, but his ordinary soldiers.
They were doomed to perish here.
"I...."
"Go now—time's running out."
"Fine, but I promise I'll return with troops to avenge you all." He nodded and activated the Teleportation Scroll, a Magic Array appearing beneath his feet.
As the Magic Array began forming and his figure started fading.
A massive shadow suddenly loomed in the sky ahead.
Roar~!
A deafening roar shattered the heavens.
Both ogres and human soldiers felt their hearts tremble in fear.
The transmigrator's hand trembled—the scroll fell to the ground.
The Magic Array vanished instantly.
The transmigrator stared wide-eyed and disbelieving at his hand.
It was over. He couldn't leave now.
Why would I fumble at a time like this?
The scroll was wasted.
"It's a dragon..." someone exclaimed.
Everyone looked skyward.
A massive black dragon with two heads appeared.
The Dragon Clan had crossed boundaries into ogre territory.
The transmigrator's gaze sharpened instantly.
He spotted faint human figures on the dragon's back—perhaps there was still hope.
He shouted to the people nearby, "Give me the flag... hurry!"
A bloodstained, cracked flag was handed over.
The transmigrator clenched it tightly and waved it vigorously toward the dragon.
Whoosh~!
The Double-Headed Corpse Dragon descended in the midst of the ogres.
Two figures, one in luxurious robes and the other in flowing garments, leapt from the dragon's back.
They weren't even armored—they looked like two tourists.
The ogres froze for two seconds before their expressions turned wild with excitement.
They roared gleefully.
A swarm of ogres charged at them.
The distant transmigrator's team was stunned.
Was this suicide?
Landing in the middle of the ogres—how would they survive?
Just as the transmigrator prepared to exploit the distraction and lead his people in a breakout.
Rays of bright, golden light repeatedly swept across the battlefield.
The ogres swarming toward them were sliced into neat chunks mid-air.
The pieces rained down.
Covering the ground.
"Oh, Vrak..."
The transmigrator and his soldiers stood frozen, their eyes wide in disbelief.
What just happened?
