Global Lords: Hundredfold Increments Starting With the Undead -
Chapter 1439 - 1009, Traveler of the Netherworld
Undead Desert, the Eternal Sage's Grand Graveyard.
Grand Hall.
Hundreds of high-ranking members of the Undead Clan gathered in the hall, silently waiting.
Soon, within a cold and dim corridor on one side, the Undead High Priest slowly emerged.
The High Priest radiated divine brilliance that seemed to pierce the heavens. He walked directly to the throne, leaning the golden bone staff in his hand against one side of the chair.
As his gaze swept across the undead before him, a dark, soul-piercing chill quickly spread throughout the hall.
Every undead froze instantly. Even though they were already undead, an innate fear of death still arose from the depths of their souls.
This was the power of the God of Death—targeting the deepest fears rooted in one's soul.
All officials of the Undead immediately bowed, saying, "Great Eternal God."
"How did Isolde die?" the Undead God asked solemnly.
Though his voice was soft, it echoed clearly in everyone's minds.
One of the undead officials stepped forward with his head lowered, bowing before he spoke: "According to intelligence from the Trade Alliance, Emperor Isolde died in a private room of the VIP Tower. Along with him were 25 trusted aides and one Dark Gold Hero assigned to guard the Alliance. Suspicion points to a pair of human lovers who had booked the neighboring room on the same floor. They..."
Bang!
The Undead God slammed his palm angrily against the armrest of the throne, intensifying the oppressive atmosphere. All the undead began to bow lower involuntarily.
"Human lovers? Such a sloppy answer—how absurdly fabricated!"
Clearly, the Undead God found this explanation deeply unsatisfactory.
The Undead Emperor Isolde—he was the supreme leader of the Undead Clan, possessing demigod-level strength.
Bound by the laws of this primary dimension, who could silently and effortlessly kill him?
Let alone some trivial human lovers.
If a random pair of human lovers could assassinate an undead demigod, then the long-standing war between humans and undead would have ended long ago.
The undead official bent even lower and mumbled, "We are currently investigating the Trade Alliance and the dwarves. There's a possibility that the two cooperated to orchestrate this plan."
A union between the Trade Alliance and the dwarves could indeed muster the strength to kill Isolde.
But what purpose would that serve?
Furthermore, if they truly were responsible, why would it be this obvious?
The Undead God fell into brief silence before finally speaking: "Continue the investigation, and demand a reasonable explanation from the Trade Alliance."
"Understood, Great Deity."
The Undead God continued, "What is the situation with the internal wars?"
Another armored official stepped forward and responded, "Most disturbances from transmigrators have been quelled, but on the northern front, a peculiar Eternal Army has breached the Deep Sands Outpost and is approaching the main city."
"A peculiar undead army?"
"Indeed. A force of unknown origin displaying immense combat power."
The Undead God was briefly silent before nodding and replying, "Send reinforcements there. I will personally monitor the battle in that area."
"Understood."
Having addressed these matters, the Undead God shifted his gaze back to the crowd below.
He spoke again, "Nala!"
A female wandering spirit floated out from the congregation.
She approached the center of the hall swiftly and bowed slightly, saying, "Great Eternal God."
[Underworld Walker - Nala (Demigoddess)].
The God of Death nodded before announcing, "From now on, you are the leader of the Undead Desert. Quell the internal unrest and find out the truth behind Isolde's death."
"Yes, Lord Deity." Nala bowed once more.
The Undead God nodded again and withdrew his divine presence, while the Undead High Priest rose and vacated the throne.
He addressed the crowd further: "Lady Nala, the coronation ceremony will take place in two days."
Nala floated to the throne, transforming her ghostly form into a physical entity before taking her seat.
"Alright, make preparations as instructed by the deity."
"Understood."
The crowd of undead nodded collectively and exited the hall.
...
Crunch!
A torrential downpour was accompanied by lightning and thunder.
The sky was veiled in thick clouds, and the howling winds knocked the skeleton guards about haphazardly.
Such heavy rain had suddenly fallen overnight.
Fang Hao stood by the window, observing the storm and the ominous sky outside.
It seemed like around this same time last year, there had been a similarly heavy rainfall. Several transmigrators' cities, lacking proper drainage systems, had been flooded.
For cities in low-lying areas, some even had to purchase small boats to get through those days.
At the time, there was a sudden surge in boat sales.
After observing for a while, Fang Hao descended to the main hall.
Amanda and Cleolando were already waiting in the hall.
[Gold Eating Queen - Amanda (Demigoddess)].
Indeed, after absorbing the divinity, Amanda's rank had upgraded to demigod status.
"Lord."
"Mr. Fang Hao."
The two stood and greeted him respectfully.
Fang Hao walked over and remarked, "Hmm, it seems the absorption process went smoothly. This is the Undead Emperor's divinity; absorbing it grants demigod-level power. Familiarize yourself with it once you return."
Amanda nodded solemnly, thanking him once again, "Thank you for your support, my lord."
"It's nothing."
Beside her, Cleolando glanced at Amanda enviously, feeling regretful for not joining Fang Hao earlier.
If only he'd teamed up with Fang Hao sooner, perhaps this divinity from the Undead Desert would have been his.
Though he wasn't sure whether the divinity would affect a transmigrator, Fang Hao's extraordinary powers were definitely a result of its influence.
"If there's nothing else, we'll take our leave and continue the march," Amanda said.
"Alright, head back and report any issues to me promptly."
"Understood."
The two departed without lingering.
Under a golden rain-formed umbrella, they briskly made their way toward the Troop Hiding Cave.
Fang Hao poured himself a cup of tea and sat in the hall, scrolling through the regional chat channel.
"Why is the rain so heavy again? Can't even go outside."
"Today's group plans have been ruined."
"Selling fishing boats! Trustworthy seller here."
"Rain avoidance tips: Head to the Trade Alliance's settlement. I'm currently there, and the sunshine is perfect. Just wait until the rain stops before heading back."
Everyone was complaining about the rain, and someone even suggested going to the Trade Alliance settlement to avoid it.
The Trade Alliance settlement wasn't within the local region.
In other words, while it was raining here, the Trade Alliance might have clear weather.
It actually sounded like a pretty good idea.
Soon, several people responded and planned to head to the Trade Alliance settlement for respite instead of enduring the storm.
Fang Hao watched this unfold, debating whether to head to the Trade Alliance himself to avoid the rain. Yesterday, he'd gone shopping with the Dragon Queen, and there was an unusual sweetness reminiscent of romantic dates.
This strange feeling lingered in his mind.
As he pondered, the Dragon Queen happened to descend from upstairs.
"What are you up to?"
"With two pieces of demigod-level divinity in my hands now, who do you think I should give them to? Keeping them seems pointless."
"Two? How did you end up with two?"
