The VIP lounge was more like a restaurant's private room than a hotel suite.

Fang Hao ordered some food and drinks, and the two ate while keeping an ear on the outside commotion.

"The food here isn't any worse than Eira's cooking," the Dragon Queen remarked as she tasted a dish.

Eira's culinary skills had rapidly improved thanks to a variety of rare ingredients.

In terms of craftsmanship ranking, she could already be considered a Grandmaster.

In any major faction, reaching the level of Grandmaster was enough to earn one a respected status, comparable to high-level heroes.

But in the Trade Alliance, a place without money constraints, hiring a chef of Grandmaster level was fairly standard.

"This is the Trade Alliance, after all. Also, if the food wasn't good, who would come here?" Fang Hao commented.

"These little dwarves do have money. Have you ever thought about robbing them?" The Dragon Queen picked up a piece of meat and placed it into her mouth.

"With our current power, what would we even do with that much money?"

"Hmm, if we were going to rob them, we would've done it ages ago."

Fang Hao glanced at her. "How do you know I haven't robbed them before?"

The Dragon Queen paused mid-bite, looking at him curiously.

Could it be that Fang Hao had robbed the Trade Alliance in the past?

The thought was bold, especially considering he hadn't ascended to godhood at the time.

"I've really underestimated your audacity."

Fang Hao was about to respond when the sound of hurried footsteps echoed from outside the door.

The room's door wasn't completely shut, leaving a sizable gap through which the sounds from the hallway could be clearly heard.

It sounded like quite a number of people were moving through the corridor.

Fang Hao stood up and peeked outside.

He saw the staircase filled with a large number of undead soldiers entering a distant private room.

The private room was on the same floor but not directly adjacent to theirs.

He shut the door again and returned to his seat at the table.

The Dragon Queen continued, "They've arrived?"

"Yes, undead have shown up. Didn't see any dwarves; they're in the room near the staircase," Fang Hao replied.

"Should we go now?"

"No rush. Let's finish eating first. The food here is expensive."

The Dragon Queen shot him a look. "Still eating? What's there to eat? Focus on the task at hand!"

Fang Hao nodded, stuffed two more bites of food into his mouth, then grabbed his coat. The Dragon Queen rose as well, taking her sun hat.

When they opened the door, the Dragon Queen looped her arm through his.

The two of them, looking like an affectionate couple, walked together toward the staircase.

Ahead, a group of skeleton soldiers had already gathered, guarding the entrance to a private room.

No need to guess—there was no doubt the Immortal Emperor was inside.

"This area is off…" two undead began to halt them.

Swish! Swish!

Two golden rays shot through their skulls, piercing their foreheads.

With a clattering sound, the bones collapsed into a heap on the floor.

The other skeleton soldiers looked down at their fallen comrades and began to draw their weapons, ready to act.

Swish, swish, swish—!

Golden rays fired persistently, instantly reducing over twenty skeleton guards to piles of white bones scattered across the floor.

Fast and precise.

The commotion wasn't enough to draw anyone else's attention.

The two stepped over the scattered bones and stood directly in front of the door.

With a gentle push, the door swung open.

Inside, the private room looked no different from the one Fang Hao and the Dragon Queen were using.

Sitting at the dining table were two undead heroes, one seated and one standing.

[Immortal Emperor - Isolde (Demigod)]

[Fearbringer - Nadir (Dark Gold, Tier Eight)]

The Immortal Emperor was a living dead undead wearing a golden undead robe. He donned a tall golden crown and held a golden staff inlaid with a fist-sized gray orb at the top.

Particularly striking was the gray orb, as large as an infant's head.

Seated in his chair, he exuded an aura of imperial majesty.

At his side stood his armored guard, Fearbringer.

Fang Hao had encountered him before. He was one of the undead sentinels stationed at the Trade Alliance. Last time, when Rolana and the Dragon Queen had clashed, Fearbringer had led troops in an attempt to stop them.

That time, the Dragon Queen had wiped out a large portion of his soldiers with just two skills, forcing him to retreat in shame.

Unexpectedly, today he had become the Immortal Emperor's bodyguard, accompanying him in person.

It even came with a bonus.

Upon noticing Fang Hao and the Dragon Queen's entrance, the two undead momentarily froze in surprise.

They weren't dwarves, and despite so many guards at the door, humans had somehow barged in.

After a brief moment of shock, they realized something was amiss.

Before they could react, that man spoke: "Isolde, Nadir, you cannot control your bodies."

As his words fell, both undead froze abruptly.

One seated and the other standing, both were paralyzed, their shriveled eyes darting around in evident unease and terror.

"Looks like they've got some valuable items," the Dragon Queen remarked, picking up the staff to inspect it.

Fang Hao cast a casual glance her way. "It's a Dark Gold staff."

[Supreme Undead (Dark Gold)]

The Immortal Emperor had quite the collection of treasures in his possession.

Dressed in gold, the undead sitting in the chair seemed to recognize the Dragon Queen. Even through his sunken eyes, one could see his shock and astonishment.

Fang Hao ignored his silent plea to speak.

He retrieved the Doomsday Battle Axe from his storage space.

The moment the battle axe appeared, an oppressive force targeting the soul filled the room, creating a suffocating sense of impending doom for everyone inside.

Fang Hao turned to the Dragon Queen while gripping the battle axe. "Anything else you want to handle?"

"No."

Fang Hao nodded and, without hesitation, swung the battle axe, decapitating Fearbringer.

Thud, roll, roll, roll!

The desiccated head, still encased in a helmet, fell to the ground and rolled to the Immortal Emperor's feet.

Fang Hao then stepped up to the Immortal Emperor himself. As the undead's eyes darted frantically in terror, Fang Hao raised the axe and brought it down on his neck.

The Immortal Emperor's eyes widened in disbelief as his head separated from his body.

The corpse collapsed, disintegrating into a pile of gray ash and vanishing without a trace.

Left amidst the scattered dust was a Level 0 Divinity.

Fang Hao collected all the equipment from the two corpses and walked out of the room.

The Dragon Queen once again looped her arm through his, and the two descended the staircase together.

"Heading back?"

"We rarely get to go out alone. Let's stroll around a bit, then head back when we're tired."

"What's there to see?" the Dragon Queen muttered, though her arm tightened around his as a radiant, content smile spread across her face, as if she were a shy bride.

The two walked hand in hand down the stairs, just in time to see a team of dwarves ascending.

No need to guess—it was obvious this was the dwarven delegation.

Fang Hao made way for them, acting like an ordinary, humble civilian.

The dwarves didn't even glance at them and continued upstairs.

Fang Hao, still holding the Dragon Queen's hand, quickly left the VIP lounge.

Not long after they left, chaos erupted in the lounge.

It seemed the scattered white bones and the Immortal Emperor's disappearance had caught the attention of the dwarves and the Trade Alliance.

The death of a faction leader on their premises was a grave matter.

The undead were unlikely to take this lying down, potentially accusing the dwarves and even going to war with them.

The Dragon Queen tightened her grip on his arm, speaking softly: "Where to next?"

"I heard a new commercial street has opened nearby with lots of new shops. Let's visit them one by one."

"Sounds good!" The Dragon Queen adjusted her sun hat and beamed cheerfully.

The two wandered off, hand in hand, exploring the streets.

...

By the time they returned to the main city, it was already nightfall.

The Dragon Queen reverted to her dignified and aloof demeanor as the leader of the Dragon Clan.

Meanwhile, Fang Hao opened the Book of Lords and contacted Cleolando, who remained engaged in the battles in the Undead Desert.

"How's the situation on your end?"

Soon, a message came back.

"We've already passed the 'Deep Sands Outpost' and are continuing the march per Queen Amanda's orders without pause."

That was the thing about the undead.

They didn't need rest or food.

This drastically reduced logistical burdens, allowing for prolonged marches.

Fang Hao thought for a moment, glancing at the Dragon Queen, who was sipping wine and reading comics beside him.

He continued his private communication with Cleolando: "Ask Amanda if she can take a break and come to the main city through the Gate of the Worlds."

After more than ten minutes, Cleolando replied: "Queen Amanda is currently scouting for a camp location. She'll come to the main city via the Three-Headed Dagger when she's ready."

"All right."

The wait stretched into late night.

Most of the maids had already retired to their rooms, leaving only Fang Hao, the Dragon Queen, and Rolana, who never slept at night.

Amanda arrived in the hall with Cleolando accompanying her.

Both looked dusty and travel-worn, though their spirits seemed relatively good.

"My lord, Dragon Queen, Miss Rolana," the two greeted.

"Take a seat."

Once they were seated, Fang Hao addressed them: "The Immortal Emperor is dead. The undead faction will undoubtedly descend into chaos for a while. Take this opportunity to accelerate your offensive."

Upon hearing this, Amanda and Cleolando turned to Fang Hao in astonishment.

"My lord, are you saying the ruler of the Undead Desert, the Immortal Emperor, has been slain by you?" Amanda asked for confirmation.

"Yes, he died today," Fang Hao replied, pulling out the Divinity he had retrieved. "Amanda, this is the Immortal Emperor's Divinity. It's yours now. By absorbing it, you can ascend to the rank of Demigod."

Amanda froze, her expression utterly blank.

Not only had Fang Hao actually killed the Immortal Emperor, but he was also relinquishing the Divinity to her for use.

A Divinity from the ruler of the undead… Anyone who absorbed it could become the next Emperor.

She stared in a daze for a long time before finally kneeling, setting her staff to the ground and bowing deeply. "Thank you, my lord, for your constant support and guidance."

Although the undead didn't express emotion as vividly as living creatures, Amanda still felt Fang Hao's unwavering help ever since he'd rescued her from the graveyard.

Every achievement she had made—reclaiming Anglina included—was thanks to his assistance.

This gratitude far exceeded what a mere subordinate owed their lord.

"Stand up. Just work hard for the territory in the future," Fang Hao said.

"Yes, my lord."

Fang Hao handed the Divinity to her, and Amanda rose to accept it.

"All right, stay in the main city tonight to absorb the Divinity. The Immortal Emperor's equipment will also be given to you later. Cleolando, you can rest in the city as well."

"Yes, my lord."
