Chapter 86: Let me hug you
Chapter 86: Let me hug you
Rainy was good in every way, but she had poor eyesight. She was squinting her eyes as she walked into the backstage section.
Cecilia smiled; she was still so careless.
Selina, on the other hand, felt relieved when she saw Rainy walk backstage. She thought a weight was lifted off her chest, and now she needed Richard to give her a shoulder and leg massage.
As she looked over, she caught sight of Richard talking to Diana.
Her mood soured.
She didn’t really like Richard. From a young age, due to her family background and striking looks, she had never been short of male suitors and was always the center of attention at school. However, this only lasted until she entered college. Her spotlight had been taken away by Diana, who had a better background and a nicer personality.
Feeling increasingly unsettled, she began snatching away Diana’s boyfriends. Richard was easy to win over; it took no effort to steal him.
But... she couldn’t accept that her own "dog" had gone back to its original owner.
With that thought, she found herself standing in front of Richard.
"What are you doing here?"
Richard glanced at Selina, then at Diana, unsure of who he should try to appease.
At this point, Selina’s sidekick spoke up.
"Selina, Teacher Rainy remembers you. I’m sure you will meet many more excellent men in the future. Richard just isn’t worth it."
Richard’s eyes lit up. If Rainy remembered Selina, then that meant her family’s influence was greater than he had thought.
After some thought, he answered, "I came to warn Diana to stop vying for the top spot against you."
Selina was satisfied with his response. A well-behaved dog indeed.
With an air of generosity, she looked at him and said, "I’ll try to get you a spot with Teacher Rainy."
He looked delighted and went over to affectionately wrap his arm around Selina’s waist.
On the other hand, Diana found the sight disgusting.
"See, Diana? Your family has fallen, and only Selina’s family can afford to invite Teacher Rainy. She’s the real deal."
Cecilia raised her eyebrows. "Is that so?"
As they spoke, Rainy had spotted Cecilia and quickly walked over to her.
"What are you doing here?"
Selina thought Rainy was talking to her, clearing her throat before responding, "Teacher Rainy, I was just dealing with an industry disgrace..."
However, she was cut off before she could finish.
"Master, what are you doing here?"
With that, Rainy walked straight over to Cecilia and, in front of everyone, hugged her tightly.
"Oh Master, I’ve missed you so much!"
Cecilia forcefully pushed Rainy away, then pointed at the surprised Diana.
"I’m here today for her. My... Sister."
Introducing her own family felt a bit strange to Cecilia.
Rainy, however, had already hugged Diana.
"Good sister, let me hug you."
Cecilia was speechless. She had long suspected this, but wasn’t this girl a bit too affectionate?
After enough hugging, Rainy released Diana and then asked the stunned Selina, "By the way, what were you saying about disgrace?"
Rainy had returned to her aloof demeanor.
Selina quickly swallowed back her words.
"Nothing... Teacher Rainy, did you say she’s your... Master?"
Rainy looked at her quizzically before replying, "Yes, is there a problem?"
Selina had an ugly expression, but only dared to shake her head.
"No, no problem at all."
On the other hand, Richard’s expression was even more sour, as if he had swallowed a fly. He felt like a clown.
After all that choosing, he had still picked the wrong one.
Selina was still in disbelief as she tentatively asked, "Then, Teacher Rainy, about the lesson we agreed on..."
"I already rejected that. If you still want to attend, you will have to ask for my master’s permission."
Rainy didn’t mind as long as Cecilia was okay with it.
Cecilia shrugged.
"You just need to see if Diana agrees. Rainy will be coaching her in the future, so any guest spots are up to her to decide."
Everyone was surprised, and they began whispering about Selina.
"So Teacher Rainy had already rejected her..."
"Who would’ve thought Diana was the truly capable one..."
Selina felt like she was being roasted alive.
She pursed her lips. Her pride couldn’t let her ask further, so she only said, "I’m not feeling well today. I’ll leave first."
With that, she left with a sour face. After some hesitation, Richard also followed behind.
If he stayed any longer, he would likely face the same humiliation.
After they left, the group enjoyed a delightful evening as many well-known musicians expressed interest in Diana, hoping she would join their companies.
As the party ended, Rainy wanted to cling to Cecilia, who had dismissed her with disdain. The three ended up going home in different directions.
Cecilia waited at the party exit for Edwin to pick her up. Suddenly, a black car pulled up as a pair of large hands yanked her inside.
Just as she was about to fight back, she heard a familiar voice.
"Miss Morrison, if you want my son, don’t move a muscle."
