It had been a heavy downpour for the past few days, and the entrance surveillance cameras had some water droplets on them. Furthermore, it was pitch black outside the door, so Steven and Cecilia stared at the monitor for quite a while.

Cecilia pointed to the small figure bending over and peering through the door crack with uncertainty as she said, "Is that... Emma, my daughter?"

That unique way of watching something exciting could only belong to Emma; Cecilia was sure of it. She would not make a mistake in recognizing her own daughter.

Steven tapped lightly on the coffee table beside him, observing the little figure in the monitor that resembled his son. He joked, "Your daughter? Miss Morrison, please inform me in advance next time if you are bringing your kids here. That way, I can prepare.

"Sneaking around at someone’s doorstep and spying on them isn’t what good children do."

Realizing this was her fault, Cecilia didn’t respond.

These two were causing such a big commotion that the kids couldn’t even continue staying there.

He huddled Emma and Alex together as he replied, "Oh, they’re just dating."

Emma was overjoyed to hear this and grabbed her brother’s hand. "That’s great, Brother! If Mommy and Daddy are dating, they can get married soon~"

Alex revealed a rare smile. "Yes!"

Ethan looked at the two innocent kids and clicked his tongue.

Naughty kids, indeed. However, their smiles were really identical; it was no surprise that nobody realized it whenever they switched places before.

It was time for them to leave now; it wouldn’t be good for the kids to witness the rest of this.

Just as he was about to leave, a cold voice suddenly came from the monitor behind him.

"Ethan Lawrence, come upstairs with Alex to see me immediately."

Hearing this, Ethan broke out in a cold sweat.

"And you, Emma Morrison, stay right there and don’t move."

Emma suddenly stopped in her tracks. ‘Oh no, it’s Mommy’s voice. I’ve been caught!’

A minute later, Ethan and Alex were standing obediently in front of Steven, who sat on the sofa with a dark yet unreadable gaze.

At this moment, Alex was self-righteous. His uncle couldn’t just bear all the blame!

Steven’s eyes suddenly turned cold. "Nonsense!"

The shout almost made Ethan kneel.

"Big Brother, I’m sorry. I won’t do it again. You can punish me however you want..."

Whenever he made mistakes, Ethan would go through a standard routine of crying, begging, and apologizing.

But before he could even begin, Steven interrupted him.

"No racing for half a year for you."

"Sam, take Alex to bed."

As Butler Sam took Alex away, Ethan was about to leave when Steven stopped him.

"I can understand Alex mistaking that woman for a mother, but how could you get caught up in that kid’s trick? You’re not that familiar with her yet, are you?"

Ethan swallowed hard. ‘Wasn’t this all because I wanted to bring you two together as soon as I can? That way, when you finally learn about the twins, you won’t blame me too much?’

After some contemplation, he hesitantly replied, "Big Brother, haven’t you ever sensed some form of familiarity with Miss Morrison?"

This was the only hint he could give Steven.

Steven frowned, recalling moments earlier when they fell to the floor, especially Cecilia’s flushed cheeks and her lips that he had almost kissed.

Some form of familiarity? Perhaps... a bit.

But where would they have met before...

In the yard, Cecilia stood in front of Emma with a serious look.

"Tell me, who planned this?"

Emma had never seen Cecilia so stern, immediately bursting out into tears.

She replied through sniffles, "It was Uncle Ethan... but don’t blame him, we planned it together..."

Seeing her tears, Cecilia’s heart softened. She wasn’t truly angry, just worried about her.

She hugged Emma gently and soothed her. "Mommy isn’t mad at you. Mommy just wants you to be safe, and remember, you mustn’t call someone else Daddy or Uncle carelessly, okay?"

Emma nodded tearfully.

"Good girl. Mommy will treat you to your favorite little cakes!"

Just as Cecilia brought Emma into the car, Zane hurried over.

"Bad news! Nathan has brought his people to cause trouble in Madam Lawrence’s ward!"
