Getting a Sugar Mommy in Cultivation World!!
Chapter 695 - 695: Broken Illusion

Yin Qi stopped flying when she felt the air around her body growing heavier. Her eyes dilated as she watched the golden bead in her hands turn into small, bite-size, illusionary butterflies before flying away from her grasp.

She could only stare blankly as they disappeared from her sight.

"Sometimes, I can hardly guess what you must feel thinking that you almost have something you really want and it gets taken away from you at the last second." The unknown voice sounded again, startling Yin Qi.

"Senior, please don't play jokes with this junior." She forced herself to appear composed and came up with an excuse. "That is a relic of my sect, which had been lost through time. I will really appreciate it if Senior will let this junior return it to the sect."

Despite her pleading tone, her hand reached out for the weapon at her waist, her eyes darting around the area, searching for the signs of the attacker.

"Our Flaccid Sword Sect will be grateful to the senior and grant him any wish he desires."

Following her offer, which was a clear attempt to scare the person with the power behind her, an amused chuckle echoed in the area. The laughter shivered through Yin Qi's spine.

"I would play around more, but you are not even real, so let's end this." Before she could even make out what the person meant by those words, she saw something incredible happening.

Creak—

Like the bead she had been holding before, the reality around her started to change. It cracked like a broken mirror and shattered into flapping fragments. The sky, the forest below, and even Gong Ho behind her turned out to be part of the illusion.

The reality started to set in…

She was no longer flying in the air but instead standing on the ground—in the middle of the forest!

Her heart almost leaped out of her chest when she realized where she was. Gong Ho was now lying on the ground, his head placed on his body like some sort of decoration.

She looked around, spinning on the spot, and saw nothing but an endless array of green, towering trees.

Just when she took a step towards running away from the pool place, the voice sounded again—this time, it was behind her.

"You cannot leave this place even if you'd like to. This is the heart of the territory of one of the strongest spirit beasts in the jungle."

She snapped back and saw him standing there, leaning against the ground.

Noah chuckled, seeing the bewildered look on her face, "I must say, I never thought there would be such an artifact in his treasury and that you would be the one to take it out of it."

He tossed the golden bead in his hand as if he were playing with a toy ball.

"From the way you were saying that this was your ticket to changing your life, I guess you might have an inkling as to what this little thing is capable of."

Yin Qi looked at Noah warily; whenever she saw him playing with the bead, she got an urge to snatch it off of his dead body, but with that thought came a flaring warning of dread.

The idea of even lifting a finger against the man in front of her made her feel drenched in sweat.

"How long have you been following me?" She trembled at his words more than she feared her instincts; those words were ones she had spoken in a closed room, and she never expected anyone to know about them.

"I wasn't following you." Noah pocketed the bead and clasped his hand behind his back.

"I have been keeping an eye on the city, hoping to see something interesting happen, and guess my reaction when someone came to rent the room in the hotel I was staying in, not only that but the one room that was right below mine."

In Yin Qi's eyes, Noah's smile resembled nothing short of demonic laughter, mocking her for her actions.

"I even used an array for privacy. How could you have—" Gritting through her teeth, she tried to keep talking, but instead she felt a deep metallic taste appearing on her lips.

Confused, she looked down and touched her lips only to see blood on them. Not only that, she even saw the neckline of her robes covered in blood.

Clang! Ting!

Feeling the tightening sensation around her neck, Yin Qi saw a string of metal wire wrapped around her neck, attached to the trees around her.

Realization dawned on her when she looked at Noah with hatred.

"Don't look at me like that. I told you this is the territory of one of the most powerful beasts."

Noah raised his hands in mock surrender and showed that he had no control over that metal wire.

Yin Qi could only curse in her heart as she felt the grip around her neck tighten. Her eyes went wide as she tried to unwrap the wire, but it kept tightening until it went through her head, sending it flying through the air.

Thud!

Her decapitated head shot up and fell down, creating an arc of blood showers. It rolled down the grass for a few seconds, leaving a trail of red lines.

Noah looked up from the corpse and saw the thing responsible for the art below, perched up on the huge web nest woven between the tree barks with shiny metal-like silk thread.

The 20-foot-tall Rank 4 beast stared at Noah with its 32 eyes and let out a chilling hiss.

But it never attacked him; in fact, a second later it did not even dare to look at him, let alone hiss at him.

Noah moved his reptilian eyes away from the beast and turned to the side as they slowly returned to normal.

"Aren't you going to come out and greet me?" He leaned his head backwards and asked with boredom.

Silence lingered for a moment; no response came back, but Noah did not look away from the spot until a figure stepped out from the shadows of the trees.
