Chapter 371: Gravity Tower
He couldn’t help but sigh as the numerous ancient treasures seemed to be coming out of that secret realm that is beyond Rion’s strength and comprehension.
Just like the Gravity Tower here, it seems to have surpassed the level of divine treasure. He had seen many high-level divine treasures, but nothing compared to it; it had the mysterious power that even he couldn’t understand.
If the transcended overlords from the universe knew that such treasure was lying in a Void god-level empire, they all would come quickly to destroy it and take it forcefully.
From what he knows, treasures surpassing Divine rank are extremely rare, so not every transcended can possess them.
They steadily walked towards it, as quite a lot of people were gathered around it. From the crowd, it can be seen this place has become a gathering spot for young fledgling geniuses to old experienced warriors as they came here to improve.
They flocked here with the same purpose — to temper themselves under the crushing gravity within the tower.
It had become a new proving ground for the ambitious.
"Let’s go." Apollo said so, as he also wanted to see to what extent this gravity tower can reach. And he also wanted to feel the mysterious power of transcended treasure.
His guardian silently followed, his expression steady but alert.
As they approached the entrance, the crowd parted naturally, though no one quite understood why they instinctively moved aside. It wasn’t a visible pressure but something deeper — a subconscious warning in the bones of those nearby. Their bodies simply refused to block Apollo’s path.
At the tower’s registration area, an attendant welcomed them with a practised smile. But his voice trembled the moment he met Apollo, and instinctively he didn’t dare to look.
However, as the attendant here, he had seen quite a lot of extraordinary people; he quickly calmed down. "Honoured guests... This is the Gravity Tower’s trial registry. May I know what level of gravity trial you wish to attempt?"
Apollo glanced at the towering structure, his gaze indifferent but probing, as if he could see through the countless layers hidden within the stone and runes.
His faint smile lingered as he casually asked, "What’s the highest gravity level currently cleared?"
The attendant quickly gathered his composure, though cold sweat still clung to his back. "The highest officially cleared is the 89th floor, sir. Few have managed to reach that far. It is said that the gravity on that floor exceeds several hundred thousand times the normal pull, and even top Void god realm ancestors have failed to endure it. Most Void gods can barely handle the 60th to 70th floor before being crushed."
Apollo’s smile deepened, his eyes flickering with a trace of interest.
"Then..." His gaze briefly swept over the tower’s peak. "Let’s start from the 90th floor."
The attendant’s face froze, and the surrounding cultivators who had gathered to watch couldn’t help but stiffen, eyes wide with disbelief.
"W-what? The 90th floor directly? Sir, I must caution you... Usually only cultivators who have successfully stayed on the earlier floors are eligible to attempt the higher floors. The gravitational layers intensify drastically with each step. Without adaptation, even peak powerhouses might suffer irreparable injuries—"
Apollo lightly waved his hand, and an invisible ripple of power instantly silenced the attendant’s words.
"There’s no need for the lower levels," he said calmly. "Just open the path."
The guardian beside him said nothing, only silently watching as if this level of dominance from Apollo was perfectly normal.
The attendant, overwhelmed by the suffocating pressure that seemed to come from nowhere, could only nod stiffly and quickly arrange for direct entry to the 90th floor, something that had never been done before.
Gasps and hushed whispers rippled through the crowd. As the words between Apollo and the attendant were heard by nearby people.
"Who is that? Going straight to the 90th... that’s suicide!"
"Does he have a death wish, or is his brain damaged?"
"Even Void gods cannot reach such a level?"
Apollo didn’t care; he paid the required fee and went straight into the Gravity Tower.
Inside the tower, the ancient runes flared to life as he stepped onto the teleportation array. The attendant’s hand trembled as he activated the mechanism.
With a flash of light, Apollo and his guardian disappeared, reappearing in a vast, dark chamber — the 90th floor.
The crushing force descended immediately.
It was a suffocating pressure that could flatten mountains, twist space, and shatter divine bodies. Even void god-level cultivators would find it impossible to endure without careful preparation.
But he and the guardian remained standing calmly like it was nothing.
"Hmm. It isn’t just simple gravity."
Although the gravity was more than a hundred thousand times outside, that wasn’t the important thing; it seemed to have the same suppressing effect on his soul.
Not only that, but it also seemed his divine essence was actually sealed, so even with his peak eternal god-level strength, he could not forcefully break free.
The guardian beside him clenched his fists briefly, testing the restriction, and then exhaled slowly. "My divine essence... it’s completely sealed. Even my soul feels like it’s trapped in chains."
Apollo’s eyes gleamed with faint interest. "That’s the true mystery of this tower. It doesn’t simply weigh you down—it isolates you from your core power, forcing you to rely purely on your will and your physique."
He took a slow step forward.
Boom!
The ground beneath his feet cracked faintly, but it wasn’t just from his weight—it was from the very layer of the space groaning under his casual movement.
His lips curved slightly, "—the ability to survive when stripped of all external power."
The suppression of his soul wasn’t perfect, but it was profound.
Apollo’s voice was calm, as if they were discussing the weather. "Then we’ll go higher."
His foot lifted—and in the next instant, he disappeared, ascending the staircase that spiralled around the chamber’s edge.
The 91st floor greeted him with a doubled gravity that seemed to crush even light itself. The air was thick, the very fabric of space compressed until it hummed with a low, threatening vibration.
And yet... Apollo walked as if strolling through a gentle breeze.
Step by step, he ascended.
92nd floor.
93rd floor.
94th floor.
