Genius Noble With System -
Chapter 239: Victory
Chapter 239: Victory
His current ranking was enough for the challenge, so not waiting for any more, he quickly sent the challenge request. But it wasn’t going to be immediately accepted; he might need to wait a few days, which he can wait.
He came out from the Dimension Battle world for two days and went to rest waiting for the guy to accept his challenge.
Two days later, the challenge was accepted, and he was ready to face the millionth genius in the universe.
He quickly entered the Dimension Battle world. The notification he had been waiting for appeared in his vision.
[Challenge Accepted. Preparing the arena for your battle.]
A faint smile crossed his lips. "Finally," he murmured.
Without hesitation, he appeared in the arena. Unlike the last battle, this time, the arena seemed darker, with a strange, oppressive atmosphere.
Not only that, this time, the arena wasn’t empty but was almost filled with millions of people sitting in the crowd, making the atmosphere more electric, filled with pressure and excitement.
Apollo was well aware of the significance of this match, as it naturally drew widespread interest. Opting against a private duel, he chose a public match instead. Although it would garner attention, he would also receive a percentage of the profits generated from the duel—making it a lucrative opportunity as well.
At that time, finally, a portal appeared in the middle of the arena, and the crowd immediately became silent. All their eyes gathered at the centre.
From the portal emerged Apollo’s opponent—a towering figure who exuded an overwhelming presence. Clad in sleek, jet-black armour covered with mysterious runes, his very steps seemed to leave faint cracks on the ground. His crimson eyes scanned the arena like a predator assessing his prey.
[Opponent: Arion, the Crimson Blade]
[Rank: 1,000,000]
Arion’s weapon, a massive greatsword crackling with blood-red energy, rested effortlessly on his shoulder. Its sinister aura seemed to amplify his imposing presence, making even veteran warriors in the audience shudder.
The crowd erupted into deafening cheers and applause, chanting Arion’s name like a mantra. It was evident he was a crowd favourite, known for his ferocity and unyielding combat style as the guardian of the genius.
Usually, the millionth rank is quite a difficult rank to maintain, as everyone is trying to challenge him, which leads to very short lives for guardians of geniuses, as it can change every week. But Arion is different; he has already maintained his status for almost half a year.
It was clear his strength was higher than his rank showed, but he didn’t try to move upward, but like a stuck-up old man, stayed at the same rank, not letting the new geniuses cross the barrier.
Arion smirked as his eyes fell on Apollo, his voice dripping with disdain. "So, you’re the challenger? I was expecting someone more... formidable."
Apollo, unfazed, simply stretched his arms, his silver icy aura igniting like a calm yet unyielding flame. "You’ll see soon enough."
[Battle will begin in 10... 9... 8...]
The crowd grew restless, their cheers rising in volume. Bets were being placed at a frenetic pace, the audience divided between Arion’s proven reputation and new challenger Apollo.
Could again Arion stop the challenger, or finally the challenger will break his winning streak? Everyone was eager to see the exciting fight.
[3... 2... 1... Fight!]
Arion wasted no time, charging forward with a burst of speed that belied his heavy armour. His greatsword swung downward in a devastating arc, splitting the space with a deafening roar.
Apollo moved at the last moment, the blade grazing past him and slamming into the arena floor, leaving a deep fissure of hundreds of meters.
Without missing a beat, Arion followed up with a horizontal slash, his movements fluid despite the weapon’s size.
Apollo ducked and retaliated with a lightning-fast punch, with the strength of destroying a mountain.
Arion also sensed this and dodged the punch at the very last moment, but the punch was so strong it created shock waves that made the crowd roar in excitement as it seemed the battle was going to be interesting.
Arion’s smirk vanished, replaced by a look of grim determination. "Interesting. You’re not just talking."
He raised his greatsword high, its crimson energy intensifying. The ground beneath him cracked as an oppressive force spread across the arena.
"Crimson World!"
The arena was engulfed in a blood-red hue as Arion activated his unique technique. Apollo felt the shift immediately—the air grew heavier, the space around him warped, and his movements became slightly sluggish.
It wasn’t a simple law world but a special technique that used the law of blood and the law of killing to form a special world that is countless times stronger than a simple law at the world level.
Even with an understanding of the Law of the World, breaking through would prove challenging. Arion himself had mastered two laws to the 75% Law World level, creating a unique fusion. This special world was exponentially more powerful than a simple single-law Law of the World.
The oppressive energy of Crimson World bore down on Apollo like a tidal wave. The once-vast arena now felt claustrophobic, its air dense with bloodlust. Even the ground under his feet pulsed as though alive, resonating with the overwhelming fusion of the Law of Blood and the Law of Killing.
Apollo’s movements slowed, and he felt the crushing weight of the world suppressing his every action.
"Impressive," Apollo admitted, his voice calm despite the strain in his limbs. He could feel the sheer intricacy of the fused laws, a level of control far beyond the ordinary.
Apollo’s silver aura flared brighter, attempting to push back the oppressive energy, but even he could feel the toll it was taking. Crimson World wasn’t just suppressing his movements—it was actively trying to erode his energy, sapping his blood and strength with each passing moment.
Even because of his strong divine body and golden blood, the effect was decreased many times, but still, it was troublesome.
"Well then," Apollo muttered, his silver aura morphing into sharper, sword-like tendrils around him. "I guess I’ll have to get serious."
He closed his eyes briefly, drawing his focus inward. The pressure around him lessened as he invoked his understanding of the sword, weaving it with his Eternal Sword Aura. The arena trembled as Apollo’s aura began to shift, a razor-sharp intensity cutting through the oppressive atmosphere of the Crimson World.
Arion’s smirk faltered. "What are you doing?"
Apollo opened his eyes, their silver glow piercing through the crimson haze. "Breaking free."
With a sudden burst of energy, Apollo’s Eternal Sword Aura erupted in a dazzling display. The fusion of his swordsmanship and sword aura tore at the fabric of Arion’s Crimson World, creating cracks in its oppressive field.
Arion growled, raising his greatsword high once more. "You won’t break my world so easily! Crimson Tempest!"
The greatsword unleashed a storm of blood-red slashes, each one carrying the destructive might of Arion’s laws. The arena seemed to quake under the assault as the slashes surged toward Apollo like an unstoppable tide.
Apollo stood his ground, the tendrils of his silver aura converging into a single, silver, radiant sword above his head. "Let’s see how your crimson tempest fares against my sword."
He swung the sword in a wide arc, its sheer brilliance cleaving through the incoming blood and killing storm. The clash of energies sent shockwaves rippling across the arena, the audience gasping as Apollo’s strike carved a path straight to Arion.
Arion’s eyes widened; he couldn’t believe how easily Apollo cut through his Crimson world, but he didn’t falter. Channelling the full power of his Crimson World, he roared, "You will fall!"
He became tense as whenever he used his move, he quickly suppressed his opponents instantly, but this time wasn’t the case. It was unbelievable; with a single sword strike, Apollo could break free from most constraints.
Not to mention, Arion could sense that Apollo’s Sword Aura was incredibly mysterious and eternal in nature. The most shocking aspect, however, was that it had yet to reach the Sword World level, yet it could still cut through his Crimson world with ease. He had never encountered such a strong and enigmatic Sword Aura before.
Apollo dashed forward, his movements no longer suppressed. Each step seemed to cut through the Crimson World itself.
"Thirteenth sword: Heavenly Net of Destruction."
Instantly, his sword released, and the sword slashed in the form of a net and covered Arion.
The radiant sword aura expanded into a web of countless interwoven slashes, forming a seamless trap that left no openings. Each thread of the net shimmered with lethal energy, radiating a profound and eternal sharpness that seemed to transcend space itself.
"This—!" Arion barely had time to react as the net closed in. His Crimson World tried to resist, but its fragmented remnants were no match for the precision of Apollo’s attack.
The oppressive force of Arion’s fused laws crumbled further under the pressure of the attack.
"Impossible! How can it be this perfect?" Arion roared, swinging his greatsword wildly in an attempt to disperse the incoming net. Each swing collided with the slashes, but for every thread he cut, two more replaced it, surging toward him with unstoppable precision.
Arion’s greatsword emitted a desperate, crimson glow as he poured all his energy into a final swing. "Crimson Rebirth Slash!" He bellowed, unleashing a massive wave of blood-red energy in all directions. The wave surged outward, colliding with the net in an explosive clash.
BOOM!
