Genius Noble With System -
Chapter 157: First Opponent
Chapter 157: First Opponent
"World!... There are many other worlds..."
Sol shakily said this, as he had never imagined it—all those tasks in different spaces he thought were small, independent spaces around Rion, but now it seemed they were more than that.
Apollo let Sol calm down, giving him time to process the information. Then, Apollo asked the bartender to continue, as the Dimensional Battle World seemed like a promising place to him.
"Hmm."
"It is divided into three sections according to age: the Earth, Sky, and Heaven battlefields.
The Earth Level is for the younger generation below a hundred years old.
The Sky Level is for people below a thousand years old.
And lastly, the Heaven Level is for monsters below ten thousand years old."
Apollo listened carefully and understood the situation. Since he was less than a hundred years old, he would be placed in the Earth section, along with almost all the trialists from the Eastern Continent.
The bartender continued, "There are two types of battlefields. The first is group battles, where ten thousand people are randomly selected to battle each other in the wild, and the last one standing will be the winner."
"Second is a one-on-one battle with random opponents from all over the universe, and after reaching a certain winning streak, you will be rewarded."
"Not only that," the bartender added, "every section, whether it’s Earth, Sky, or Heaven, has rankings. If you reach the top ten thousand, you’ll receive unimaginable rewards that even gods will salivate."
He said that and looked at Apollo, wanting to see how he would react, but he still remained calm, even knowing that the rewards were enough to tempt the gods.
But what the bartender didn’t know was that Apollo, unlike others, never felt that gods were beyond his reach. He indeed feared their strength, but there wasn’t a single moment he thought, "I will never reach that state."
Apollo always believed he would surpass the gods in strength—it was just a matter of time. For others, this might seem like arrogance or self-absorption, but to him, it felt inevitable. He had the system, extraordinary talent, and the means to reach such heights, so if he couldn’t achieve it with all those advantages, then he would consider himself trash or worthless.
If he didn’t achieve such strength, it was like he was playing a game with cheat codes, yet he was still losing to general gamers.
"Hmm, good, so where from Sky City can I enter the Dimension Battle World?" Apollo excitedly asked directly, as since he already knew about it, he was eager to enter and experience himself.
Seeing the excited look instead of feeling a shocked expression, the bartender also laughed, feeling an interesting guy had appeared.
"It is in the Battle District, right beside the Battle Arena. You’ll easily find it when you arrive there," the bartender said with a smile.
After hearing this, Apollo nodded and left his details, including the designated number of the small mountain where he was staying, along with a payment of a hundred Sky points for the service of finding his master.
Sol silently followed, still a bit shocked after learning about this, but he had mostly calmed down by now.
They directly travel through the teleportation portal to arrive at Battle District and go towards their destination.
As they stepped out of the teleportation portal into the bustling Battle District, the atmosphere around them changed instantly. The air was thick with the energy of countless powerful individuals, each exuding an aura of strength and determination. The district was alive with the sounds of clashing weapons and the hum of magical energies.
Apollo and Sol made their way through the crowds, heading towards the Battle Arena. The architecture here was grand and imposing, with towering structures designed to inspire awe and respect from everyone present.
The Battle Arena itself was a massive, circular structure that dominated the skyline, its walls lined with ancient carvings depicting legendary battles fought throughout time.
Besides the Battle Arena, just as the bartender had said, they found the entrance to the Dimensional Battle World. The entrance was marked by a colossal archway made of dark stone, radiating with a faint, otherworldly light. Above the archway, an inscription in an ancient language flickered with energy, and though Apollo couldn’t read the words, he could feel the power they held.
"This is it."
Apollo remained composed as he murmured, his mind focused on the exciting battle and challenges that lay ahead. He should be able to meet geniuses from all over the universe.
"Hmm... Brother Apollo, I’m going to fight in the Battle Arena. So, good luck," Sol said, hesitating for a second before making up his mind. He looked at Apollo, then turned and walked toward the Battle Arena.
Apollo didn’t stop him. It seemed Sol had resolved to become stronger after realizing that the world he once thought was vast was just a small bubble. Instead of staying shocked, he decided to grow stronger.
"Let’s see geniuses from the universe."
He approached the empty entrance, as it seemed nobody had come here till now, and he might be the first one among the eastern continent.
As he came close to and went through the archway, a voice was heard in his mind.
[Entering Dimension Battle World—3000 Sky Points required]
Looking at the points, Apollo felt surprised. Three thousand points was quite a large amount, even more than what the top ten trialists had. For entry alone, he needed so many points. Before, he had felt a bit dissatisfied with the rewards, but now it didn’t seem so bad.
"Use the Free Pass."
[Free pass is used. The trialist is being sent to the safe room.]
He immediately appeared in the simple room with a futon. He didn’t waste time and sat on it.
[Link is being created; please give name...]
"Apollo."
[Do you want to enter the Dimension Battle World? (Yes/No)]
"Yes."
[Please select the battle mode (1 vs 1 / Battle of Survival)]
Seeing this, he thinks for a moment and decides to battle individual 1v1 first.
"1 v 1"
[Trialist Apollo’s mind is being transported to the Dimension Battle World]
Immediately, his mind became blank, and a moment later, he found himself standing in a vast, open arena that looked quite like a colosseum. The sky above was an endless expanse of swirling colours, and the ground beneath their feet was so solid that even with his strength, he could not destroy it.
He carefully assessed his body and its strength. He knew that it wasn’t his physical body that had arrived in this Dimension World, but rather his mind.
What was shocking, however, was that this body felt exactly like his physical one back in Sky City. Whether it was his strength, durability, reaction speed, or life force—everything was the same.
But then he noticed something different. First, he couldn’t seem to transform into his Half-Demon God form. Secondly, his mage cultivation foundation rune felt slightly weaker, as if it had been diminished somehow. He was just thinking why this could be the cold voice that appeared again.
[Random battle selection is beginning...]
[The opponent is being selected; the battle will begin in 10 seconds]
He let go of his thoughts, calmed down, and was ready to face his opponent. Since he was less than a hundred years old, he will be within the Earth section of the Dimension Battle World, and below a hundred-year-old genius will be his opponents.
[9, 10... The first battle is beginning]
And immediately, a figure teleported into the Colosseum. Apollo readied himself to face whatever opponent appeared, but when he saw who it was, he was shocked.
"Are you fucking kidding me?" Surprisingly, it was a young girl who appeared to be only nine or ten years old—a loli.
The loli was quite cute, like those anime lolis, but Apollo felt a mix of disappointment and frustration. He was burning with fighting instinct, only for his opponent to turn out to be a loli.
The loli seemed to sense Apollo’s dissatisfaction and became visibly upset.
"Hey, brat! What’s with that face? Don’t you dare show me that look, or this queen will break you a thousand times and then fix you a thousand times over!" Loli said in cute voice.
"Ah," Apollo exclaimed in surprise that he could clearly understand her words, but quickly rebuked, "Little kid, who are you calling a brat? Didn’t anyone teach you how to behave?"
"Who else would I be calling a brat here?" The loli retorted, her voice filled with arrogance. "Your life signature seems to be less than twenty years old. If we’re talking about age, I’m way older than you."
"That!" Apollo immediately remembered stories from anime and manga where old bitches or beasts pets turned into lolis, and it seemed he had encountered someone like that.
"So, you’re one of those old-timers who fulfil some degenerate guy’s fantasies?" Apollo murmured, realising he was facing his first opponent. But he wondered why he couldn’t sense much strength from the loli, despite her apparent age.
Before he could think further, a powerful, giant hand made of energy appeared above his head and attacked him with incredible speed.
"Brat, who the hell are you calling Old? And who’s fulfilling fantasies?!"
