Chapter 156: Finding Information

Hearing this, Apollo couldn’t help but chuckle, acknowledging that his luck with tasks was indeed different. The first task had been manageable and appropriate, but the second one was truly dangerous. He, after this experience, realised now that anything unexpected could happen during these tasks, and if one were unlucky, even a One-Star task could be fatal.

After this experience, he cannot be careless during any task, as who knows what terrifying things are hidden within such simple tasks?

He didn’t know who it was or what he had encountered, but the fact that it could hide from the mysterious Sky Tower and create an error in the task was no small feat. Considering that even the ten hegemon forces of the Eastern Continent couldn’t affect the Sky Tower, the strength of this being was undeniable.

"It’s good that you didn’t receive such a task; you know, I almost died doing this," Apollo replied to Sol’s frustration. He knew that with Sol’s strength, he might not have even been able to defeat a single ordinary blood monster, let alone the many stronger and more menacing ones.

"What? You almost died?" Sol exclaimed, surprised. Although he hadn’t fully grasped the extent of Apollo’s strength, the mysterious aura surrounding him and his high ranking on the list made Sol believe that Apollo should be much stronger than him by quite a lot.

Apollo couldn’t help but chuckle at Sol’s reaction, knowing how different their experiences had been. "Yeah, I almost bit the dust," he admitted with a wry smile.

Sol’s eyes widened in disbelief. "Seriously? I knew you were strong, but if something almost took you out, it must have been insanely dangerous."

Apollo nodded, his expression growing serious. "It was." And he didn’t say more, as nothing good was going to happen if he told more, as the mysterious being that he saw was too powerful for his understanding.

Sol frowned, still processing the Apollo’s words. "But if you almost died... I don’t even want to imagine what would have happened if it had been me. I probably wouldn’t have made it out alive."

Apollo placed a reassuring hand on Sol’s shoulder. "That’s why we have to be prepared for anything and don’t be careless."

Sol nodded, his expression resolute. "You’re right. I’ll keep that in mind."

"Now," Apollo said with a grin, trying to lighten the mood, "let’s go find something to eat."

With their strength, they didn’t need to eat or drink to survive for months or years; still, it is novel behaviour that lets them remember their roots. So most human warriors like to remain in society and eat and drink fully, as it is one of the joys of life.

And more importantly, Apollo was now planning to start looking for his master. By now, his master should have settled in the city, even if he was taking his time. Although his master’s strength is not bad, the tasks were related to their strength rank, which could make things a bit difficult for him. After all, his master had only become a fourth-rank Grandmaster three years ago.

He might be strong among fourth-rank grandmasters, but he was definitely not at the peak of it.

Sol laughed, nodding in agreement. "Good idea. Let’s go and eat some delicacies of the Sky City."

With that, both of them went outside and strolled around the city and went to the market area of the lobby, where the trialists could sell the things they brought back from their trials or buy something here.

They saw many restaurants, most of them bustling with people. Apollo had come here specifically because these restaurants were the best places to gather intel. Because not only trialists but even the inhabitants of Sky City could be found here.

However, no one dared to mess with them, as fighting was strictly prohibited within the city. Besides, most of the inhabitants of Sky City were incredibly strong, like seasoned players in a game where the trialists were mere newbies and the NPCs were boss-level, or at least levels far beyond their reach.

Here, not only should he be able to learn about the Dimensional Battle World, but he might also find news about his master.

"I’ve been here before, so let me take you to the right place if you want to know anything about Sky City," Sol quickly offered to Apollo, aware of his interest in the Dimension Battle World and his intention to find someone.

Apollo nodded and followed Sol as he led him to the corner of the market where there was a small pub-like place, which surprised him as he felt something different about this pub.

But he didn’t stop, and, with Sol, he entered the pub. Upon stepping inside, he noticed it was mostly empty, with only two or three mysterious figures drinking alone in the morning. These individuals clearly weren’t trialists, but each of them exuded an unfathomable aura.

Sol didn’t look at them, instead looked at the bartender or the shop owner of the place. Who was seemingly a charming handsome face and energy that gave a fuckboy vibe?

Apollo, standing beside him, couldn’t help but feel surprised. It wasn’t just the man’s face, which was unremarkable apart from being somewhat handsome, but his strength—or rather, the complete lack of it—that struck Apollo as odd.

It was as if he was facing an ordinary human, someone who didn’t emit even the faintest trace of energy, appearing entirely mundane despite his good looks.

But how could this be possible? In Sky City, a place where mysterious and powerful people gather, how could the owner of such an establishment be ordinary?

His expression grew grave. With his spiritual strength, he could sense saints or even figures in the Half-God realm, but he couldn’t detect anything about this bartender. It spoke volumes about the problem and mysterious nature of this person.

The bartender smiled and happily welcomed them as they took a seat in front.

"What can I do for you?" he asked nicely like he was welcoming usual guests.

Sol looked at Apollo, who nodded and asked, "We want to learn some information."

"Oh... guests, then tell me what you want to know. Maybe I already know what you’re looking for."

The bartender’s casual demeanour and friendly tone belied the depth of his mystery. As he spoke, his eyes held a glint of curiosity, as if he were accustomed to handling requests for information from all sorts of people.

Apollo, keenly aware of the importance of gathering reliable information in Sky City, decided to be direct. "We want to know about the Dimensional Battle World and also for any news about a fourth-rank Grandmaster who might be in the city."

The bartender’s eyes narrowed slightly, and his smile didn’t falter, though Apollo noticed a flicker of interest. "The Dimensional Battle World, you say? That’s not a rare topic to inquire about. Most people here know about it, and I can tell you about that for free. As for fourth-rank grandmasters, there are many in the city, though finding one among the myriad faces now especially can be quite a challenge, but not impossible."

"Finding a specific person among so many can be tricky, but I might have a few contacts who could help. I’ll need a bit of time to make some inquiries, but I can get back to you with more details."

Apollo nodded. "How long will it take for you to find him?"

The bartender gave a thoughtful nod. "It shouldn’t take more than a day or so. Leave your contact details and the person you want to find with me, and I’ll reach out once I have something concrete."

"Okay, then please tell me about Dimension Battle World."

"Hmm, then let’s start. The Dimension Battle World is the best place for any person who wants to become strong."

"It is a separate dimension where you can battle others from various worlds, not just from a single world of Rion, like you trialists might expect. Your opponents won’t just be other trialists from here; they could be beings from countless unknown worlds that you have never seen or heard of."

"What, The bartender dropped the bomb as he said this to Apollo and Sol, who had different reactions.

Apollo wasn’t unfamiliar with the knowledge of different worlds as he was a reincarnation from another world or might be a different dimension as Earth might not belong to the same universe or dimension in which Rion resided.

But it was completely different for Sol, for whom the world of Rion is boundless, and this news was too shocking to him.

He hadn’t given much thought to that, even when the mysterious Sky Tower appeared on the Eastern Continent. He and most people from the Eastern Continent believed it was a relic of some ancient god, never considering that it might be something from outside of Rion.

Sol’s expression was normal, as most people living in a small bubble would be surprised to learn about the vastness of the universe. But Apollo’s reaction was completely different.

The bartender noticed the contrasting expressions of the two. When he saw Apollo’s calm and collected demeanour, without any change in his expression, he couldn’t help but feel a bit surprised and intrigued.
