Game World's Awakening
Chapter 76: Finally back to Loen City

Chapter 76: Finally back to Loen City

But soon it was time for battle, and their figures quickly flew from where they stood, closing in on the werewolves with lightning speed. They didn’t even give them time to howl before one was knocked to the ground and the other was split in two by two blows from a dark magic sword.

Right now, Jenna was on a completely different level than when she entered the Tall-Ar Forest, so her overwhelming strength blinded the first werewolf with terrifying speed, even though she was using her magic sword and not her adamantium one.

When she finished there, she quickly ran to where Elliot had beaten the werewolf to the ground and killed him.

Not even four seconds had passed since the start of the fight, but both leaders were already dead.

Both quickly headed toward where the rest of the wolves were, with Jenna tearing from side to side and Elliot’s only job being to throw the wolves at her to save time.

Black Leather watched this in a daze and put a hand to his head. "I thought we’d have a few problems, but this is... a one-sided slaughter." He smiled and looked at the two men who arrived behind him.

"That’s why I told you to stop. These guys are even stronger than me. Plus, they seem to be used to hunting beasts."

"Amazing, they look so young. Could they be great geniuses from the capital who came to visit?"

"Or they could be from Tanafler. That city has become a hotbed of geniuses recently."

But Black Leather shook his head in response. "No. I know the boy, he’s from Loen. What I didn’t expect... is that he was an awakened one."

"Oh?" The fat man turned to look at him. "Do you know him? Who is he?"

"A famous... misfit from Loen City."

"A misfit? With that strength? Impossible."

"Hahaha.’ Black Leather began to laugh loudly. "I guess it’s not that simple..." He replied and stared at Elliot.

’The former heir to the Clarks... I didn’t expect to have the pleasure of seeing the son of the Great SkyDome as an awakened one. It looks like Loen City will once again be the center of attention in the Coastal Cities.’ Black Leather smiled to himself.

When he was younger, he had built a bar in Loen City precisely because of the Hero SkyDome, the man who could hold up the sky of Loen with one hand. Thanks to that man’s presence and his quick decision, his business had been successful for several years.

But then he disappeared.

Loen City ceased to be what it once was, and sales declined because fewer people were visiting. After all, one can never be certain when Beast Waves will attack cities when they are weak.

He felt the same way, which was why he had started working on the Zargo-Loen route, with the aim of finding a way to relocate. However, now he could see the city shining once again.

’Whether I’m seeing the glow of glory or the glow of fire, I think I can see it. It seems like it’s time to return to Loen City.’

As they thought, Elliot and Jenna returned after throwing the bodies of the beasts to the side of the road.

"There are no more beasts around. We can leave," said Elliot, and the three nodded, with the fat man stepping forward to thank him.

"Hahaha, thank you very much, Young Master Elliot. We hope we can count on your help for the rest of the trip. We’ll arrive in Loen at dawn. Please make sure to get some rest; we’ll wake you up if we see anything strange."

With that, everyone returned to the truck and soon resumed their journey.

Things really got complicated from then on, but not because it was difficult, but because there were more and more beasts, and some even attacked without stopping the truck, trying to overturn it.

Fortunately, this modern truck had special mechanisms in place to prevent such situations.

In this way, the hours passed. Soon they began to see towns, villages, and some hamlets far from the city but belonging to Loen. After a few more hours, they finally saw the great walls of Loen City.

...

Thanks to Elliot and Jenna, they were able to return before dawn.

"How about we invite you to lunch? Even if you don’t want to accept our payment, we’d at least like to take you out for something to eat, since you helped us so much during the trip and it was thanks to you that we were able to arrive ahead of schedule." The two drivers insisted that Elliot and Jenna give them some kind of reward.

In the end, Elliot had to agree.

"If that’s the case, how about a meal at Mr. Black Leather’s bar restaurant? We promised him we’d visit him there, so we can keep our word then," he replied.

"Haha, perfect, Young Master Elliot." The well-mannered fat man nodded quickly. He was the one who had insisted on this the most. "What time?"

"Tomorrow morning, how about that?"

"Fine. Then we’ll be waiting for you there tomorrow morning."

With that, they said goodbye.

...

Somewhere in Loen City.

With each passing day, Joferth Guilwing seemed to be smoking more and more from the anger in his head.

It was as if his anger grew more intense each day, and he no longer knew whom to direct it at.

Himself? His subordinates? The irresponsible Broken Leaf Guild? Or the Clark Family?

Ever since he discovered that Elliot Clark had awakened and was rapidly increasing his power, he couldn’t help but start searching for him.

He found him in Broken Leaf, but when he arrived, he was possibly dead!

That was the answer he got from the bastards of the Broken Leaf Guild.

They didn’t even know; it was just a possibility!

Leaving aside the fact that they were profiting from the efforts of those who wanted to join the Guild, something that naturally gave them a terrible reputation, they still had the nerve not to guarantee the safety of those who wanted to take the tests!

Of course, that was something many guilds did, so it wasn’t that reprehensible, but the problem was that Joferth wanted to make a scandal because among those who disappeared was a man capable of reaching the level of an Awakened Rank in one week!

How could he not make a fuss? The problem was that this had a lot to do with the Clark Family and two guilds just as big as his, so he had no choice but to stop making the problem bigger.

But he didn’t stop looking for him.

Every day after work, he religiously came to Elliot’s apartment, hoping to find him.

It wasn’t just that Elliot had saved him; it was that he was possibly facing an impossible talent, one that, as a talent scout, he couldn’t pass up.

"Tsk, damn Clarks." He complained once more as he watched night fall upon him. Even though he didn’t want to let that talent slip away, two weeks had passed since then, and there were no signs of anything.

"Maybe I should give up. I sent some Awakened ones to try to find him, but they found nothing but signs of a great battle. Maybe he really is dead." He took a deep breath, got up from where he was lying, and walked away.

Just then...

"Angelic Wave? I heard that the guild might belong to the Rune Kingdom. I wonder if they’re accepting new members." A woman and a man passed by him.

The man nodded. "Yes, I had heard that too. That’s why I wanted to do the tests there first, but registration was already closed, so I decided on Broken Leaf. I didn’t expect those bastards to be in cahoots with the Clarks."

Joferth suddenly shuddered and turned abruptly. A familiar face that looked like an angel brought down from heaven materialized in front of him.

"Elliot Clark!" he exclaimed suddenly.
