Game World's Awakening
Chapter 101: Angelic Wave vs Clark Group (1)

Chapter 101: Angelic Wave vs Clark Group (1)

"We have a cooperation agreement, right?" Thomas asked, after looking at them for a few seconds.

They nodded.

"We do. Do you need us to avenge the fact that he’s about to steal your position?" asked Alexander Clark, who was standing calmly beside him.

"I just need you to get him out of the tournament. Whether you kill him or not, as long as he’s out, that’s enough."

"Hahaha, Mr. Thomas, you don’t have to worry about that bastard. We planned to kill him from the start, so you don’t need to worry about him advancing. He won’t. He’ll be dead soon." John stepped forward to speak, drawing attention to himself.

"Oh? Right, they said he was your worst enemy. What’s the feud between you two?" Thomas looked at him.

"Haha, of course. You may not know because you don’t usually care about anything outside the Academy, but he’s Elliot Clark."

"Elliot Clark? What does that mean? I already know his name."

"Knowing his true identity may also answer the question of why he has received so many MVPs, Young Master Thomas." Alexander spoke.

Thomas stared at him again, wanting him to continue, and he didn’t keep him waiting.

"He is Elliot Clark, the son of SkyDome."

"SkyDome?" Thomas’s eyes finally flashed with understanding.

"Yes, it’s possible that the judges are actually giving him that award as an apology for not doing anything before when his father disappeared. They want to pay him back what they owe him." Alexander revealed, even though it was something he didn’t even believe himself.

The truth was that Elliot deserved that MVP, something that worried him deep down.

Why is that bastard so powerful now? The last time he saw him, he wasn’t like that... If it weren’t for the preparations they had made this time, bringing in people from outside, he wouldn’t be so calm.

Thomas frowned.

"How could he be SkyDome’s son? I’m pretty sure his son was a cripple or a misfit. Are you trying to fool me?" he asked, staring at them.

But Alexander could only shake his head helplessly.

"We originally thought so, but he awakened, that’s a fact we found hard to believe."

Master Roy already knew this, so he wasn’t surprised, but Thomas had no idea.

"Can you kill him?" Thomas asked after thinking about it for a moment.

"We’re going to kill him."

"Hehe, good. I hope you keep your word, for the sake of our cooperation."

"Haha..."

The conversation didn’t seem to flow further from there, as everyone had things to do.

Some had to kill the person they talked about, while others had to watch to enjoy it.

Therefore, the conversation ended with a short farewell.

--

The time for the day’s second match arrived after a four-hour break.

The members of Angelic Wave would face a tough fight, as they had just fought against a strong group.

That’s why many wondered if this agreement was right. They weren’t given enough time to rest between fights, but no one said anything besides a few whispers scattered around the arena.

Now, the bets for this fight were complicated.

People couldn’t make up their minds. They had seen both teams fight against the Elemental Academy, with Angelic Wave coming close to winning.

But they always felt that the Clark Group was holding back. So, who should they bet on?

The most die-hard fans already had their answers, but they weren’t the majority who would be betting, as these fights were sometimes a beautiful source of income that often solved many people’s problems.

They are not a silly lottery that will make you lose money in the hope of winning; they are sports bets, where knowing the strengths and strategies employed by both teams is enough to predict a victory or defeat.

But today, the bets were complicated.

One team had two Masters, but the other had one capable of defeating two of them and a young man who demonstrated an amazing ability to defeat people stronger than himself.

In addition, according to rumors, one of the teams had what the other team hated with a passion and was unwilling to negotiate.

Perhaps because of this, people slowly began to lean toward logic, and the bets shifted toward Group Clark as the winner.

As logic told them, they were confident this would be the case.

Then it was time for the fight.

The stands were packed with people, and the city seemed eerily silent. Everyone was watching the moment.

A few seconds before the fight began, both teams entered the Combat Arena, each taking their positions.

Sparks of hatred and anger seemed to fly back and forth, but Elliot was relatively calm.

But the spectators couldn’t help but start talking about what they were seeing.

"Hey, aren’t they taking up a fighting stance?"

"It looks like both teams are going to greet each other, doesn’t it?"

"You think so?"

"Well, they’re standing in a straight line... Well, only Angelic Wave. Clark’s team... They seem to be using a familiar strategy..."

"Isn’t that the formation Angelic Wave used against the Elemental Academy?"

Some of the Angelic Wave fans complained.

"Those bastards are mocking us." Some roared and looked at the closest Clark Group fans they had.

"What? You want to fight, you useless bastards? You dare to take a useless Misfit into your ranks and still think you deserve respect?"

"Who are you calling a useless Misfit, bastard?!"

"Did I tell lies?!"

"Go to the fucking market and see if you’ll ever see an Misfit awaken, asshole!"

"What did you call me?!"

"I can say it again, asshole! You think you’re so smart and don’t even know that Misfits can’t awaken? Puf, it looks like Clark Group fans are idiots."

"How dare you?!"

Suddenly, a verbal fight broke out between fans of both teams around the arena, with insults echoing everywhere.

They even tried to come to blows, but arena security personnel pushed them back.

Even so, everyone was angry enough to be fuming, and insults continued to fly at fans of both teams.

The reality was that, on the arena floor, both teams had unusual positions.

Angelic Wave didn’t have a specific position. As they stood side by side, staring at Team Clark, they didn’t seem to be forming any kind of strategic battle formation.

Meanwhile, Clark Group used the formation Angelic Wave had used to fight against the Elemental Academy.

Obviously, Clark Group was mocking Angelic Wave.

But the members of Angelic Wave didn’t care.

Even so, these two teams seemed to hate each other, so the harsh words didn’t take long to come.

"I had heard that a guild in the city was hiring useless and misfit people. I didn’t believe it and even thought it was one of the weaker guilds, but... I didn’t expect it to be one of the strongest. Couldn’t they find anyone better? Did they have to hire the most useless member of our Clan, who had to be discarded for that reason?" John sneered, staring at Elliot.

Elliot shrugged in response.

"A guild hiring misfits? Oh, right. I heard that rumor, too. Rumor has it that the guild was hiring thousands of misfits for smuggling..." Elliot smiled.

"Oh, I remember that. One of the members of our exalted Angelic Wave discovered it. Wasn’t it the Clark Group? I wonder what the King would think if he knew that one of the oldest guilds is now involved in smuggling... Sigh, what a shame. Certainly, a shame. Good thing I left that dirty, bastard Clan."

John’s eyebrows shot up a little, but he didn’t show any anger, even though he wanted to eat Elliot alive.

"Haha, besides being idiots, it seems that Angelic Wave is full of people who believe everything they’re told. It’s a shame. I don’t think one of the most respected guilds in our city has much time left."

"Hahahaha..." Elliot couldn’t help but laugh out loud. "I’m sure the most respected guild in town likes to make up stories, right?" he said sarcastically.

"But don’t worry, little John. Since you’re my cousin and we don’t discriminate at Angelic Wave, we won’t discriminate against you for your mental illness. We understand you. Our guild recently launched an initiative to provide wheelchairs and high-tech diapers to people with brain diseases because we like charity and helping those in need. If you had told me you were suffering from something like that, I would have brought you a kit, dear cousin. But I’ll buy one for you, so be patient."

His sarcastic, mocking smile, coupled with his words, made John jump up in anger.

"You..."

Elliot simply shrugged when he saw that the guy had nothing to say and looked at the counter.

Ten seconds.

John looked at it too, and even though he was angry, he decided it was better to keep quiet during the fight.

’Damn you, those will be your last words,’ he growled inside.

Then the counter finally reached 0.

This also brought silence to the arena.

Perhaps the most anticipated match for fans of both teams had begun.

It was also the most anticipated match for Elliot.

Finally, his enemy was in front of him, and he had the ability to kill him.
