Chapter 99: The Humans Disperse

Kaiju chuckled and then instantly gave Griffin two Scrolls of Lesser Healing and Mana each. Once he stored it on his inventory, he stared at Kaiju for a second, and the latter was lost. He understood and replied, "That’s all–"

Before he could even finish what he said, Griffin said, "Thanks!" while disappearing without even using the blink skill. Qwanisha snorted and shouted, "Shameless!" before focusing at Kaiju, waiting for the Scroll of the Lesser Healing and Mana to receive.

However, Max was worried that Kaiju did not possess a lot of treasures, so he interrupted before Kaiju was able to take out something from his inventory. "Let us just give three Scrolls of Lesser Mana if you have, Kaiju. We have Faith anyway."

Kaiju was stunned, glanced at Faith, met her gaze, and she nodded. "If that is the case, then I’ll give four then, two for Faith and one each for you two." He stared at Qwanisha for a while, receiving her nod, and then took out the items from his inventory and passed them to Qwanisha.

Qwanisha received one Scroll of Lesser Mana, while letting Kaiju give the other Scroll of Lesser Mana to Faith and Max, knowing Kaiju must have artifacts to give to the two. As expected, once Kaiju arrived in front of Max, he took out a single-handed shield and pushed them to Max.

Max was lost for words, just staring at Kaiju, hearing him saying, "I really don’t know your preference when it comes to shields, but I hope it’ll help you."

Max shook his head, laughed boisterously, and received the shield politely. He tested the shield, waving it, examining its weight and other aspects like a true shield master, and smiled brightly.

He said, "I really must thank you, Kaiju. I really like it. I might be using it as my main shield now."

"Whatever suits you, Big Brother Max!" Kaiju exclaimed.

He understood that everyone was being hasty at raiding the burg now. Griffin was already at it, so Lucy might be next. Henec, he walked towards Lucy, and before he was able to say anything, Lucy said, "Just give me the Scrolls of Lesser Healing. I have mana potion and scrolls relating to mana."

Kaiju was stunned, smiled, and nodded. "Alright. I’ll give you three, then."

Lucy was taken aback and nodded with a bright smile.

Not only did she receive three Scrolls of Lesser Healing, she also received red, green, and grey apples, stunning her. She fell into a daze, glanced at Kaiju, and blushed.

"Am I easy to see through?"

Kaiju was startled, laughed, and shook his head.

"It’s easy to understand that mages lack such attributes. Though, I know you are not that far from maxing them all."

Lucy nodded. "If what Griffin said was true, then I might be able to max them all."

Kaiju was astonished. "I see. I hope I’ll be able to catch up to you soon."

Lucy smiled and nodded. "You will."

Lucy turned to Aqua, the latter glanced at Kaiju, receiving his approval, and they soon disappeared to raid the burg.

Kaiju then turned to Faith, walking towards her and the latter appeared to be reserved. Kaiju felt strange to spot her lack of enthusiasm. Perhaps Faith was feeling the pressure now, too. This gift might be the best way to cheer her up.

Faith was waiting for Kaiju to arrive before her, seemingly just staring at him with an ambiguous expression. Once Kaiju arrived, she giggled out of the blue, startling Kaiju.

She said in an embarrassed tone, "You might need to give all the color of the fruits to me."

Kaiju’s eyes widened. "You even haven’t maxed out even a single attribute?"

Faith shook her head. "Because I want to balance them all. Don’t worry, with those fruits, I will be able to max them all out."

Kaiju was perplexed. Isn’t she a pure priest? Why would she need to balance her attributes when she could prioritize her intelligence and mana points? However, Kaiju restrained himself from asking.

Furthermore, it appeared Faith had already sensed her bewilderment but just merely smiled at him.

Before Kaiju took out the fruits, he pulled out the Pristine Tear first. Faith’s eyes instantly glued at the pretty necklace artifact. She knew it was meant for her, causing her body to tremble in excitement. Kaiju pushed the artifact for her and said, "This is my gift."

"Mhm! I like it!"

Kaiju helped Faith wear the necklace, while Faith was admiring the design of the necklace, massaging it. Kaiju chuckled at her actions and said nothing.

Kaiju then gave the fruits to Faith, and the latter stored it in the inventory, stating she would only eat it later.

Kaiju nodded.

Before Kaiju was able to give the other fruits to Qwanisha and Max, Faith grabbed his Shadoweave Battlegarb and said, "Take care."

Kaiju was taken aback, nodded, and smiled brightly. "I will."

"Also."

"What is it?"

"If you manage to survive, can you consider converting to my religion?"

Kaiju’s eyes widened, felt he was placed in a hard place, and said in an awkward tone, "I will consider it."

Faith’s golden eyes sparkled in excitement. "Then, you better survive."

"Likewise."

Kaiju nodded.

Qwanisha and Max stared at the two and giggled, staring at each other and just smiled. They received Kaiju’s fruits, and then invited Zephyr to follow them in line with Kaiju’s suggestion. They also noticed the depressive state of Zephyr.

Kaiju felt helpless when he saw his state. After all, when he saw the absence of Ember, he knew that Griffin must have chosen Ember to be his companion, not Zephyr, hurting the latter. Hence, he cast a glance at Qwanisha and Max with eyes that convey his plea.

They nodded in assurance, inviting Zephyr to be their companion and disappeared into the darkness.

Kaiju glanced at the direction where Griffin disappeared.

"He must have been really pressured now."

Suddenly, his eyes flashed with cold glint, and mumbled, "I hope we really have the power to take care of that woman."

Kaiju shook his head and with Snow and Little Gorilla on his shoulders, he glanced at the east side of the burg, disappearing into the darkness.
