Chapter 81: Third Eye
Chapter 81: Third Eye
Kaiju gazed at the growing concentrated beam. With his Emotionless skill, his facial expression did not change a bit, affecting the Luminari when she spotted it. She snorted. "Keep acting."
In fact, Kaiju was calculating like crazy in his mind. When the growing concentrated beam reached the peak, he thought, Since I’ve obtained a boost in my strength, this will be like deflecting the arrow earlier. However, what worried Kaiju more was the raining beams above. His durability did not increase like his strength, so, once one beam hit the part where it was not covered with muscles, it would be fatal.
There’s still ten meters between us.The radius of the rain of beams are pretty much the same, too. Kaiju knew that the mastery of the Luminari’s light manipulation ascended to advance, causing her to manipulate the rain of beams just enough it would not reach her. As if, she would be damaged by her light. Kaiju shook his head, tossing the unnecessary thought at the back of his head.
I will have to activate one of the effects of the advanced mastery in dagger. Kaiju’s eyes flashed with shadow light, finally concluding his next move. The concentrated beam bolted towards him at the speed of light and Kaiju suddenly felt the world slowing down. His reflex was considerably slow but the beam of light was still swift. He suddenly realized his strength might have elevated but his agility obviously did not.
Not good! He did not have a choice but to activate one of the effects of the advanced mastery in dagger.
{Dagger Weave: Kaiju’s expertise with dual daggers and mana infusion allows them to attack in intricate, unpredictable patterns, overwhelming their opponents with relentless strikes.
Effect: Increases attack speed by 30% for 5 seconds. Critical hit chance is increased by 15% during this period.
Mana Cost: 10 mana points.}
His attack speed increased and with both of his daggers coated with condensed mana on each edge, he swiped it in a cross-like manner. The concentrated beam was blocked just in time and Kaiju was able to deflect it.
The Luminari was deeply surprised, with widened eyes, she gritted her teeth and strongly swung her left hand and the rain of beams finally fell, leaving Kaiju with no hope to escape. However, Kaiju’s face remained passive and utilized the moment when beams were still taking their time to bombard him, bolting towards the Luminari.
At the same time, the Luminari’s face contorted into anger as she summoned a barrier. She felt humiliated. To think I have to be on the defensive state against this useless piece of shit? She cursed under her breath.
She admitted the dangerous aura Kaiju emitted and so, by acknowledging it, she constructed a barrier to entirely cover herself. The barrier was similar to Little Gorilla, able to see through but could block any physical and magical attack.
The Luminari watched Kaiju halting his movements while deflecting the beams with her agility seemingly faster than before. Furthermore, his strength surprised the Luminari as she already assessed Kaiju earlier with her arrow. That was why she was confident in winning against him when she confronted him.
Who would have thought that Kaiju suddenly grew stronger?
The Luminari still managed to grin and thought, At least, I was able to force him draw out all of his cards.
Kaiju continued to deflect and, at the same time, blink every three seconds, covering each meter. He calculated that since it would cost 5 mana points to blink for a meter, and then he had 2 mana points’ recovery each second, then he could still have 1 mana point recovery for each three seconds and cover 1 meter.
Since I manage to cross two meters before being forced to be locked down in my place, and covering 1 meter for every three seconds, then it would only take 24 seconds to reach towards her... Now, 21 seconds. Although the Dagger Weave would lose its effects in the next four seconds, I can still keep up with the pace.
Kaiju was clear-headed and every of his move was calculated, causing the future he envisioned to be certain.
In addition, my mana points can recover 8, retaining the mana points by 30. It’ll be sufficient, then. Kaiju peeped behind the rain of beams and saw it was still never-ending. He sighed. This is the advantage of possessing a bloodline awakening. I can only imagine the mana cost to maintain that large scale area of magic attack.
Kaiju shook his head. He saw the Luminari still had her left hand down, always moving intricately to maintain her spells. With her other right hand was to maintain the barrier. Kaiju was in awe of the Luminari multicasting. A human mage who could perform the same as her would already be regarded as one in a thousand among mage players.
Kaiju concentrated in the next twenty one seconds and when he finally arrived a meter away from the Luminari’s barrier, he sensed that blinking inside would be negated. Kaiju was not surprised and saw he attacked the barrier with the Frostfang dagger. The barrier left a mark of being frozen but it was quickly repaired as it was being maintained by the Luminari.
Kaiju clucked his tongue and was about to intensify the attack when he sensed the rain of beams seemed to have become concentrated towards him, intensifying the quantity. Kaiju felt annoyed and finally stopped attacking the barrier.
As he was about to formulate another plan inside his head, a voice reverberated in his mind.
"It is ready, Master. I can pull her attention now!"
Kaiju was taken aback. He had forgotten about their battle formation, where the hunter’s anchor would have to taunt the enemy towards him. It could not be helped, he did not have an idea how Little Gorilla would be able to achieve it in such a distance.
Come to think of it, I did not read the description and effects of his bloodline awakening, similar to Snow!
Indeed, there was still another effect of Little Gorilla’s bloodline awakening, totalling to three. The third effect would only be activated once... he opened his third eye.
