Chapter 57: Snow’s Dominance
The red and blue moon–they were always in full moon. The werewolves and vampires were at an advantage, especially when the crimson moon turned bloody and expanded, the true full moon. At this moment, it was currently night, so the berserk of the Grey Werewolf was not at its peak, but it was never weak. The berserk aided him in elevating his attributes two times but it appeared he could not defeat Snow.
Snow might have suffered from the explosion, but the Grey Werewolf saw it clearly. Snow managed to dash away, utilizing her Swift Dash skill, lessening the impact of explosion towards her. The Grey Werewolf understood his perilous circumstances and did not hesitate to call his kin.
Although howling required him to inhale a ton of air surrounding him - filled with frost and toxicity - he was now risking it. However, Snow grasped his intention and used her long range skill.
{Ice Poisonous Shard Barrage (Rare)
Description: Snow summons several sharp icicles filled with venom and hurls them toward enemies, dealing piercing frost damage and inflicting continuous poison damage. Targets hit may experience frostbite or reduced defense due to the penetrating cold, and may experience side effects of poison.
Mana cost: 10 mana points (ten sharp icicles and additional cost of 1 mana points for other icicles.)}
Surprisingly, Snow’s summoning magic skills were superb, as it did not even take a second for a single icicle to form. It was three times the size of a needle so it was reasonable. As soon as the first icicle formed, it swiftly bolted towards the Grey Werewolf, the latter’s instinct screamed in danger.
He did not have a choice but roar while swiping his left claw to block the icicle. The roar reverberated through the forest and the Grey Werewolf grinned. He turned to Snow and said, "You are dead."
He was attempting to intimidate Snow and used the chance to counterattack. However, Snow indifferently stared at him and continued to hurl icicles while dashing towards him. The Grey Werewolf gritted his teeth and finally decided to defend passively against Snow. There should be another roar at any moment now. He thought.
He was obviously distracted, seemingly waiting for the roar to respond. The Grey Werewolf deflected Snow’s bite with his left claw. His heart palpitated to discover that even his flames were being frozen by the Snow’s frost. ’Damn, elemental conflicts.’ The Grey Werewolf cursed.
He really had to encounter an ice elemental bearer, who was stronger than him. Furthermore, at this moment, he was still perplexed why there was poison on Snow’s ice. ’Can’t she settle with one at all?’ The Grey Werewolf could only complain under his breath.
However, the seconds passed he was battling against Snow, slowly losing, his mind fell into disorder.
’Why is there no one responding to my roar at all?’ The Grey Werewolf panicked. ’It’s true that my roar was cut short and I barely roared at the top of my lungs, but it should, at least, reach a kilometer. Is there no one of my kind near me at all?’
The Grey Werewolf roared and actually used his disabled arm with his left arm to swipe his claws crisscross at Snow. Snow was taken aback, but since she could now manipulate mana, she could maneuver in mid-air just like what Qwanisha did. She dodged the Grey Werewolf’s attack with ease.
However, she already anticipated the Grey Werewolf’s attempt. She discerned the Grey Werewolf was anxious. She even grinned when the Grey Werewolf roared earlier. Just for this moment to happen, just to get rid of the stalker who was observing her Master, she confirmed there were no more werewolves aside from the Grey Werewolf.
The Grey Werewolf was obviously becoming desperate, wanting to utter another roar to call his kin. Snow let him be, but this time, she maneuvered around the Grey Werewolf, altering the ground surrounding the Grey Werewolf with a trail of venomous ice. The Grey Werewolf saw Snow’s attempt but since it quickly thought it would just be able to jump around it or use Blink.
He did not want to use Blink as it would consume a lot of mana points. However, he had no choice now. Since Snow let him finally roar at the top of his lungs, he roared.
ROAR–
However, his roar was cut short when icicles barraged on his throat, penetrating it endlessly. The Grey Werewolf choked, hastily extracted all the icicles from his throat. He swept his gaze with eyes filled with fury, attempting to search for Snow, but all he perceived was danger screaming behind him. He did not restrain himself anymore and blinked.
He tried to search for Snow but then perceived excruciating pain from his foot. Blink has a limited range with only a meter. The Grey Werewolf estimated earlier he could have blinked out of the trail Snow created. However, he was now baffled why he was standing atop of the icy floor.
He was stunned for a second and that sufficed for Snow to catch up to him with her remaining Swift Dash skills, levitating behind his neck. She bit the Grey Werewolf’s neck, causing the latter to scream at the top of his lungs.
At the same time, Snow activated another of her deadly skills.
{Icicle Spines (Rare)
Description: Snow ejects sharp ice spines coated with venom from her body, damaging and poisoning all enemies within close range. This is an emergency defense skill to repel attackers.
Mana Cost: 7 mana points.}
The ice spines were deadlier if it was in close range. The Grey Werewolf’s attempt to counterattack with his left arm was quickly repelled by the ice spines. Some ice spines even managed to penetrate deep into his neck.
Soon, the Grey Werewolf’s attempt to detach himself from Snow was futile as he inevitably and eventually lost his life from Snow. His body fell to the floor with a thud, lying lifelessly. Snow detached her teeth from his neck and hissed.
She stood up above the Grey Werewolf’s carcass and hissed louder. She then licked the poison dripping from her mouth and calmly observed the aftermath of the battle in satisfaction.
