Chapter 35: Three Months
Chapter 35: Three Months
The blood moon was drifting in the grim sky, a minute away from arriving in the middle. At this moment, the blood moon terrified the beasts, even monsters concealed themselves more in the dark, with the help of the gargantuan trees and colossal stones and leaves. However, there was a monster active more outside of Vladislaus’ burg.
Thralls, mindless low-level failed-turned vampires with limited intelligence and abilities, was roaming around outside the burg for unknown reason. Their dwarf head, malformed face with its razor-sharp yellow teeth that could terrorize beasts and monsters, was turning crimson. Even its already reddened eyes were turning bloody. It was the sign of berserk, usually happens when the blood moon was about to become bloody crimson and enlarged thrice of its size.
At this point, the already limited intelligence, was beginning to decline more, but its instinct intensified, too. Its elongated, dark, bony ears suddenly twitched, perceiving a noise almost impossible to hear. The Thrall suddenly turned its head and stared at the shadow of the gargantuan tree. However, despite squinting, it could not spot an anomaly behind the shadow.
It did not even suspect that a single human-size leaf swayed in the opposite direction when a breeze smacked towards them.
Swoosh!
The thrall perceived something went past it, but it only discerned it was a gentle breeze. Yet, it was by no means gentle when its instinct was screaming louder than before. It suddenly echoed a reverberating roar that shook even the crown of trees, seemingly almost reaching the skies.
A blood spurted on its cheeks, causing it to be enraged more. It knew it was attacked, something so daring and swift. It instantly lost its reasoning as it appeared to be mindlessly swinging its claws in every direction. However, everywhere the claws brandished, there were clanging noises and sparks revealing endlessly, showcasing that despite almost losing its intelligence, it could heavily rely more on its instinct.
Nevertheless, despite successfully blocking some of the strangers’ attacks, wounds kept appearing on the body of the Thrall, and each wound appeared wider than the previous. The thrall understood its perilous circumstances, so it roared once more in an attempt to stun the enemy and finally strike back. After all, if it would not, after discerning the wound bizarrely wouldn’t heal despite its regenerative abilities, its death was certain.
It roared for three seconds and silence ensued. It was certain that whoever attacked it had been stunned by its roar. However, it was mistaken, as another lacerated wound, deeper and wider than before, appeared on its neck. If it was not because it moved by instinct, preventing an inch more deep wound to end its life, it would have long fallen to the floor and stopped breathing.
The thrall was taken by surprise, but since it had finally fallen into berserk, as the blood moon turned bloody crimson, its body expanded, its claws elongated and sharpened as its razor-sharp teeth, the already bulky framework became even more solid, and its regenerative abilities exploded, slowly healing the wound in an almost instant.
However, what was more surprising was... its head exploded.
Blood spread everywhere.
In an instant, another head appeared, replacing the old one, but this time, with skin similar to its scales on its body, and its eyes... everything was in relation to the size of its body, not so small like before.
Its bloody crimson eyes widened, attempting to search for what was once a predator now its prey. It finally caught its prey’s silhouette and was astonished by its size, almost just similar to its claw. Nevertheless, it did not hold back anymore as it entered the berserk state, quickly dashing towards the prey standing in the shadow.
The prey seemed to have expected it would happen as it suddenly vanished once again, appearing behind the thrall’s neck. However, the thrall anticipated it, as it twisted its upper torso in a strange position while letting the momentum swipe its left claw at a speed faster than before.
Just as the claw hit the silhouette in mid-air, it quickly bounced back with a clanging noise and spark, causing the Thrall’s face to turn ugly. Its left arm actually trembled from the impact, showcasing the strength of the silhouette. The Thrall attacked with its right claw, not wanting to be conquered by the silhouette, but as it had just decided its next move, the silhouette once again vanished.
The Thrall hastily searched for it, but it suddenly found its head moving on its own. The world spun and its vision kept rolling on the floor. Once the out of controlled vision settled, the Thrall found a body of its own kind standing without a head. Before it could realize what had happened, its vision lost, and the headless Thrall fell to the floor as the area quaked.

A shadow appeared in front of the decapitated Thrall. It was wearing a hood, strangely shrouding its face despite no mask. It pulled its hood and finally revealed its face. It was Kaiju, his face appeared filled with more vigor and slim. His hair was still similar before, just that, it seemed to have been cut lately.
His eyes were now more like a hunter, and his disposition was certainly many times better than before. It was as though he was utilizing the Emotionless skill. Yet, he obviously did not, for a smile formed on his face, happiness gleamed on his raven-black pupils.
"Good job. You’ve utilized what you possessed really well," a voice echoed on a particular gargantuan tree.
Kaiju tilted his head upward and glanced at Griffin standing on a colossal branch. He bowed.
"Greetings, teacher."
Griffin nodded and suddenly vanished.
He blinked to different branches until he appeared in front of Kaiju. He said, "You have improved really well. Although the silver spoon hasn’t been dull yet, as it even appeared to shine more..." Griffin meaningfully glanced at Kaiju’s hood, knowing it was a Rare grade artifact and continued, "Though I still wonder how you are able to get so many of them, but still, you have improved a lot. Your attributes increased at a rapid rate, too. I admit, your improvement might be better than mine."
"It can’t be." Kaiju shook his head. "It’s even difficult to catch up to you, Teacher."
Griffin was satisfied by Kaiju’s reply, even more so when he perceived how sincere Kaiju was. Indeed, Kaiju genuinely meant what he said. He could discern his rapid growth, but it appeared that the distance between him and Griffin never waver the slightest. Griffin would still be able to fight him like how he did on day one.
"Don’t sweat it too much." Griffin stared at the bloody crimson moon. "Your strength lies, not on your individual strength, but with your pets. You are a beastmaster while I’m a swordsman."
"Understood." Kaiju nodded and glanced at the bloody crimson moon. "I can’t wait to see their improvements, too."
