Chapter 118: Horde Of Crimson Knights 1
Since Vladislaus has finally awakened and Kaiju was able to store another treasure to be used for the secret technique later, he had decided to enter Vladislaus’ castle.
Kaiju would rather call it castle than burg due to its grandiose, classical appearance. Furthermore, the very fact it appeared old suited for the owner of the castle, a vampire.
Despite the advance technology, Kaiju could only watch movies at school, and he was able to watch a movie made prior to the appearance of Tower. Just sauntering in the hallway made him feel like an actor in the movie, and he couldn’t help but act like it. Snow and Little Gorilla gave him strange gazes but Kaiju ignored them anyway.
Kaiju enjoyed his leisure walk, even though the cobweb and insects crawling at every nook and crook–unable to be undetected with Kaiju’s night vision–made the place creepy, nevertheless, Kaiju enjoyed every moment of it.
Of course, it would not always last. Another Crimson Knight appeared and as he was about to kill it an in an instant, the Crimson Knight grinned and another appeared... until they seemed to be endless.
Kaiju was stunned. How many Crimson Knights are there?! Are these supposed to face the higher races? So, them being asked by the Tower to cooperate to fight against Vladislaus made a lot of sense! At first, Kaiju thought that the Tower asked the higher races to cooperate with each other to fight Vladislaus alone.
However, he was wronged, the Hellish Difficulty deserved its reputation of the most difficult trial after this discovery.
Nevertheless, Kaiju did not falter. On the contrary, he was brimming with excitement. He could finally integrate the effects and magic skills he barely used on the battler prior. He needed lots and lots of experience to make up for his mistakes.
After all, he realized that even his battle style seemed to have been repetitive, as though he was following a single linear battle style–same order of magic skills and effects. He knew he should avoid repeating it, as life and death battle in the future, the present, and the past always differed depending on the circumstances.
Realizing this, Kaiju could barely restrain his excitement. However, he was awakened when he recalled Ember, who taught him leadership. Snow and Little Gorilla should be in the fun, too. He thought. Just because he had gotten strong, it does not mean they were useless.
Just recalling his actions earlier, where he battled alone and appeared to have forgotten Little Gorilla and Snow, made him seem like an irresponsible master, who would abandon his pets and tamed beasts once he did not need them.
Kaiju shook his head, realizing he was slowly getting consumed by his negative thoughts. He communicated with Snow and Little Gorilla.
"See that sea of Crimson Knights?"
"Yes, Master. They are already running at us. What are you waiting for?!" Snow panicked a bit.
Although she was aware her master had become strong he was able to defeat a Crimson Knight in a matter of seconds, the quantity of the Crimson Knights in front of them was no joke. She could count almost a quarter of a hundred, and if they attacked together, adding to the fact that they seemed to be intelligent compared to the first Crimson Knight, caused her to feel apprehensive.
Little Gorilla nodded frantically, as they were watching forward in horror that the Crimson Knights had crossed a hundred meters of them, only twenty meters away from them. However, their Master was still staring at them, turning his head from time to time as they sat on his shoulders, terrorizing them more.
"Relax." Kaiju smiled. "You two proceed to our battle formation, as usual. But this time, you don’t have to be so active, Snow. Leave the clean up to me. You just have to distract them and if you can, kill some, too."
"We haven’t maxed out our attributes yet, Master!"
"It’s also impossible for me to anchor them." Little Gorilla sighed.
"Well, you gotta do what you’re supposed to do. Don’t forget our weakness. Make up for it. I’ll try my best to lessen the burden. It’s time for you two to have a breakthrough."
As soon as Kaiju finished his sentence, he used Blink and appeared on the corner of the ceiling, completely erasing his presence, baffling the Crimson Knights.
Little Gorilla leapt backward, nervously staring at the hordes of Crimson Knights in front of him.
Snow sprung upward, maneuvering around the Crimson Knight through the effects of her light armor. She used the Glacial Venom Barrage from time to time, until she managed to create a cloud of venomous frost that slowly enveloped the Crimson Knights.
Unfortunately, the Crimson Knight’s respiratory system was tough, barely freezing it. They could still breath, albeit slowly and rough. Nevertheless, they swung their heavy weapons simultaneously and managed to blow the smoke through raw power. Snow was a bit depressed. However, that was the least she could do.
After all, with many mana auras oppressing her, her magic skills’ effects drastically reduced, barely dealing any damage to the Crimson Knights.
She worriedly glanced at the back and thankfully, her master did not disappoint them. Thud after thud reverberated on the back line, alarming the Crimson Knights. However, Little Gorilla took the chance to attract their attention.
He activated his Holy Fang Strike but remained on his ground, increasing his mana points to activate the Holy Fang Strike and was able to push it forward. Light was the Crimson Knights’ nemesis, so they were instantly drawn towards it. Unfortunately, it would have worked more if the Crimson Knights were not unintelligent.
"Everyone! Those in the front, attack that monkey! Those in the back, attack that despicable mother fucker!
Ignore that damn snake. She doesn’t do a thing!"
Despite the fact that they spoke in the vampire language, the very fact that the Crimson Knight, who was spreading orders while in the center, cast a mocking glance at Snow while uttering the last sentence, Snow was sensitive and so, she fell into enrage. Hence, she added sharp icicles to specifically attack the Crimson Knight leader and it worked.
Now, the hordes of Crimson Knights’ attention were divided...
