Chapter 994: Reunited (Part 2)

"I figured it would be you all," Jirandal Tang said as he entered with the remaining disciples.

Dayeon Xinyue glanced behind him and spotted the disciples of the Divine Maiden Sect.

"Kailash Ren, how did you end up coming here with them?"

"We saw the markers left by Senior Sister and ran into them on the way," Kailash Ren replied, clearly relieved to see her senior sister safe and sound. She had been worried about their safety throughout the journey, and seeing them unharmed allowed her to relax.

"Renshu Chang and Jinhwa Hou didn’t come with you?" Taeseon Lei asked as he walked over.

Jirandal Tang shook his head regretfully. "No, we haven’t run into them yet. We even got separated from Junior Brother Hsu and the others. I can only hope they’re safe. I left markers behind for them to follow."

"If I’m around, they’re definitely fine!" Jinhwa Hou’s boisterous laughter rang out from behind them.

Everyone turned around to see four figures entering from outside the great hall.

After parting ways with Amalia, Jinhwa Hou hadn’t taken long to encounter Renshu Chang and the others. Following the markers, they had finally regrouped with everyone else here.

"Is it just you four?" Jirandal Tang asked, glancing past them, but as expected, the two he sought weren’t there.

"You don’t need to worry about those two," Jinhwa Hou said confidently. "If anything happens to us, they’ll still be fine." Thinking about Amalia’s terrifying combat strength gave him the uncanny feeling that even if he fell, she would remain unscathed.

"You saw them?" Jirandal Tang asked.

"I only saw Amalia. We even teamed up to take down several Deity Transformation stage wandering spirits. As for Martial Uncle, I didn’t encounter him," Jinhwa Hou replied.

"I saw Kenny Lin," Dayeon Xinyue’s voice suddenly cut through the conversation.

All eyes immediately turned to her. "Miss Xinyue, when did you meet our sect’s martial uncle?"

"In the Heavenly Flames hall. He seemed to be looking for someone, so he might be on his way here soon," Dayeon Xinyue explained.

The Green Lotus Sect members, however, had their doubts. Most likely, he was searching for Amalia and might not necessarily come to them.

"There are still people from other sects who haven’t arrived yet," Taeseon Lei said. "Let’s wait a little longer. If no one else shows up within half an hour, we’ll take action."

Everyone had no objections.

Near the Lotus Mirage Hall, Amalia kept her aura concealed as she moved quietly. Suddenly, she stopped, a thought crossing her mind.

If she continued suppressing her presence entirely, no one would notice her—not even Kenny Lin. What if they missed each other entirely?

Amalia immediately took out a breath concealing pearl. Perhaps she was headed in the wrong direction. She should have been following the markers left by the Green Lotus Sect; that would give her a much better chance of finding someone.

Just as she was considering this, she spotted a familiar mark etched into the corner of a wall.

"This is a Green Lotus Sect marker. Someone passed through here. Is this the Lotus Mirage Hall?"

Without hesitation, Amalia began moving again.

"Take one more step, and don’t think it’ll be so easy to fool me," a cold, eerie voice came from behind her.

As the speaker emerged, Amalia felt his aura. She turned, and the sight of the handsome face stepping out of the shadows gave her the strange sensation that she hadn’t seen him in an eternity.

Amalia opened her mouth to speak, but before she could, her face collided with his chest. Her nose hit him hard, and the sharp pain reminded her that this wasn’t a dream.

"Where did you go after entering the Path of Yin and Yang?" She asked.

"Shouldn’t I be the one asking you that?" Kenny Lin shot back sharply. "One day apart feels like three autumns. Do the math—how many years has it been since we’ve seen each other?"

Amalia sighed. "It’s not like I wanted this to happen. The moment I stepped through the Path of Chaos, I was transported to a graveyard. That place seemed to be an ancient immortal battlefield, filled with the tombs of the fallen immortals. I was worried about you, so I left as quickly as I could."

Kenny Lin was silent for a few seconds before responding. "I was transported to an immortal’s residence. Later, for reasons I don’t understand, I moved one of their stone tablets, and suddenly, I was transported out."

"...Should I be thankful that you moved that stone tablet and got out earlier?"

"Who knows if that’s the reason? Maybe they thought I took too many of their divine artifacts," Kenny Lin said with a casual shrug.

Then, without warning, he released her and held her face between his hands. Just as Amalia began to sense his intent, he leaned in and kissed her forcefully, not letting go until her lips were visibly reddened.

"I don’t care. We’ve been apart for years. From now on, you owe me compensation—at least one kiss with tongue every single day," he declared.

"You talk as if we kissed daily whenever we met," Amalia said, utterly baffled by his bandit-like logic.

"That’s irrelevant. You should know that anything that hasn’t happened is still possible," Kenny Lin said with a sly grin, his eyes locking onto her lips before stealing another quick kiss with an audible smack.

Amalia wiped her lips, exasperated. "You just said one kiss a day."

Hearing what sounded like a tacit agreement, Kenny Lin’s expression turned smug, as if he’d grown a tail he couldn’t stop wagging. "This is an advance. Once we leave this place, we might not get another chance. If I take more kisses later, you can deduct them from future quotas."

"You sure know how to haggle," Amalia said, her lips twitching slightly.

"It’s a necessary skill," Kenny Lin replied smugly. He then waved his hand, and with a loud thud, a large sack dropped to the ground.
