Chapter 955: The Emergence of the Myriad Immortals Monument
Originally divided into two groups, the Eternal One Sect had to split into three teams due to the complexity of the terrain.
Sometimes they’d encounter members of other sects along the way, but there was an unspoken agreement not to engage in conflict. Fighting here would only allow others to take advantage of the situation, benefiting the bystanders.
"The Eternal One Sect is here too," someone from the Green Lotus Sect noted.
"Let them come. The Myriad Immortals Monument is no secret," Jirandai Tang replied, casting a glance at Hanjun Wangye’s direction.
He and Chohwan Jin had each acquired a divine artifact. While it was not a completely divine artifact, they were still highly coveted by others. With such an entourage, they couldn’t avoid attention.
When Jirandai Tang had agreed to let others follow, he had anticipated this scenario.
Half an hour later, Taeseon Lei and Eunbyeol Ling followed the markers Jirandai Tang had left and rejoined the group.
"We discovered an unusual spot. It might be where the Myriad Immortals Monument is located," Eunbyeol Ling reported.
"Let’s check it out," Jirandai Tang responded immediately, then instructed Seongwoo Jin, "Take a few disciples and scout the surrounding area."
"No problem," Seongwoo Jin replied with a knowing smile.
They had worked hard to locate this spot, and they weren’t about to hand it over to others. If they truly found the Myriad Immortals Monument, they wanted the first claim.
"If we don’t return within two quarters of an hour, follow the markers I left," Jirandai Tang added.
"Understood."
With that, Jirandai Tang led a few members forward.
Eunbyeol Ling guided them to a grand canyon that appeared peculiar.
The canyon stretched far beyond what the eye could see, both in length and depth, with a width of over three thousand meters. During the war between the immortals, two powerful fighters had created this canyon in a single blow.
Not a single blade of grass grew within it. Even now, they could feel a chilling cold, the lingering energy from that ancient battle.
Renshu Chang volunteered to descend for an inspection, discovering that the canyon was incredibly deep—up to ten thousand meters at its lowest point.
When he resurfaced, he reported, "Aside from some skeletal remains, there’s nothing else down there. However, the spatial structure here feels thin. I suspect that before we entered, the Myriad Immortals Monument slipped back into a spatial rift. To retrieve it, unless we..."
"We’d need to try using a token, specifically a crystal token. Right now, that’s our only option," Hanjun Wangye suggested.
He recalled hearing from his elders that once the Myriad Immortals Monument entered a spatial rift, it could only be sensed using a crystal token or a gold token, due to their high energy. According to legend, these tokens were crafted with materials derived from the Myriad Immortals Monument itself, allowing them to resonate with it. However, not all tokens could establish this resonance, as black and silver tokens were often made from leftover fragments.
Without hesitation, Jirandai Tang took out a crystal token.
Hanjun Wangye and Chohwan Jin each had only one crystal token and preferred not to risk theirs, as they could still be useful later.
Once thrown, a crystal token typically had two fates: either it would be swallowed by the spatial rift, or it would be reclaimed by the sensed Myriad Immortals Monument.
Jirandai Tang had several crystal tokens that Amalia and Kenny Lin had previously given him.
In terms of resources, few could match their wealth.
However, even with multiple crystal tokens, they were cautious about wasting them. If they threw one into the wrong location and it was swallowed by the spatial rift, it would be a costly loss. Crystal tokens were already rare, so they hoped to avoid unnecessary losses if possible.
"Don’t throw the crystal token immediately. First, search for the weak spot in the spatial structure—it’s likely where the Myriad Immortals Monument is located."
Taeseon Lei reminded as Jirandai Tang was about to act.
"I know," Jirandai Tang nodded, understanding the gravity of the situation.
Each crystal token was precious and couldn’t be wasted.
"Let’s split up and search," Taeseon Lei suggested before turning toward the eastern side.
"I’ll head south. You two can take the west," Jirandai Tang instructed, assigning the western direction to Eunbyeol Ling and Hanjun Wangye, confident that they wouldn’t turn against Eunbyeol Ling.
Indeed, there was no need for concern. Hanjun Wangye and Chohwan Jin, even without an alliance with the Green Lotus Sect, had no intention of attacking their disciples. Before they entered the Path of All Immortals, their elders had warned them not to make enemies of the Green Lotus Sect here.
Two quarters of an hour later, Seongwoo Jin led the other disciples toward the great canyon, carefully following the markers without alerting members of other sects.
Before long, they reached the canyon.
"Senior Brother Tang," Seongwoo Jin whispered.
At the same moment, a voice echoed up from the bottom of the canyon.
"I found it!"
A crystal token, gleaming brightly, shot up from the bottom of the vast canyon and collided with an invisible barrier.
Seongwoo Jin and the others were startled to see a spatial rift appear in mid-air, exuding a deadly, foreboding aura.
A massive stone monument, at least 30 meter in height, slowly emerged from the spatial rift.
The monument soared out of the rift and landed on the canyon’s edge with a resounding crash.
A cloud of dust surged forward, and Seongwoo Jin swiftly swept his sleeve to clear it away.
The enormous stone monument loomed high above, its top only visible when they craned their necks. Three imposing crimson characters—"Myriad Immortals Monument"—were engraved in the center.
A moment later, Taeseon Lei and Eunbyeol Ling arrived and gazed at the colossal monument with awe.
Staring too long at the inscription induced a dizzying sensation, so no one dared to look at it for too long.
"The Myriad Immortals Monument has appeared, and the disturbance was quite big. The other cultivators may arrive here quickly. Everyone, hurry up and take out your tokens," Jirandai Tang ordered swiftly.
