Chapter 876: Betrayal and Beastly Wrath

Taejin Yun desperately wished Dalamadur wouldn’t notice him, but that was futile. Dalamadur’s cold, green eyes locked onto him immediately.

"It’s been a long time since anyone dared play such tricks on me. You are the first, and you will be the last."

"Wait! I have something to say!" Taejin Yun was so terrified that every hair on his body stood on end. He could feel Dalamadur’s bone-chilling killing intent—this demonic beast really wanted to kill him.

Dalamadur, enjoying the sight of his prey struggling, decided to give him the chance to speak his last words. "Speak, let’s hear what you have to say before you die."

Taejin Yun felt a cold sweat trickle down his spine. He explained, "My earlier sensing was tampered by aomeone who are purposely led us into a confrontation with the devils. We were tricked too!"

"So what? I don’t care about that. You dare to deceived me. These few words aren’t enough to save your life," Dalamadur’s killing intent deepened.

If the killing intent could be seen with the naked eye, everyone would have noticed it surrounding Taejin Yun on all sides. Any slight movement on his part, and death would be inevitable.

Taejin Yun was terrified. He realized that if he couldn’t come up with something that would interest Dalamadur, he would surely die.

There was only one thing Dalamadur cared about—the Pixiu.

But the Pixiu was already gone, having escaped without a trace. Taejin Yun’s mind raced. His gaze suddenly landed on Jiho Wang, and an insidious plan quickly formed in his mind.

"Although I don’t know where the Pixiu is, someone else does!"

The moment Jiho Wang noticed Taejin Yun’s gaze, his eyelid twitched, realizing something was wrong. But it was too late—Taejin Yun, desperate to save his own life, had already shouted.

"Who?" Dalamadur’s eyes narrowed.

"He knows where the Pixiu is. They were at the entrance of Ten Thousand Beasts Mountain when the Pixiu escaped. They were right there," Taejin Yun said with a wicked grin, knowing that Jiho Wang would now suffer because of him.

Jiho Wang’s face darkened. "Taejin Yun, you truly deserve to die!"

Dalamadur’s immense pressure shifted, locking onto Jiho Wang, his cold, malicious eyes narrowing. "Tell me, where is the Pixiu?"

Hidden in the shadows, Amalia, witnessing the scene, showed a look of concern.

Taejin Yun, as expected, was extremely insidious person. At such a critical moment, he had successfully redirected Dalamadur’s wrath onto Jiho Wang. This was troublesome because she knew that Peak Master Huoyan had likely been with Jiho Wang at the time.

"We don’t know where the Pixiu is," Peak Master Huoyan spoke up before Jiho Wang could say anything. Letting the Pixiu go had been his idea, and he wasn’t going to let Jiho Wang take the blame for it.

In the corner, Amalia’s expression showed that this was exactly what she expected. Peak Master Huoyan didn’t need to say anything—Jiho Wang probably wouldn’t have mentioned him. Unless, of course, he wanted to drag all of Skyward City down with him, which would be another story.

But this was only a thought that lacked responsibility. In the end, Peak Master Huoyan didn’t do that.

A sneaky, evil person might have, without any guilt. But Peak Master Huoyan wasn’t like that. He was upright and wouldn’t allow himself to stoop so low.

"Who are you to interrupt when I’m speaking?" Dalamadur looked at Peak Master Huoyan with disdain, unleashing an intense pressure.

Peak Master Huoyan’s knees bent slightly under the force, but he quickly straightened back up. His pride wouldn’t let him bow to a savage beast.

Dalamadur, sensing its attempt to intimidate him had failed, narrowed its eyes dangerously.

"I am Huoyan Husheng, the Peak Master of Heaven Blade Peak from the Green Lotus Sect," he replied, meeting the Dalamadur’s gaze without fear. Despite the immense pressure, he couldn’t back down—it wasn’t just about him but also about the disciples behind him.

Dalamadur hadn’t expected the human to be someone of such high status.

"We did see the Pixiu leave Ten Thousand Beasts Mountain, but we don’t know where it went, and we had no obligation to stop it for you," Peak Master Huoyan said calmly.

"Are you trying to anger me?" The serpent’s voice turned cold, its fury evident. "Do you think I won’t kill you?"

"I’m just speaking the truth," Peak Master Huoyan answered, glancing toward Taejin Yun. "It seems to me that someone is trying to use your power to eliminate their own enemies."

Taejin Yun, noticing the look, felt a chill creep into his heart.

Dalamadur, either pretending or genuinely unaware, said coldly, "I’ll ask you one last time—where is the Pixiu? You humans are so full of deceit. If I kill you all here, who would even speak up for you? They’d probably be happy to see you dead."

Peak Master Huoyan frowned. "As I’ve said, I don’t know where the Pixiu is. Why push us like this? Ask me a hundred times, and my answer will be the same."

"You’re seeking death!" Dalamadur exploded in rage. The human had tested its patience too far, and now its power surged.

Both Peak Master Huoyan and Jiho Wang’s faces paled as they quickly backed away.

"This is bad—they might be in real danger," Amalia frowned, feeling the urge to rush out and help.

Kenny Lin held her back, saying, "If we go out, we’ll only get ourselves killed."

"But we can’t just stand by and watch Peak Master Huoyan and the other Green Lotus Sect disciples get slaughtered," Amalia replied, her heart heavy with guilt.

Kenny Lin paused for a moment. "Didn’t you suspect earlier that the Green Lotus Sect might have sent stronger reinforcements?"

Amalia nodded hesitantly. "Yes, but that was just a guess."

Kenny Lin said, "It all depends on whether you want to take the risk now." Without being absolutely certain, he wouldn’t let Amalia and himself rush out to die. This wasn’t like the time at the Skyward City Lord’s mansion. Back then, during the battle, he already knew that Sect Leader Qing was there.
