Chapter 544: Primal Megalodon (Part 4)

"We’ll hold him off. You go," Alus Restor stepped forward, and the Lin family Head revealed himself, no longer hiding.

The Primal Megalodon who is clearly different in nature from the Sea King, would only escalate the conflict between the mutated creatures and humanity if he were the one who lead the marine-type mutated creatures.

The Primal Megalodon’s intentions were clear today.

Once he led the marine-type mutated creatures and the land-type mutated creatures, his next target would be humanity.

The Sea King’s cold eyes flickered with surprise.

In his view, the humans might prefer to see both sides suffer mutual destruction.

"So, you finally decided to show yourselves," the Primal Megalodon said, not surprised to see them.

Alus Restor hadn’t expected to deceive them for long and quickly addressed the Sea King, "You must go. The spatial rift has started to destabilize. If we don’t act fast, the situation will become even more dangerous."

The Sea King nodded slightly, "Thank you."

"No need to thank us; we’re doing this for ourselves as well," Alus Restor replied straightforwardly.

The Sea King understood but still felt gratitude towards them.

"None of you are leaving," the Primal Megalodon roared, his voice tearing through the air as if summoning others.

Indeed, he was calling for reinforcements.

A massive creatures surged through the distant waves, creating an awe-inspiring sight.

They moved swiftly and soon surrounded them.

A whale breached the surface, its enormous mouth gaping wide as it lunged at Alus Restor and the Lin family Head.

Alus Restor remained calm.

With a single strike, he sent the whale crashing back into the sea.

Though these whales were powerful, they were too cumbersome.

"Even the whale tribe has been betrayed?" The Lin family Head remarked while glancing at the Sea King.

Despite all he had done for the marine-type mutated creatures, many had still betrayed him.

"There is no power without a price. Perhaps mutation is their cost," Alus Restor said calmly.

The Sea King seemed unsurprised by the repeated betrayals from his followers.

Given his status as the sea’s ruler, he likely knew about these betrayals long before they surfaced.

Failing to respond in time wasn’t due to a lack of will, but rather, a lack of strength.

"This is just the appetizer; the real battle is yet to come," the Primal Megalodon declared confidently.

"Be careful!"

The Sea King suddenly sensed danger and warned the others.

A black stripped snake darted out from the whale’s mouth.

Alus Restor who is already on high alert thanks to the Sea King’s warning, dodged the attack and countered.

The snake, however, agilely twisted its body, evading his strike.

It then expanded rapidly in mid-air, growing several times larger and overshadowing them.

"It’s An Aipysk, The Dubois’ sea snake."

Recognizing the species, Alus Restor’s brow furrowed.

No wonder the Primal Megalodon was so confident; even an Aipysk had submitted to him.

"Aipysk, one of the most venomous marine-type mutated creatures in the ocean," noted the Lin family Head, "The Primal Megalodon has indeed come prepared. We might not be able to escape."

"Then we fight!"

Alus Restor’s voice was resolute.

The Lin family Head drew his artifact, a long spear gleaming with a cold light that was emanating a chilling aura.

Suddenly, he exclaimed, "Wait a moment."

"What’s wrong?"

"The flow of the seawater... it’s not as fast anymore."

The Lin family Head, following the Sea King’s gaze, noticed he was fixated on the sea’s surface.

Although the change in the water’s speed was very subtle, they were all acutely aware.

As the Sea King was attuned to the ocean’s every nuance and was the first to sense this shift.

His usually calm face showed a rare glimmer of hope.

"Those two humans... I wasn’t wrong about them after all."

"What humans? Do you know what’s happening?" Alus Restor asked, pressing for an answer.

"I don’t know the specifics, but those two humans must have done something," the Sea King said, feeling a weight was lifted from his shoulders.

His demeanor became sharper and more determined.

The Lin family Head had a hunch about the two humans the Sea King referred to, they’re possibly Kenny and Amalia.

Judging by the Sea King’s words, they seemed to be safe, which was a relief.

While they felt reassured, the Primal Megalodon grew enraged.

His fury radiated through the air, amplifying his already violent aura.

"Who? Who dares to sabotage my plan?"

The Primal Megalodon’s roar echoed through the sky.

"Survival of the fittest. The unfit are eliminated."

The Primal Megalodon’s words were not just aimed at the Sea King but also at the marine-type mutated creatures that had submitted to him.

If they couldn’t survive this catastrophe, they were unworthy of following him.

When Kenny Lin infused the Yin-Yang Pearl with the energy spheres, Amalia noticed that the pearl’s previously dim glow instantly brightened.

"It actually works!"

Amalia exclaimed in delight.

Kenny Lin, not sensing any resistance from the pearl, continued to transfer more energy spheres into it.

The voracious Yin-Yang Pearl absorbed them all.

Only after doing this did they realize how much energy the Sea King had been consuming each time he powered the Yin-Yang Pearl.

Kenny Lin had expended over eighty percent of his spiritual energy before they saw the pearl’s light strengthen enough to counteract the spatial rift’s turbulent energy.

The Yin-Yang Pearl, previously weakened by the violent energies from the rift, began to suppress the rift’s expansion and energy output once it was recharged.

"This energy won’t last long," Kenny Lin remarked, his face pale.

He had no desire to stay near the pearl and continuously supplying it with energy.

"Indeed, this isn’t a sustainable solution," Amalia said, sharing her concern.

The spatial rift remained here, known to all the mutated creatures that betrayed the Sea King.

Even if they stationed guards here, they would face constant harassment from them.

Kenny Lin stared at the Yin-Yang Pearl.

"If the Yin-Yang Pearl were whole, it would be much more effective," Amalia lamented as she looked at the fragment in her possession.
