Chapter 524: King Of The Sea (Part 3)

They were immediately exasperated.

"Weren’t we supposed to lose them?" the Pyrosplash asked while being shocked.

"I never said we definitely would," the Abyssard retorted irritably.

Who knew they were so fast?

Amalia surveyed her surroundings.

By now, they had passed through vast areas of rocky reefs and coral clusters.

The water flow had noticeably sped up.

The Abyssard and Pyrosplash intentionally entered the center of the current, letting it carry them forward.

The further they went, the stronger the current’s pull became.

Even without moving, they were being drawn forward.

The Abyssard and Pyrosplash quickly exited the center of the current, smirking as they watched the humans struggle in the water flow.

They thought it wouldn’t be so easy for the humans to meet their King.

But before they could celebrate, the humans shot through the powerful current like arrows, arriving right in front of them.

The fish’s smiles faded as they exchanged glances.

These two humans might not be as powerful as the previous ones, but their skills were very impressive.

"Lucky them," the Abyssard grumbled stubbornly, "Let’s go."

Moving forward, they finally saw a palace.

The palace wasn’t as magnificent as expected, but it exuded an ancient charm, quietly nestled in the water, serene and timeless.

Behind the palace, there was a terrifying sight: a massive black whirlpool, like a giant beast, swallowing everything that came near.

Any unfortunate mutated creatures that strayed too close were instantly consumed by the black whirlpool, without even a chance to struggle.

"Is that the spatial rift?" Amalia asked in shock.

Given the rate at which the seawater was being drained, this was the result of the Sea King’s suppression.

Without the King’s constant control, it wouldn’t take many years for all the ocean water on Earth to be sucked away.

Wealth conveyed Amalia’s question.

"The actual spatial rift is hidden behind this black whirlpool, several kilometers away from the palace," the Abyssard responded coolly.

"The situation seems very serious," Amalia said, frowning deeply.

The Abyssard continued, "This spatial rift wasn’t always this large. According to our lord, it started out less than thirty centimeters long. Over time, the rift has continued to grow and now stretches to four or five meters."

"Ask them how their King uses the black fragments to control the spatial rift," Kenny Lin suddenly said.

Wealth dutifully relayed the question, serving as a communication link.

The Abyssard replied warily, "Knowing this won’t help you. Only the King can control the black fragments."

Then it rolled its eyes and added, "However, if you truly want to know, we might tell you in exchange for a black fragment."

Amalia had a few black fragments, but giving them away so easily was out of the question.

Once they saw the spatial rift itself, they would understand its nature better.

She refused the offer, causing the Abyssard some disappointment.

It figured that the true purpose of the black fragments would be revealed eventually.

It hadn’t expected the humans to be so cunning and not fall for the bait.

"However, if it’s true that only by gathering all the black fragments can the rift be closed, then handing them over wouldn’t be a problem," Amalia added.

The Abyssard and Pyrosplash were instantly overjoyed, urging Wealth, "Is this human telling the truth?"

"Of course, my owner always keeps her word," Wealth said proudly while puffing out its chest.

"Good, as long as you don’t go back on our word," the Abyssard began to consider how to convince the two humans.

Before long, they arrived in front of the palace.

It was a tall gate guarded by dozens of shrimp and crab soldiers, none of whom looked weak.

As soon as they saw the humans, these mutated creatures immediately went on high alert.

"Lord Abyssard, Lord Pyrosplash, have you been captured by these humans?"

"Put down your weapons. We have not been captured by the humans. Go inside and report to the King..."

"No need, let them in."

Before the Abyssard could finish speaking, a deep voice resonated in everyone’s minds.

Amalia and Kenny Lin heard it too, their eyebrows raising in surprise as they exchanged glances.

This Sea King was just as powerful as the rumors said.

They had concealed their presence, yet the King had detected them as soon as they arrived.

The Abyssard was pleased.

The King’s awareness made things easier.

It turned to the two humans and said, "The King has allowed you to enter. Follow me, and don’t wander around. If the King gets angry, no one will be able to save you."

Its expression was smug, sharing the same pride as Wealth.

The two of them said nothing, their presence here already exceeding their expectations.

The interior of the palace was as simple as its exterior, with a straightforward structure.

Inside, they walked to a spacious hall and saw a black figure standing on the steps, facing away from them.

The figure’s upper body was human-like, while its lower body was a long fish tail.

It was one or two meters taller than an average human, and its entire body was covered in solid, hard scales that glowed with a bluish-black hue, resembling a cold armor.

Seeing the figure, the Abyssard and Pyrosplash became extremely solemn, their eyes filled with reverence and fanaticism as they bowed their heads to the figure.

"Your Majesty."

"Can you even see where their necks are?" Kenny Lin asked at an inappropriate moment.

Amalia glanced at the King on the steps, who was slowly turning around, and whispered, "Be serious."

The Sea King’s handsome features were similar to those of a human, with small, icy scales on its face.

The most striking feature was its deep, ocean-blue eyes, which seemed to draw you in, making you feel as though your consciousness could be swallowed by their depths.

Amalia looked at the Sea King for a moment before her head was turned by a pair of hands.

Her eyes met Kenny Lin’s equally handsome face and his displeased expression.
