Chapter 520: Sea Of Death (Part 11)
It entrusted the two humans to its subordinates and hurriedly dived into the sea, disappearing in an instant.
Despite its enormous size, its movements were incredibly swift.
On the other side, Amalia was momentarily stunned.
The strongest among them, the blue ring octopus, had actually left first.
"Alright, there’s no need to negotiate now," Kenny Lin said with a particularly malicious grin.
After the battle to defend the city, they had spent several months training in the central disaster zone.
They had made significant progress during that time.
If they could previously kill two high-level mutated creatures, their current strength was even greater.
The two marine-type mutated creatures sensed something odd in the atmosphere around them.
In fact, this strange feeling had been present from the start, but they hadn’t realized it.
If they were truly afraid, who would banter with their companion in front of several powerful enemies?
"These two seem to be among the King’s subordinates and likely know more than that mutated sea turtle. Should we kill one and capture the other alive?" Kenny Lin asked with a cheerful grin.
Before Amalia could respond, the two high-level marine-type mutated creatures attacked first.
"Prepare to die, humans!"
The first to charge was an Abyssard, which lived over two thousand meters deep in the ocean and had a terrifying appearance.
The other was a Pyrosplash, only at Level 13.
It moved more slowly but followed closely behind its companion, attempting to crush them with its massive body.
"I’ll handle the Pyrosplash," Amalia said to Kenny Lin.
Kenny Lin didn’t respond.
Instead, he swung his spiritual sword directly at the charging Abyssard.
A streak of black light, tinged with faint white, flashed past, instantly striking the Abyssard.
They couldn’t hear the Abyssard’s cries of agony, but the Pyrosplash beside it was startled.
The Pyrosplash’s forward momentum abruptly halted as it involuntarily braked.
Turning its head, it saw that its companion’s body had been slashed, exposing a large portion of flesh and bone.
Amalia swore she saw a particularly vivid expression flash across the Pyrosplash’s face, as if it were thinking, "What the hell is going on? Aren’t we supposed to be high-level marine-type mutated creatures?"
"Ah! Pyrosplash, help me kill them! It hurts so much!" the Abyssard howled in pain and anger.
The Pyrosplash hesitated, "You’re stronger than me and got so much flesh sliced off. My thick skin and large body would definitely get me cut in half. I can’t beat them."
"Are you kidding me? If you don’t fight, these cunning humans won’t spare you either!" the Abyssard fumed.
The Pyrosplash glanced at him fearfully, "It looks like they’re not moving. Maybe we should head back first? We don’t know what’s happening with the King. We should hurry back and protect the King. That’s the priority."
The Abyssard was silent for a moment, "You make a good point. So, should we run?"
"Let’s run. If the humans chase us, we can fight them to the death."
With that, the Pyrosplash turned around and fled.
"Damn it, at least give me a heads-up!" the Abyssard yelled and hastily following gim.
The two fish fled one after the other while frequently glancing back to see if the humans were pursuing them.
Kenny Lin, who had been ready for a fierce battle, was momentarily stunned when the two high-level marine-type mutated creatures suddenly turned around and ran.
He quickly gave chase.
"Spare their lives for now," Amalia shouted from behind.
Kenny Lin didn’t respond, but Amalia knew he had heard her.
A moment later, Amalia arrived with Wealth.
Kenny Lin had already subdued the two mutated creatures.
Perhaps realizing they couldn’t escape and seeing that the humans were no longer trying to kill them in one strike, the two fish resigned themselves to their fate, hoping to survive.
"They’re alive," Kenny Lin said, looking at Amalia.
Amalia nodded, "Wealth says these two creatures are quite interesting."
"When did you start understanding its alien language?" Kenny Lin asked curiously, raising an eyebrow.
"I don’t understand it, but I have eyes to see. It’s been looking at them with amusement."
Kenny Lin turned his gaze back to the Pyrosplash and the Abyssard.
The Pyrosplash shrank back as it met his eyes.
He remarked in surprise, "It is kind of funny how scared they are. When I attacked them earlier, they were terrified, especially this Pyrosplash."
He poked the Pyrosplash with his spiritual sword, causing it to shiver even more violently, like a shaking sieve, which amused him further.
"Stop playing around. Who says mutated creatures can’t fear for their lives? They have minds too," Amalia said nonchalantly.
"So, what do we do with them now?" Kenny Lin asked as he stood.
Amalia pondered for a moment, "That loud noise just now might have been caused by Senior Zhao and the others. There might be a fight going on over there. Why not have them take us to check it out?"
"What’s there to see? Some people might prefer we didn’t show up," Kenny Lin scoffed.
Amalia paused, "Who would prefer us not to show up?"
"Who else could it be?"
Amalia thought carefully and then understood. "No matter what they think, we have to do our part. Besides, we’re not going there for them. If possible, I hope to talk directly with their King. We only know the basics and don’t fully understand how that spatial rift appeared. Seeing it with our own eyes will be more convincing."
Moreover, since they had found the evidence, the credit would be theirs, and the others couldn’t say anything against it.
Kenny Lin didn’t care either way.
So, Amalia had Wealth communicate with the mutated creatures.
Although the Pyrosplash and the Abyssard were curious about why a mutated creature would listen to two humans, they relaxed when they heard that the humans wouldn’t kill them and only wanted to be taken to their King’s location.
Their heads began to bob, causing the seawater to churn and form huge waves.
